Goff: Are you heading towards the cafeteria? Let's have lunch together.
JK: (smiled) I would love to have lunch with you. But you know what? My baby doesn't like the way others stare at us when I feed him. So..... please excuse us. Let's go, baby!
Then he put his arms around Tae's shoulder and walked out quickly without giving anyone any chance to speak farther.
Coming out of the gymnasium, Jungkook smiled and let go of Tae. Tae grabbed his hand and took him away under the maple tree near the building.
Tae: Mind to explain your action earlier, Jungkookah?
JK: (smiled) What's there to explain? Isn't it obvious? I just declared him that you're my boyfriend.
Tae ran his fingers through the hair and sat down on the bench kept under the tree.
Tae: You must be out of your mind, aren't you?
Jungkook chuckled and took a seat beside him.
JK: Don't panic, babe! Did you see his reaction? Ouch! Even I could feel the flare in which his heart was burning.
Tae: (turned to him) Jungkook! It's not funny!
JK: (looked in his eyes) Why are you so serious always, Tae?
Taehyung glared at him, and he smiled.
JK: Look, this time, we both are mature enough to stop those stupid fights. So, I'm not gonna pick on you anymore. Plus, I told you, as long as I can make him suffer, I can help you with anything (leaning closer). Literally, anything.
Tae: But I don't want anything. Why aren't you understanding?
JK: It's you who is not trying to understand, Tae! Do you remember what he said? He said he's bored of you. How can someone ever be bored of you, Tae? You're the most interesting living being on earth.
Tae: So, you're saying the same shit.
Tae stood up angrily, and Jungkook frowned as he was clueless for a second.
Tae: I know I'm not handsome, you told me a thousand times before, moreover got the weirdest personality. But I thought you changed. I thought you won't make fun of it anymore. Well, I guess I was thinking too much.
JK: (got up) What? Tae, wait! That's not what I meant, I.....
Tae rushed away without listening to his explanation. Jungkook covered his face with palm and sat down again.
JK's POV: F***! I just made him upset, didn't I? How could I forget how I used to tease him calling INTERESTING? Great, Jungkook! You successfully managed to piss him off again. Is that how you're gonna show your maturity, huh? You can't even continue a conversation peacefully, let alone getting along with him.
Jungkook left a deep breath and brought out his phone.
Tae's POV: Interesting, huh? That's the only word you could find in your dictionary, Jeon F*cking Jungkook? And I, the greatest fool on earth, thought that you actually changed. Oh, please, Tae! How could you even imagine this sort of impossible things? Someone like him can never change, no way!
Tae was about to leave the campus as he was not in a mood to stay there anymore. He was walking away, cursing Jungkook underneath his breath. But no sooner he left his faculty area, he had to stop suddenly looking at a view.
It was Goff and his girlfriend, kissing, or more likely making out, behind a wide tree.
He could feel his eyes tearing up, and his legs were stuck with the ground. He bit his lips to hold his urge of breaking down again. Grabbing the trousers he was wearing, Tae formed a firm fist and grinned his teeth. He saw the girl smirked, looking at him. He felt like he couldn't hold anymore.
He was about to burst in tears and lose his balance when he felt a firm hold on his left and a hand from behind covered his eyes gently.
??: Don't let it fall, Tae! He's not worth it!
It was Jungkook. Tae already knew it from the voice, though he was the last of the people Tae expected at this moment.
But automatically, he let go of himself and leaned backwards on the masculine chest. Jungkook, as a response, held Tae by his waist and pulled him in his arms, giving him a tight hug that he needed most at that moment. Jungkook caressed his back and let him stay like that as long time as he wanted.
After quite a long time, when Tae calmed himself down and the sobbing was no more, Jungkook made him sit on a bench nearby and went to the cafeteria. After a few minutes, he came back with a hamburger and strawberry milkshake. Tae was about to say something, but he stopped him, saying, "Eat first."
Tae finished his meal silently. Then he raised his eyes to look at Jungkook, who was looking away, crossing his arms on his chest. He looked pretty angry and down. Before Tae could open his mouth, Jungkook spoke out.
