Chapter 24 - TWENTY-FOUR

 It was awkward as Lana walked out of her room, walked past the dining, made her way to the living room, only to bump into Alexander.

 Their bodies were barely in collision but their unexpected presences were enough to send a wave of cold air into the room. Immediately, they both took several steps backwards, Lana fumbling with the strap of her bag while Alexander glanced at his wristwatch a bit too many times.

 It was the second morning after their last argument and the first time they were running into each other. They'd both managed to stay away from each other despite staying in the same house and though neither of them knew that could last for much longer, they still weren't prepared to run into each other like that.

 Alexander cleared his throat then resumed walking, reminding the both of them they had no reason to acknowledge each other's presence. He was only a couple steps away though when Lana called out to him, forcing him to stop.
