At that moment, two versions of Kasha were leading a fleet through an unknown sector of the void. This was the Cryptus System, where a cataclysmic war had erupted not long before.
The fleets of the Imperium of Man had engaged in a fierce struggle against the tendrils of Hive Fleet Leviathan. The Necrons had also been drawn into the conflict. In the end, the Necrons activated an ancient weapon within the system, the Great Prism, and successfully detonated a gas giant. The explosion annihilated all biological life within the system.
The Tyranids departed, as did humanity, leaving space to the Necrons who enjoyed a rare peace.
Within the Cryptus System, on an uninhabited planet on the fringe named Perdita, lay the Tomb World of the Necrons.
This was the territory of the Mephrit Dynasty.
The Mephrit Dynasty was a Necron sub-faction that had specialized in stellar destruction engineering during the War in Heaven. At the height of their dynasty, their Crypteks possessed cutting-edge technology capable of effortlessly extinguishing stars.
They could easily catalyze a mature sun into a supernova state. Furthermore, the members of the Mephrit Dynasty were more adept than any other Necron dynasty at harvesting inexhaustible energy from the depths of stars.
When the Great Sleep began, this dynasty's Tomb Worlds were concentrated within the Ultima Segmentum. The ruler here was the Necron Overlord Zarathusa.
An Inquisitor aboard the Imperial ship gave a detailed report of the situation to the two Kashas.
Both women possessed immense backgrounds. It was said that both were daughters of the Emperor; however, one had been granted the title of Eldest Princess, while the other held only the title of Imperial Inquisitor.
Although their positions seemed similar in a broad sense, the Inquisitor dared not treat the Emperor's daughter as a mere equal and showed great respect to both.
"I heard that the Necron who cooperated with Dante here was supposed to be someone called Anrakyr the Traveller. Why has it become Zarathusa?" 40k Kasha asked with some confusion.
"Inquisitor Kasha, the Necron who cooperated with us was indeed Anrakyr the Traveller, but this planet belongs to the Necron Overlord Zarathusa," Dante stood up and explained. "This dynasty is somewhat special. They currently lack their own Phaeron and are in a period of chaos. Powerful Necron Overlords are essentially vying for the throne of the Phaeron."
"Oh? How did their Phaeron die?" asked Kasha, the wife of Axis.
The technological level of the Necrons was exceedingly high. Any high-ranking Necron was virtually immortal and could not be killed by conventional means. To kill them, one required special methods that ordinary civilizations did not possess, and even humanity had yet to master.
"Ladies, the Mephrit Phaeron, Khyrek the Eternal, was assassinated by an Eldar assassin," Mephiston stood and said. "The Eldar are ancient enemies of the Necrons. They possess a method to permanently kill them."
"I see. They probably used psychic power," a voice said as a golden light flashed through the ship. Axis appeared directly on the bridge, accompanied by Sanguinius.
The surrounding Space Marines immediately raised their bolt rifles in alarm, intending to attack, but they were stopped by Dante and Mephiston. They had clearly seen that the arrival was their Father, and following by his side was likely the myth of a man.
This was Axis, the Primarch of a new age, possessing the most terrifying combat power, whom the great Father Sanguinius himself had admitted was far superior in strength.
"Axis, you're here. It seems that tiny Tyranid fleet has been dealt with," Kasha looked at her man with a smile.
Her tone was filled with a sense of boasting and pride, which made the 40k Kasha grind her teeth in envy.
With Axis's strength, cleaning up a Tyranid fleet was practically effortless.
Axis smiled but did not speak. In the latest lore regarding the Pariah Nexus, Guilliman had led Battle Group Kallides of the Indomitus Crusade into conflict with the Silent King of the Necron Dynasties.
It was the first time a Primarch had directly faced the threat of the Necrons. However, high-ranking Necrons slain by Guilliman wielding the Emperor's Sword could not resurrect.
Much like Daemons slain by the weapon, Necrons cut down by the god-weapon once used by the Emperor could not utilize their Reanimation Protocols.
Thus, the Eldar had ways to kill high-ranking Necrons, and so did Axis and the current Sanguinius.
It had to be remembered that on his own ship, Solus Prime, there was a Necron Chronomancer kept in captivity, a Necron whom Axis had granted a soul through special means.
The Necrons of his own world had not yet awakened on a large scale, but ten thousand years later, the Necrons had begun to wake en masse.
By the late stages of the Indomitus Crusade in the 42nd Millennium, they would be almost fully awake and at war with the Imperium of Man.
Before his transmigration, many Warhammer fans had discussed whether the Necrons would ally with humanity in the future to fight against the threat of the Tyranids.