JK: Tae, about earlier..... I'm sorry, but I didn't mean to upset you.
Judging by the tone, Tae knew they were in a serious conversation.
JK: In fact, I didn't call you interesting because you're weird. I called you interesting because you're not boring at all. Whatever I did in the past, it was all jokes of teenage, Tae! I never knew it... it could hurt you that much.
Jungkook hung his head low, maybe thinking about all those things that might or might not make Tae upset. Looking at that stressed-out bunny, Tae smiled.
Tae: Stop! Stop! You're scaring me, Jungkook! Don't act like that. About earlier, I was just upset, so I... I took it out on you, I guess.
Jungkook looked at him with furrowed eyes, and the next moment, Tae was laughing so hard, and Jungkook realized that Tae didn't take his words seriously at all.
JK: Ya! Kim Taehyung! Don't you dare to laugh at me! I'm not kidding at all.
Tae: Good joke!
JK: Ya! I'm serious!
Tae: OK, then what about earlier? That maturity, also giving an end to the stupid fights.... were you serious about it, too?
JK: What do you think? (done face)
Tae: So, you wanna get along with me now, and you're saying that you're super serious about it.
Jungkook was about to get up, but Tae held him back.
Tae: Don't be angry, man! We've been fighting probably 19 years. Now suddenly you're talking about getting along..... I'm just afraid you'd trick me again like you always do.
JK: Wait, when did I even trick you into serious issues like this?
Tae: (signed) Really, Jungkookah! You forgot how our fight started?
FLASHBACK
Jm: Are you sure he'll come back, bear? I didn't see him at home.
Tae: Don't worry, Chimmy! Jungkookah told me he would go to school to get the surprise gift for me.
Jm: And you believed him? He's very naughty, bear! He loves to play tricks on everyone.
Tae: He won't trick me. I trust him.
Jm: Then I'm leaving you. Mom will be searching for you
Tae nodded, and Jimin left for home. Tae was waiting for Jungkook in a park near school. It was his birthday. As his desk mate Jungkook left the gift that he prepared for Tae in his school locker, he went back to grab it.
At least, that's what he told Tae. Tae waited for him for a long time. He didn't leave even after the dusk. Soon, it was all dark around him. And in that darkness, suddenly someone appeared and tapped on his shoulder.
He slowly turned around only to witness a terrible creature and pass out screaming.
FLASHBACK ENDED
Tae: Stop laughing, Jeon F***ing Jungkook!
JK: Well, Tae! How was I supposed to know that you would freak out like that? I just wanted to surprise you.
Tae: Which kid won't freak out after seeing a ghost costume? I was barely a kid of 6 years old, idiot!
JK: And I was 4. (chuckled) Listen, it has nothing to do with the age. It's just you were Phasmophobic, and I didn't know that.
Tae: You could have explained it later! Did you?
JK: (smiled) Well, I was having a great time teasing you. So, I thought..... let's just keep pissing you off. You're so easy to piss.
Tae glared at Jungkook, and he smiled wholeheartedly.
JK: What happened is already past. I officially apologize on behalf of my younger self. Let's not talk about it anymore, please? At this moment, our focus should be on GETTING ALONE anyway, isn't it? So that we can take that MF down.
Tae: (furrowed) Hey! How did he end up being your target? Are you sure you're not in love with his girlfriend, Jungkook? Coz, apart from what he did to me, he's actually quite a nice guy. Why are you so into these revenge and staffs? You seem more eager than me. As if he cheated on you, not me.
JK: (smiled) Um.... There is a reason, a valid and reasonable one. I would tell you some day, but don't ask me now, it's a request. If you help me this time, I promise to repay you later with something even greater. Just promise me, Tae, please!
Tae: (signed) Alright! I'm in. Tell me the plan.
Tae's POV: This kid..... actually changed? Seems like it. I don't believe in everything I see, though. But this time, he sounds sincere. So, a little help won't hurt, right? Though I still haven't forgotten him, I'm sure this brat will keep me busy all the time, and I won't have to think about Goff that much.
