Riven's head was a mess. No matter how hard he tried, he still couldn't remember what happened last night. His memories were jumbled, and he couldn't piece them together.
"Tch… whatever," he muttered, rubbing his temples. "Azerin knows my identity now. At least I don't have to keep pretending around him."
However, that wasn't his plan! Revin still wished to live his life as a beta until he was free from all the shackles.
He sighed, slipping out and heading toward the servant quarters. It was already late, almost noon, and thankfully, no one was around to see him in those damn clothes.
If anyone saw him, they could easily notice that it was their Alpha's clothes.
Riven pushed open the door to his room and stepped in quickly, shutting it behind him. He didn't waste time, peeling off the master's clothes and throwing them aside.
But then, he picked it up and folded it carefully. He still needed to give them to Azerin.
Revin then pulled on a plain shirt, tugged up the trousers he always wore.
He grabbed the suppressant patch from the drawer, paused for a second, then pressed it to his skin under the collarbone.
It felt uncomfortable, but at least now, no one would smell what he was.
"Hah…" He let out a breath and dropped onto the bed. His stomach growled the moment he sat down. He was still thinking of going to the servant's kitchen…
Just then, someone knocked.
"Coming," Riven muttered and dragged his lazy self to the door.
It was the butler. Riven didn't need to ask; he already knew why he was there…
"Is Master looking for me?" he asked in a low voice.
The butler gave a small smile and nodded. "Yes, but before that… Alpha said you need to eat first and be ready for the rest of the day."
Riven blinked. "Excuse me?" His heart thundered in his chest. What the hell did that mean?
Be ready for what? His pulse quickened. Don't tell me he's planning to pick up where he left off yesterday…
He shook his head quickly. No. It didn't matter. He wasn't in heat now. If Azerin tried anything, Riven would protest firmly.
The butler didn't say much; he just asked him to see Alpha in his studies in half an hour.
Without another word, he went to the kitchen, grabbed a quick bite, and then made his way to the Alpha's study just like he was told.
Riven knocked.
The door creaked open, and Soren stood there, already scowling at him.
"What the hell are you doing here?" he spat, eyes narrowing. He looked ready to slam the door shut in his face.
"Let him in."
Azerin's cold and commanding voice interrupted him.
Soren stiffened and stepped aside without another word.
Riven didn't say anything. He just walked in with his head hung low. He stood there waiting for whatever his master had planned for him.
"Here. Take it."
Before Riven could even react, a box came flying toward him.
He barely caught it, stumbling a little, but didn't drop it.
"What is it?" Riven asked, eyeing the box in his hands. "Why are you giving me a cell phone?" His brows drew together in suspicion.
Soren scoffed. He was already annoyed at his presence, and now he had the audacity.... "What are you questioning the Alpha for?" he snapped. "Just take what you're given."
Riven held back the urge to roll his eyes.
"I'm just saying," he muttered, steadying his tone. "I'm nothing but a servant here. And as far as I know, we're not allowed to keep things like this."
Soren opened his mouth, probably to throw more shit his way, but Azerin didn't give him the chance.
"This isn't Kendrick's territory," Azerin cut in in a firm tone. "And he's not your master anymore."
His eyes locked onto Riven's with a quiet intensity and looked dead serious.
"You belong to me now," Azerin said. "You're not a servant. You're my personal assistant."
He took a slow step forward.
"I want you to be reachable all the time. So that you can't make any excuses."
Riven's throat tightened; he felt suffocated. 'How am I even different from a servant?' He scoffed inwardly.
"You'll answer when I call," Azerin continued in a low and dangerous tone. "And you'll stay close unless I tell you otherwise."
Riven didn't say anything. He just nodded.
Azerin's gaze was locked on Revin as if he was waiting for him to refute. But even after a minute or so… when Riven didn't say anything, he growled and brushed his hand through his hair.
"Let's go," he rose to his feet and turned on his heels to leave.
Riven was right! He wasn't allowed to keep a cell phone as per his status, but since Azerin wanted to keep an eye on him, he had bugged his cell phone.
Now, Azerin could not only know about his location, but also whom he talked to and what he was planning.
Soon, they were in the car. Soren was seated at the front seat while Revin was with the Alpha in the back.
'Don't tell me they are taking me somewhere else to torture?' Revin thought as he glanced at Azerin from the side, who was putting on a mask on his face.
"Is it a suppressant mask?" Revin muttered, but it was enough to gather Azerin's attention.
"It is!" Azerin responded. "And do remember not to leak my identity, if you did… You are done!"
Revin flinched and shut his mouth, looking away anywhere but at Azerin.
While Azerin's mind was full of thoughts. He had to look for Moonstone stone as per his father's instructions. However, he didn't wish to reveal his identity during this quest.
So, he had disguised himself as a representative of Alpha Azerin Noctaire, and was on his way to attend a meeting with an influential Alpha of the city.
'I hope to get something from here… Otherwise, I don't mind killing the whole city to get something out of them!' He thought.
