Chapter 56 - Poison girl on the street

When Ars heard that, he couldn't help but laugh at the idea, he was powerful enough that in some places some people would consider him a divine existence, he could imagine going to Alabasta to make it rain, he wondered what would be the reactions of people around... What he didn't realize until now, was that messing with the weather had changed some people's fate.

His storms had caused new storms to appear, and some existing ones to disappear. Thanks to that, someone who wasn't supposed to get in trouble. Got in trouble, Ars simply hadn't realized his mistake.

Ars was reading a newspaper, where new information about the pirate crew that he assumed tried to send a spy to his kingdom, the bloodied saber pirates, appeared.

At first he wasn't too interested, but soon, he changed his mind. Instead of waiting for them to come to him, he decided to go to them.

First he wanted to awaken his conqueror's haki, and having no such luck so far he was starting to get frustrated… He needed something to vent off.

Ars believed that anyone could actually awaken conqueror's haki, but they weren't able to because it needed a certain mentality.

Every simple person who had it, almost never backed down, no matter the risks.

So Ars thought that in reality conquerors haki was born out of the determination to press forward and crush all enemies and opponents that stood in the way, no matter the odds.

Second, maybe the enemy would be stronger than he expected and would push him hard enough to learn it.

And finally third, killing them would be a good way to train his soldiers.

He looked at Solana, and asked seriously.

"Call Rook, Kuina and Fierzy."

"Yes, your majesty."

Close to an hour later, they arrived curious about the reason for being called. greeting Ars, as they arrived.

Fierzy and Rook greeted him first.

"Your majesty."

Kuina followed, but with a different type of greeting, she approached him and gave him a kiss.

Finally Ars started explaining the reasons for calling them all here.

"I called you all here to announce that we will be taking the fight to a group of pirates that previously tried to send a spy to our kingdom. They dropped the anchor a few kingdoms away. And it will be a good chance to sharpen everyone's fangs."

They all nodded. And Ars introduced them to the people who would go on this mission.

"On this mission, we will be taking our strongest soldiers on the island, now the question is…"

Ars stopped, looked at Kuina, and continued.

"Do you want to come?"

Everyone there understood why he asked Kuina that.

For a while now Kuina served as the figurehead behind the military forces, but it was mainly logistics, inland safe operations and training.

So now she might want to fight like a soldier or a warrior or not.

Kuina smiled and declared.

"As long as you don't forbid me, I will be going, I really want to try my sword skills on the enemy."

Kuina then added a question that was bothering everyone besides Ars.

"Well, do you have any idea of who will be going… I know you said the strongest will be going, but we don't have an official ranking, so it might be hard to determine who is the strongest between the soldiers. I know we have the way to know who is the strongest attacker but… The strongest attacker might not be the strongest in a fight…"

Ars nodded, Kuina had posed a good question.

Ars then proceed to explain.

"To start with, we will be taking both Rook and Fierzy for obvious reasons. Next we will be taking our dear fallen princess Kina, and her knights. Finally we will be taking the ones who do better in the training tomorrow. And you will be the one ranking them."

They all nodded, prepared themselves mentally and went to inform the soldiers of the operation and the prerequisites to join. Kuina left, wondering the best way to rank the soldiers for tomorrow's training.

The next day everyone gave his best, and the soldiers that would be taken were decided.

In total 80 people would go.

Everyone started making preparations for the new mission the following day. And by the next morning they were departing.

Kuina was the most excited of everyone, this was the first trip at sea in her whole life. Looking at this, Ars was a bit worried so he called Kina and Fierzy. When they arrived, they greeted him, before asking the reason for their summoning.

While Fierzy had been with Ars longer it was Kina who started speaking first, and Fierzy just listened, she was still getting to the being polite mentality, she was better than before but still didn't give that much thought into politeness, it was already nice that she didn't just barge in and asked for answers.

"Your majesty. May I inquire about the reason to request our presence?"

Ars smiled at them, and replied calmly.

"I called you here, to request that you keep an eye on Kuina, it's her first trip at sea, and her first time in an actual conflict. So keep an eye on her if you can."

They both nodded, with Fierzy smiling and commenting.

"I still remember my first time at sea, and my first actual fight. There is something about the sea that whispers to you, to go on a voyage, and honestly I get it. The first trip is always something special."

Ars nodded, he understood what Fierzy was saying. Being at the sea was dangerous, yes, but it was also exciting and relaxing at the same time. A strange mix, one that attracted all sorts of people towards it without themselves realizing.

They swiftly sailed towards the closest kingdom to the islands where the bloodied saber pirates would be anchored according to the news.

The plan was simple, rest, and prepare themselves for the following day. But unexpectedly, someone else had arrived on this island, quite wounded and tired.

Once they arrived, Ars decided to go for a walk with Kuina. As they were exploring the island and visiting shops, they started to hear a loud voice in the distance. Ars looked at Kuina, who nodded and quickly confirmed their choices.

"Let's go check what's happening."

When they approached, they saw a grown man with golden hair, a strange mustache and a golden helmet with some '66' markings.

Most people around Ars might not recognize the man specifically, but Ars did. Vismonke Judge, one of the few people Ars actually hated.

