Lana could have rejected Nicholas' request to see her.
Or she could have postponed it till another day.
But for some reason, she didn't. and instead, told him the café she was with him promising to show up in ten minutes.
In exactly ten minutes, the bell at the door chimed, Nicholas keeping to his promise. He spotted her in an instant, immediately walking up to her to sit next to her.
"Lana," he called out to her as he took his seat easily. "I wasn't expecting you to actually be here. Or even take my call."
"What?" Nicholas' voice oddly managed to remind her of the fact that she still hadn't fully processed Andrew's words from earlier. "Why?"
"I don't know," he shrugged. "I just wasn't really expecting you to still want to see me."
"What is this about?" she massaged her forehead. "Why did you say we needed to meet? It sounded urgent."
"It is," he nodded, keeping his hands clasped in his lap. "Now, how do I begin? Talk about the last time we saw each other?"
