Chapter 147 - Chapter 147

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 147

"Can you carry them for a long time? At least let one of them sit in the baby carrier. We should have bought these a year ago," Maya muttered regretfully. She knew how difficult it was to carry the twins.

They had only discovered the baby carrier when they shopped for appliances last month.

"So, which one of you wants to try the baby carrier?" She turned to the kids, playfully challenging them. The twins looked at the piece of cloth strapped to Karlos's chest, their eyes filled with suspicion and curiosity.

They were curious, but the device had straps, and they didn't want to be strapped in, just like when they were in their strollers.

"Arabella, you're the most troublesome one, so you'll have to get strapped into the baby carrier." Maya kissed her baby girl and gently lifted her, then slid her legs into the straps. She knew how to position the baby comfortably since she had read the instructions, and she made sure the buckle was secure and properly fastened.

Arabella was not used to it at first. Her tiny hands touched the cloth as she tested the strange confinement. But when she relaxed, she found that it wasn't that bad. She felt like she was levitating. Karlos didn't have to hold her anymore, which meant his hands were free to do other things.

Arabella was facing forward and could see almost everything around her. She seemed to be having fun, her eyes darting around excitedly.

As for Iñigo, when he realized that being strapped into the baby carrier looked fun, he grew jealous. But Maya was there to carry him, so he didn't feel too sad. He wrapped his arms tightly around her neck, clinging to her. Next time, he would ask his parents to let him use the baby carrier. He wanted to try it too.

The family hired a tricycle parked at the small tricycle station near their neighborhood. After today, they wouldn't have to hire one anymore since they had their own.

By the time they reached the welding shop, it was already 3 pm, and the sun was glaring above them.

"Karlos, right? Here's the tricycle. Inspect it. If there's anything you want to add, just let me know." The shop owner showed the tricycle to the family. It was parked right in front of the shop, quite far from the welding area inside.

Karlos was impressed and inspected the tricycle meticulously. Of course, Arabella also saw what Karlos was seeing since she was in the baby carrier. She babbled excitedly at the brand-new vehicle. It looked nice, almost gleaming under the sunlight.

"We'll take it." Karlos smiled and shook hands with the shop owner.

"Don't forget to recommend our shop to your friends if they want a sidecar," the owner laughed heartily.

"I'll keep that in mind." Karlos nodded, still admiring the vehicle.

He was about to sit on the tricycle when Maya spoke first.

"Let me get Arabella inside. If she's with you, she'll face the wind and might get cold."

"Alright." He stepped aside without hesitation.

Arabella was confused about why her parents were taking her out of the baby carrier. She had been having fun! Although she admitted that being free from the straps was better since she could move freely now.

When Arabella was freed from the baby carrier, Iñigo pointed at it and said, "Mama, me, up, up!"

"Oh sweetie, we can't use the baby carrier now. Papa is going to drive," Maya said, gently stroking his cheek.

Iñigo felt sad, and tears gathered in his eyes, but he tried not to cry. Maya quickly promised that they would buy toys on the way back instead to calm him. Iñigo reluctantly agreed.

They had nothing else to do except take the tricycle home. Karlos and Maya had actually planned to eat at a nice local restaurant, but they decided to postpone it. They knew how difficult it was to move around with kids in their arms, especially since both children were particularly active today.

Iñigo didn't forget about Maya's promise. His eyes eagerly scanned the road. He remembered that there was a toy store near their neighborhood, which he considered his dream house.

"Ma!" He pointed ahead.

"Alright, alright, we'll buy a toy for you. But only one."

"Hm." He accepted the condition.

The tricycle stopped in front of the toy store, and the kids were excited to see so many toys on display. Maya held their hands tightly, knowing they might run off and cause a scene.

"Let me carry Iñigo."

Karlos scooped up his son, and they went inside the store together. Iñigo spotted a big toy car and instantly liked it. Naturally, Karlos bought it. If his son wanted a toy, consider it done, as long as it wasn't dangerous or too expensive.

Iñigo also noticed his sister choosing a toy and he pouted slightly. That was unfair. Arabella had already had fun sitting in the baby carrier, and now she was getting a new toy too?

Karlos could see through his son's feelings. He gently rubbed his head and whispered, "You can choose another toy, but don't show it to your sister. This will be our secret, alright?"

Iñigo's frustration disappeared instantly. He nodded happily. Now he wasn't sad anymore. He chose another toy car with a different design.

When they returned to the beachside, some of their neighbors saw a brand-new tricycle parked in front of Karlos's house. The family stepped out of the tricycle, attracting curious gazes.

"Hey, Karlos, is that tricycle yours?" one of the neighbors asked.

"Yeah, it's mine. We bought one for transportation," Karlos answered. There was no point in hiding it. People would find out anyway.

"Wow." The neighbor whistled.

The neighbors were surprised, but they also expected it. Lately, the Alejandro family had been improving. Just a year ago, they had nothing.

Some neighbors congratulated them, while others looked at them with envy.

Karlos opened the gate and parked the tricycle under the shed.
