Chapter 75 - SEVENTY-FIVE

Lana gently shut the door to her room, the soft click sounding far louder than it should have. Her heart was hammering inside her chest, pounding so hard she swore it echoed in her ears. She pressed a trembling hand over her chest, as though she could will it to slow down, to calm the storm inside her. Her back found the solid surface of the door and she rested against it for a second, drawing in a shaky breath before her knees gave way and she slowly slid down until she was sitting on the floor.

"Oh my God," she whispered, barely recognizing her own voice.

Her breathing was still uneven, coming in quick, shallow bursts. Her heart refused to steady, its erratic rhythm feeding her panic. No, panic wasn't even the right word—this was worse. She was losing her mind. Completely and utterly losing it.

The kiss.

They kissed. Again.
