Chapter 7 - Oasis

"Alright, I'll show this just once, ok" with two wooden swords in hand, Adahlia began to swing her body, moving fluidly and with grace almost like she was dancing. As Adahlia steps forward, she swings her arms together, and when she spins, her arms were apart.

Her rhythm were mesmerizing, and each step she takes was consistent and precise. Adahlia leaps forward, she swings lows and when she lands, she counter-spin while stepping back. Following with an upward slash and a back spin, Gray cut one of Dabrick's clones in half.

As the clone breaks down, Dabrick lunges at Gray, but he quickly backs step. Using his sheath, Gray spun around deflecting Dabrick's attack and using the momentum to kick him in the head, blowing it off as the real Dabrick ejected once again.

Their move was simple, surrounding the opponent and waiting for an opening to strike, but Gray's stance was open almost like he was waiting. Stepping to the side as Dabrick lunged at him. Gray countered by driving his elbow into his back, sending him to the floor.

Coming from behind, Dabrick's clone tried to strike Gray back, but quickly turning around Gray pointed at him. Recognizing the gesture, the clone panicked and changed direction, not allowing Gray to lock on.

"For someone who moves with fluid motion. He does not lack any power behind his strikes." Dabrick thought to himself.

Changing tactics, Dabrick got off the floor and took out smoke bombs from his coat. Throwing them in the air the arena was enveloped in smoke.

Gray looked around, unable to see his surroundings and unable to hear Dabrick's footsteps due to the music that was played around the arena. A dagger was thrown at him, narrowly dodging it, only cutting Gray's cheek.

"There's something strange about this kid," Dabrick thought to himself. "His ether is running inward instead of outward, and his color of ether is a darker shade instead of a brighter shade of violet"

A second dagger was thrown, and Gray jumped back. Taking advantage of the smoke Dabrick came close to Gray and was ready to strike. Gray was ready to strike back, swing his sheath, but a whip wrapped around his wrist and pulled, disrupting his rhythm. Gray missed and was left wide open. Dabrick, taking a chance, aimed for Gray's chest.

[Semi-Caliber; Muro]

Dabrick crashed face-first into the barrier. Muro allows Gray to place a wall of

barriers without the use of a gesture.

[Ruptua]

The whip snapped, releasing Gray and he was able to strike down Dabrick's clone.

"I guess I'm done using it for the rest of the day," Gray said to himself as the smoke began to clear. The veins on the back of his hand turn black.

Back at the VIP lounge, Berkley was observing the fight below. "Page, do you recognize that technique?"

"It looks like a similar version of the Dancing Blade, but the way he is using it seems more defensive."

"Wait? Wasn't that developed by the country of Mirianea?"

"No, it was popularized by Mirianea during the Siege of Itzá Ruins twenty years ago."

Taking a seat, Berkley put his hand on his forehead. "Twenty years, that battle still feels like it was yesterday. There were many notable figures; The Wind Demon, Dragon Slayer, Queen's Guardian, and Hydra."

"What is the next course of action?"

Lighting a cigar, Berkley said in a steady voice, "I was hoping to call Valkyrie and Riki, but you and Jin will have to fight."

Lifting her palms as a ball of water formed. "Are you ready Jin?"

Jin was still uneasy while holding his shoulder "Ready as I ever be." The ball of water was launched, breaking apart, turning into ice, raining down.

Taking a knee, Gray, covering the back of his head, was being crushed by the relentless waves of ice raining down on him, as Page created more water for Jin to convert to ice. Slowly standing up, Gray pointed at the VIP lounge.

[Semi-Caliber; Barrera, Lance]

Gray's barrier launched and crashed at the base; the floor collapsed, dropping both Page and Jin. Quickly catching Page, she created more water, and Jin turned it into an ice slide to slide down to the arena.

Gray, with his back turned, his pants slightly ripped, and the back of his shirt torn, revealing a scar like someone trying to pierce his heart, but strangely, he doesn't seem injured. Gray dusting himself off like the attack was just an inconvenience rather than a threat. The dead vein originally on the back of Gray's right hand has extended to the middle of his forearm.

"So that makes three opponents," Gray said softly as he turned to see Jin letting Page down.

Staring at Page, the way she positioned herself, choosing to stay behind Jin at most for support.

"You're not a fighter," Gray said as he put his sheath back on his side. Jin converted the slide into multiple spikes and launched at Gray.

Gray, taking a step, dashes forward, deflecting the spikes as they fly towards him. Drawing closer, panicked Jin used the remaining ice to create a wall of ice separating them, but Gray ended up crashing straight through the wall.

"He didn't brace himself, how crazy is this kid?" Jin thought before Gray used the hilt of the sword striking his face. Stumbling back, Gray flipped his sword, changing its grip and holding it with a reverse grip.

Place his leg between Jin's legs, Gray with his right arm wrapped around Jin, with his elbow placed against the back of his neck, and the blade close to his throat. Gray, using his other arm, grabbed Jin's right arm and started pulling him downward.

Jin, surprised by Gray's strength, was struggling to hold himself. With his left arm free, he tried to manipulate the surrounding ice. Gray, noticing Jin's action, eased his hold, allowing Jin to pull himself up, but the change was sudden. Gray pulled back his right leg and immediately pulled down. Using his knee Gray struck Jin repeatedly in the gut, knocking the wind out of him.

Letting Jin fall to the floor, holding his gut he turned to look at Page. She stood there terrified. Jin tried to call for her but quickly realized Gray projected the crimson beast, but unknowingly that if she had stepped in, Jin would have lost his head.

Something was thrown at Gray, and quickly catching it was the whip that he had cut earlier. "DID YOU FORGET ABOUT ME!?" Dabrick shouted with daggers ready to strike. Stepping to the side, Gray dodged, "Predictable." Dabrick began to summon his clone from his side, but the moment that the arms formed, Gray sheathed his sword. Grabbing the arms of the clone, Gray pulled and forced the clone out.

"How is that possible? His ether was able to flow into my clone. Does he bend ether itself?"

Using the clone, Gray swings it back at Dabrick, slamming it down, destroying the clone, and knocking him out.

Walking towards Page, Gray flicked her in the head, "I don't go after non-combative, that's just dishonorable."

The ring on Gray and Berkley's fingers began to glow. Berkley's ring shattered, and Gray turned silver; it was official, Gray had won the match.
