Once inside the room with the door locked securely behind us, I carried Rachel in my arms toward the bed before carefully releasing her onto the mattress. She bounced slightly on the soft surface, looking up at me with a mixture of nervousness and anticipation.
I placed my flashlight on the TV shelf directly across from the bed, the beam casting long shadows across the room.
"I'm kind of very nervous..." Rachel admitted softly as she sat up on the bed, quickly removing her shoes and outer shirt to reveal a simple sleeveless undershirt that clung to her curves.
"Everyone seems busy right now," I reassured her as I removed my own shoes, setting them aside neatly. "Let's just take advantage of this opportunity. And these walls seem pretty thick—Rebecca and Daisy won't hear us from their rooms."
We were at the opposite end of the floor, after all.
