Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 115
"Mr. Alejandro, I brought drinks and a towel for you to use."
Suddenly, a maid approached Karlos. The woman had dark green hair and a lighter skin tone. Most people would admit that she was attractive.
It was Claire.
She stared at Karlos, who had just finished the maintenance. Karlos was dirty, and even his clothes were stained with grease. However, Claire couldn't help but find it attractive. The scent of oil, sweat, and salt mixed together, radiating masculinity. She usually disliked this kind of greasy appearance, but Karlos was different. He was hot.
"Oh, thank you." Karlos was surprised, but he accepted her goodwill anyway. He smiled at her, which made Claire blush slightly.
"Drink first." She handed him a cold, refreshing glass of water, and Karlos accepted it. He drank it in one go. Claire watched as Karlos's adam's apple moved while he drank. She found it hot and sexy.
Once Karlos was done, Claire handed him the towel.
"Are you sure it's okay for me to use this towel? My hands are greasy."
"It's alright. We are tasked with providing the best accommodation for you and the children."
"Alright." Karlos wiped his face, cleaning off the sweat.
When he lowered the towel, he saw his wife approaching, and his smile blossomed.
"Maya!" he called.
However, his smile slowly stiffened as he noticed Maya's eyes were cold and unwelcoming.
He fucked up.
...
...
...
A few minutes earlier.
"Kids, behave. You can't eat more sweets. It's bad for your stomach," Maya sternly said to her children, particularly Arabella, who was puffing her cheeks adorably, using her usual tactic.
"Mama! Donat!" Arabella cried.
"No," Maya didn't budge. "I already gave you one. You can eat the rest later or tomorrow."
Arabella's expression turned pitiful, as if she were about to cry, her usual weapon to persuade her parents. Unfortunately, Maya was already numb to those tricks, having seen through them countless times.
"That trick won't work on me," Maya said confidently.
If Karlos were present, Arabella would probably get what she wanted. Karlos was soft-hearted toward the children and often gave them whatever they asked for, even to the point of giving them his own food without hesitation.
That scenario had happened many times. Karlos would end up eating only rice without any meat or side dishes because he had given everything to the kids. That was the kind of person Karlos was. He would gladly sacrifice what he had for his family, placing their happiness above his own needs.
"How about we look for Papa? He's outside. Maybe he can play with you."
Maya decided to change the topic so the children would forget about the donuts, a strategic distraction. Karlos was probably done with the engine maintenance and would have time for them.
"Yeah! Papa, see!"
When the children heard Maya's proposal, they became excited. Unlike their mother, who had less physical strength and couldn't entertain them as much, their father was fun, energetic, and creative. Naturally, they preferred playing with him.
"Papa!"
"Papa!"
The children shouted excitedly as Maya held their hands. By now, the twins could walk on their own without baby walkers, although slowly, and they still needed assistance at times.
Maya leaned down slightly and held their hands as she led them to the garage. Seeing the twins walk on their own made her happy. She had a towel draped over her shoulder for Karlos to clean himself. Maya didn't like dirtiness.
She smiled while watching her adorable children walk. The trip to the garage, which normally took a few minutes, took nearly 5 minutes this time because the children walked slowly, stopped frequently, and got distracted by everything.
When they reached the outside, the children immediately looked for their father. As expected, they found him in the garage.
However, Maya froze when she saw Karlos interacting with Claire. Her smile vanished instantly.
She saw Karlos accept the glass of water and wipe his face using the towel Claire had brought. Claire was staring at Karlos with a blushing face, clearly infatuated. Her gaze lingered far too long.
'Knowing Karlos, he probably has no idea what's really going on. I bet he forgot what we talked about last time. He's not supposed to accept anything from that puta.'
Maya saw everything, and her heart tightened. Anger, jealousy, and protectiveness surged together. She stared at Claire with a cold gaze. Her crimson eyes were like blood moons, ready to spread destruction.
'I've been doing my best to keep us away from her, yet she won't stop.'
Claire had been on Maya's nerves for a long time. However, out of respect for Mrs. Wanda, Maya hadn't escalated things for the sake of harmony.
Unfortunately, Claire crossed a line.
The fact that Claire brought water and a towel for Karlos infuriated Maya.
'No one brings my husband towels except me. That puta needs to go.'
Maya made her decision. Even though Claire disguised it as goodwill, Maya could see her intentions clearly and unmistakably.
Maya turned to her children. She knelt down and spoke gently.
"Arabella, Iñigo, why don't you go back inside first? I'll give you donuts if you go inside faster." She softly caressed their cheeks, her voice tender.
"Yay!" Arabella immediately agreed. Playing with Papa was fun, but eating was also fun. Besides, she could play with Papa anytime, but donuts were rare. They were worth prioritizing.
Arabella grabbed Iñigo's hand and pulled him toward the house. Iñigo didn't resist. He liked donuts too. They walked faster this time, motivated by the promised reward. The door was open, and the children went inside.
Once the children were safely inside, Maya turned back toward Karlos and Claire. Her expression was no longer restrained.
Karlos felt confused and uneasy when he saw Maya's furious expression. As for Claire, she was still love-struck, staring at Karlos with affection, completely unaware of the danger.
Maya scoffed and strode toward them.
"Wife?"
Maya ignored Karlos. She raised her hand and slapped Claire with all her strength, releasing everything she had been holding back.
The slap echoed loudly.
Claire cried out in pain and nearly stumbled. Her left cheek turned red instantly, Maya's palm clearly imprinted on her skin. She was stunned, too shocked and hurt to react.
Even Karlos was frozen in disbelief. Just minutes ago, he had been doing routine maintenance on his boat engine. Now, everything had exploded.