And the person he was screaming against, was none other than his daughter.

Everyone around could hear him screaming at her angrily, and full of disappointment.

"How useless are you, that you nearly got killed by a storm? You probably got hindered by those useless emotions!"

"I didn't! I got wounded by an enemy and the wounds got worse because of the sudden storm."

"Worthless excuses!"

Ars thought of Vismonke Judge as delusional, paranoid and very selfish, the man cared about 2 things, his successful experiments in other word his sons without emotions and gaining power.

Ars considered Vismonke Judge one of the most disgusting existences in one piece, between very few others.

Vismonke Judge was so angry that Reiju had nearly died from a storm, that he actually physically attacked her in front of everyone, while saying more cruel stuff.

Kuina by Ars' side was preparing herself to attack Judge, but Ars stopped her. He was stronger than them. She looked at Ars and demanded.

"Why?"

Ars didn't explain anything immediately. He just muttered.

"Not now, I will explain later."

She looked at him, unpleased with the decision but stopped trying to attack. She just stood there, with a face that screamed, i am angry at you, at least until you give me a valid reason for stopping me from killing that scumbag.

After Judge attacked Reiju, much to her disbelief, she accidently showed hatred towards him, which resulted in a giant beatdown. She just stood there while he attacked her, not being able to defend herself because of her genetic modifications.

Some guards approached trying to stop him but he killed them all on the spot.

Finally Judge attacked Reiju with a strike that nearly took her life, then took out a burning paper from one of his pockets, and drooped it on her, while he declared indifferently.

"What can you expect from a prototype? At least now you will join the other failure, and leave only the perfect creations. Goodbye, you served your purpose until now."

Then, Judge left quickly, and Ars instantly advanced and grabbed Reiju, taking her into his laboratory, putting her in the second tube as fast as he could.

The laboratory quickly gave the alarm.

"Patient, under extreme life risk. Initiating protocols to repair damage."

It didn't take long for Reiju's body to be submerged and full of IV tubes.

Ars stored her Vivre card and left the laboratory.

Outside he quickly met back with Kuina, whose face demanded answers. He smiled, put his arm around her waist, and pulled her along to keep shopping and checking this kingdom out.

She looked at him, unpleased by the lack of explanation, pushed him back and declared angrily.

"You better give me a good reason for stopping me from killing that disgusting bastard."

Ars smiled calmly at her and questioned her warmly. He was quite happy that she wanted to protect Reiju.

"What do you want to know?"

She nodded a bit more pleased, before replying concisely.

"Why did you stop me?"

He nodded and returned a question.

"What do you think the relation between those 2 was?"

She paused, she thought about it, and finally she answered like it was obvious.

"Enemies!"

He crossed his arms, and answered jokingly.

"Bzzz, Wrong! They are father and daughter."

Kuina stooped, looking at him incredulous. Ars then continued.

"Have you heard of Germa 66 ?"

She nodded and said, confused about the question…

"Of course, Germa 66 is a fake evil army in a comic on the World Economic Journal's comics, some people even take it as a mythical evil existence."

So Ars kept going.

"Well, they are evil alright, at least most of their commanders and leaders. And the World Economic Journal uses comics to make them look the part, but make no mistake, they are real, and the man you just saw nearly killing his daughter is none other than the Germa 66 ruler."

Kuina's eyes went completely wide. Then Ars added one last bit of information.

"Around 300 years ago they conquered the entire North blue, but were later defeated. They are now a technologically advanced group of mercenaries."

Kuina was completely shocked, she didn't know what to say.

The fact that a father nearly killed his own daughter, the fact that a comic evil organization that she thought was fake, was actually based on a real group. She couldn't help but make a joke.

"The father tried to kill the daughter, this comic is not that good, we should replace it with something better and lighter…"

Ars laughed a bit and added.

"Those comics should definitely only be read by mature audiences!"

She made a break then snapped.

"Seriously… What the hell…"

Ars couldn't help but laugh about her reaction.

After that Ars and Kuina kept going, shopping here and there, trying to forget what just happened.

When they returned to the ship, Ars started introducing the well known enemies.

"Let me start introducing the principal enemies for tomorrow."

They all sat quietly surrounding Ars. Waiting for him to continue.

"First there are 2 opponents worth mentioning straight away. The captain and the vice-captain. The captain got the moniker Bloody wind, due to his wind logia and using a saber, killing the enemies fast, and pulling their blood on his wind because of that speed."

He paused before he kept going.

"The vice-captain is known as an energy man. He ate the energy energy no mi and he is capable of manipulating energies. Don't look down on him, it is a stupidly powerful akuma on mi in the right hands, while it can't stop attacks it can manipulate the surrounding energies to empower his attacks, himself and quickly recover stamina, among other things, it's just his user who is garbage."

Rook commented lightly.

"Recently, I heard that there was a gigantic storm with several tornadoes that nearly wiped an entire kingdom from the map, was it these 2?"

Ars nodded and explained.

"Yes, alone their fruits can be considered strong, but together they are way more dangerous since they can empower elemental attacks by quite a bit, that tornado being an example."

Fierzy wasn't impressed.

"So basically they can only do that strong attack together…"
