Just as I hadn't sorted out my thoughts about Saotome Seiko,
Something unusual happened that day.
Due to the weather, Tokyo had become exceptionally hot these past few days.
So in this unbearable heat, everyone decided to find a place to escape the summer.
Coincidentally, school was off for a few days.
This time, I really didn't use any gadgets—it was a genuine holiday.
So we decided on a three-day, two-night camping trip.
But then there was a dispute about where to go.
Suneo wanted the beach, Gian wanted the mountains.
Gian said he wanted to conquer the peaks all sweaty, while Suneo wanted the cool fun of playing in the sea.
But neither could convince the other.
Of course, in the end, it was up to Doraemon to decide, since only he could provide the gadgets.
And if Doraemon didn't go, the parents wouldn't allow it.
Doraemon got annoyed by their arguing and told them to think it over and come back.
But at that moment, a news report on TV caught my attention.
["A Spanish ship loaded with gold has been discovered, and salvage was planned to start immediately."]
["But strangely, the ship disappeared overnight."]
["Scholars speculate it might have been carried away by currents or they got the location wrong. Search is ongoing..."]
Seeing this news, I felt like I smelled something off, knowing this was probably leading to another special movie adventure.
But why so soon this time?
I hadn't even rested for a few days and wanted to play around a bit.
I thought it might just be a daily special episode or something, but in the Doraemon world, whenever major news appears on TV,
It usually ties into a massive Earth crisis.
But what kind of crisis this time?
I had a feeling this one was different from previous movies. In the past, if we lost, we could run, but now it might lead to a real world-ending crisis for Earth.
I was feeling pretty worried.
Until Suneo and Gian showed up looking like best buddies, coming to find Doraemon.
"Nobita, we're here for Doraemon. Is he around?" Suneo and Gian said, their faces full of excitement.
"What's up? Have you decided where to camp? Why aren't you arguing anymore?" I asked with a smile.
"No more arguing, no more!" They both shook their heads at the same time.
"What's going on? This is the first time I've seen you two so united!" I asked, puzzled.
"Did you hear about that hot news lately? The ship loaded with treasure?" Suneo leaned in mysteriously.
"I heard. What about it? Didn't it disappear?" I was a bit confused about what he wanted.
"That's why—we should go find that missing ship!" Suneo revealed his real plan.
"You mean..." I didn't say anything like "it's impossible," just thinking about how this movie adventure was unfolding so quickly, in that familiar way.
Suneo knew I probably understood why they were here for Doraemon.
"Exactly what you're thinking. With Doraemon's gadgets, we can definitely find that sunken ship."
"Think about it—how much treasure there'll be!"
"If we had that much money, Nobita, imagine how many things we could buy!"
Suneo said it like a little devil with tempting words, but I'm not like Gian behind him, drooling at Suneo's talk.
How could I be tempted? Besides, I don't lack money now!
I just rolled my eyes at them.
But then from Suneo's mouth, I heard the name Bermuda Triangle.
I roughly knew what this movie's plot was about.
If that's the case, then Earth is really in danger this time.
This time, I really had to save the world.
So I agreed to the plan and took them to find Doraemon.
"You want to go to Bermuda? But I was only planning to take you to the Pacific! Bermuda's in the Atlantic!"
"And we're going camping, not treasure hunting!"
Doraemon immediately objected after hearing Suneo and Gian.
"What's the difference which ocean? As long as we can camp, right?"
"Besides, just camping all the time would be boring. We can do some treasure hunting occasionally!"
"And with your gadgets, Doraemon, we'll be safe anywhere..."
Suneo kept buttering up Doraemon, softening his tone a lot.
Doraemon's the type who responds to softness, not hardness.
"Alright, alright! I get it!"
"But you guys better not mess around! Listen to me, got it?"
Doraemon looked helplessly at Suneo, who kept circling him.
"Okay, okay! We'll behave!" Suneo and Gian nodded repeatedly, looking very obedient—though whether they'd actually listen later was another story.
"So, Nobita, what's your opinion?" Even though Doraemon agreed to their idea, he didn't forget to ask me.
"It's fine. I think there's no problem." I knew we had to go to the Atlantis this time, and I had no reason to object.
"Alright then, it's settled. This camping trip is to the Bermuda Triangle." Doraemon officially set the destination.
"Yay!" Suneo and Gian jumped up and high-fived excitedly.
Doraemon didn't keep watching the thrilled duo; he had a lot to prepare.
He needed to call and tell Shizuka about this.
After all, it was originally a group of five!
We couldn't go without Shizuka.
He also had to call and inform everyone's parents to reassure them.
Doraemon really lives up to being a childcare robot.
Before every adventure, Doraemon always arranges these things properly.
Then he safely brings the kids home and hands them back to their parents.
It's like being both dad and mom.
This thoughtfulness and care is why parents trust him so much—not just because of the gadgets.
While Doraemon was making calls one by one, arranging things,
When he called Shizuka to tell her the camping destination,
Shizuka had no objections, but she had a slightly embarrassed request.
This request surprised me a bit!
I couldn't help but wonder in my heart, what on earth is going on?