But facts proved that humanity had thought too highly of the situation. In the eyes of the Necrons, humans and Tyranids were merely disgusting, lower life forms.
"Great father, Lord Axis, how do you intend to communicate with this Necron?" Dante stepped forward and asked.
"Dante, what is your relationship with these Necrons?" Sanguinius asked.
"We only reluctantly united due to the Tyranid cause. However, in the late stages of the battle, when these Necrons detonated the gas giant, they paid no heed to whether we lived or died. So, although I have fought alongside these Necrons, we cannot even be considered allies," Dante replied.
He wanted to distance himself from these xenos as much as possible.
Had it not been a desperate necessity to protect their homeworld, he would never have joined forces with such a disgusting xenos. This was one of the few stains on his life.
Furthermore, this Necron Overlord, Zarathusa, was completely different from Anrakyr the Traveller. Anrakyr maintained a complete mind, whereas the Necron Overlord on this planet had lost quite a few faculties.
"Then that makes it much simpler. It is a perfect opportunity to test your combat capabilities. Mephiston, and Dante, take your brothers and capture this Necron Overlord alive for me! I need to extract information about Trazyn the Infinite from his mouth," Sanguinius said.
If the Necrons did not view humans as equals, then he would not treat this xenos as a subject for negotiation. Destroying them directly was sufficient. This star system would eventually return to the Imperium of Man anyway.
Arguments that these were their ancient territories held no weight. They had slept for sixty million years; the place had new masters now.
"As you command! Great Father, the Blood Angels fight for you," Dante and Mephiston said in unison.
Currently, the two of them had already consumed the Fruit of the Tree of Might, which drastically enhanced their physical bodies.
They had also completed the rubicon surgery to become Primaris Space Marines. Their strength was several times greater than before.
They had absolute confidence in cleaning up this remnant Necron force.
Under the command of Chapter Master Dante of the Blood Angels, several hundred Blood Angels assembled.
Then, led by Chief Librarian Mephiston, they utilized psychic teleportation to conduct a boarding strike directly onto the Necron territory.
Dante and Mephiston exchanged a glance, needing no further words. The will of the father was the command, and the objective was clear: capture Overlord Zarathusa alive.
Hundreds of Blood Angels clad in crimson power armor vanished instantly from the Imperial bridge amidst the explosive brilliance of Mephiston's psychic might, leaving only the faint ripples of a warp jump.
In the next instant, they descended upon the surface of Perdita, cold, silent, and covered in geometric constructs, right at the entrance to the Mephrit Dynasty's tomb complex.
A blitz!
There were no probing attacks, no warnings.
Mephiston, already a formidable Chief Librarian, now stood like a psychic demigod walking the mortal plane, bolstered by the Fruit of the Tree of Might and his Primaris physiology.
He raised his force weapon, the Scythe of the Sacred Blood. The crystal atop the staff erupted with light that tore through reality as a torrent composed purely of destructive psychic energy slammed viciously into the tomb world's seemingly indestructible eldritch green energy barrier.
The barrier fluctuated violently, emitting a piercing screech. It held for merely a few seconds before shattering into sky-filling particles of light with a deafening boom, revealing the deep, green metal tomb entrance covered in ancient glyphs below.
"For Sanguinius! For the Emperor! For Lord Axis!" Dante's roar resonated across the battlefield through the vox-grille of his Mark X Tacticus armour, as he raised his legendary chainsword which let out a bloodthirsty howl.
Clad in his artificer armour, he was like a crimson avatar of death, the first to charge into the breached entrance. Following close behind were hundreds of Blood Angels brothers, their battle spirits boiling and their strength surged.
Bolt rifles spewed tongues of fire and newly equipped grav-weapons tore through the air, precisely picking off the Necron Warriors and Flayed Ones that surged from the darkness with swift but hasty movements.
Enhanced reaction speeds and strength made the Blood Angels move like fish in water within the narrow tomb corridors, beating back the caught-off-guard Necron defenders at every turn.
Alarm shrieks echoed deep within the tomb. The glow of gauss energy fire interlaced within the gloomy passages. The Necron Overlord Zarathusa had awakened and began to direct his subordinates in battle.
The Blood Angels' advance was unstoppable. The resilience of the Primaris Marines combined with the supernatural regeneration granted by the Fruit of the Tree of Might, along with the psychic shield projected by Mephiston, allowed them to charge head-on against the disintegration beams of the gauss weaponry.
Mephiston's psychic shield acted as a moving fortress, deflecting the fiercest firepower for the assault team, while his psychic lightning and mind-shredding blasts precisely paralyzed the Necron war machines, the Destroyers and swarms of Canoptek Scarabs.
