Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: Searching for the Demon World Chronicle

"Then, we can infiltrate the Demon Planet and defeat King Demaon!"

"Infiltrate the Demon Planet!" Doraemon looked surprised. This was way too dangerous—heading straight into the enemy's lair!

"But if we don't defeat the Great Demon King Demaon, they'll definitely come to Earth."

"At that point, my dad will be done for too!"

Miyoko said it all with such a pitiful expression.

"Please, I'm begging you two—can you help me?" Miyoko pleaded.

"Suddenly asking us to do something this terrifying! And going to the Demon Planet, no less."

"We've only got the three of us right now, and we're nowhere near prepared!"

Doraemon thought it over and turned Miyoko down.

I wanted to see what they were really up to, so I kept quiet.

"I get it, fine then! I can't drag you into this anymore! After all, this is my own problem."

With that, Miyoko summoned her flying carpet, looking all disappointed, and flew off.

But I had sharp eyes and noticed the mark on that flying carpet was different now—not a pentagram, but a hexagram, with black stars.

Miyoko's behavior left Doraemon feeling guilty; he straight-up said he shouldn't have let a girl handle something so dangerous all by herself.

After that, Doraemon and I headed back home.

I suggested to Doraemon that we should round up Shizuka and the others first to talk it over.

So, everyone gathered at my house.

"So, did Miyoko head off alone to find the Demon World Chronicle?" Gian asked as soon as he got to my house.

"We don't know!" Doraemon replied that we didn't.

"How could you let a girl go off on her own like that?" Gian got a bit worked up.

"But how can we just charge off to the Demon Planet? That's way too reckless!"

"All we know are basic levitation spells and broom-riding— just those two bits of magic!"

"We'd only end up being a burden to her."

Suneo had a different take on it.

That's when I finally figured out why the spells we'd come across before were so limited—sure enough, magic knowledge in this world is locked down.

"You're right about that!" Gian agreed helplessly.

Right then, fierce winds started howling outside, slamming against the windows nonstop, with dark clouds seeming to blanket the whole earth.

There were constant magic warning alarms blaring too.

Downstairs, Mom called out that she'd gotten in touch with the other parents, and they said not to head back yet.

Everyone should stay at my house tonight to ride out the typhoon.

"Sigh! Strong tornadoes and hurricanes are popping up all over the world now! The disaster zones keep expanding! Things are getting worse and worse!" Doraemon watched the chaos outside and sighed helplessly.

"It's because the Demon Planet is getting closer to Earth. If this keeps up, it'll be the end of the world!"

By then, the pink mouse in my pocket had gone still, and everyone was looking all sad and sighing.

Just as I was about to say something to cheer everyone up...

The window outside got knocked on, like something had smacked into it!

It wasn't just the wind—I looked closer, and it seemed like a magic letter.

Braving the gale, I let the incoming magic delivery fly into the house.

Good thing it was magic delivery; no way could anything get through in this typhoon otherwise.

"Is this the ancient document from Professor Mangetsu?"

"And a letter from Miyoko!"

We opened the magic delivery and found Miyoko's farewell letter inside, along with her leaving the ancient document behind.

"Let's go—we've gotta find Miyoko and save Earth!" Gian read it and got all fired up about tracking her down.

"Sure enough, she went off alone to find the Demon World Chronicle!" Doraemon sighed.

"Honestly, I don't wanna go, but instead of sitting here waiting for the Demon Planet to show up, we'd better take the fight to them," Suneo said, sounding scared but determined.

But after all that, nobody moved—they were waiting for the one who'd really make the call.

"Let's do it! We'll go find the Demon World Chronicle! With this document, we know where it is!" I slammed down the decision to adventure.

Everyone turned to look at me, relieved, and broke into smiles.

After a few adventures and seeing what I could do, they trusted me more now.

But the pink mouse in my pocket kept darting around like crazy, as if begging us not to go.

All I could do was calm the pink mouse down, stroking her smooth fur.

It was like petting a cat.

But then it hit me suddenly—wasn't this basically like touching all over Miyoko's body?

The thought made my hand freeze up, but seeing the pink mouse's face all blissed out, it was probably fine!

So, Doraemon pulled out the Anywhere Door.

But I wondered if the Anywhere Door would even work. Were the maps in the tech world and magic world the same?

But when Doraemon yanked open the Anywhere Door, right behind it was the icy glacier where the Demon World Chronicle was kept.

Who knew—the maps in the tech world and magic world matched up, and more importantly, the Anywhere Door worked just fine.

We stepped through the Anywhere Door and ended up in the snowy mountains, only to spot Miyoko up above, piloting her flying carpet.

She was dodging attacks from a huge swarm of humanoid demons riding red dragons.

A full-on chase was playing out right near where the Demon World Chronicle was hidden.

Seeing that, Doraemon stashed the Anywhere Door and quickly pulled out the air cannon, Rebounding Cloak, shock gun, and other gadgets.

He didn't even check if Shizuka and the others from the magic world could use them—just shoved them into their hands.

Miyoko, steering the flying carpet, spotted us too and rushed to scoop everyone up from the ground onto the carpet.

"Everyone, you came!" Miyoko looked totally touched.

But right then, the horde of red dragons behind us was still spewing Demon Realm fire, so we had no time to think—we just started fighting back.

Doraemon fired the air cannon and took down a red dragon in one shot.

From a distance, I controlled my telekinesis, zeroed in on one red dragon, clenched my hand, and its Demon Realm fire blew up, turning into a fireball that vanished in the air.

"Hang in there, everyone—it'll be okay once we reach the cave!" Miyoko said while maneuvering the flying carpet.

"Cave?" Doraemon asked, confused.

Miyoko looked exasperated—didn't you guys read the ancient document? It's all in there.

Who could've guessed we'd rushed over without even glancing at it.

But she explained anyway.

"That's where the Demon World Chronicle is stored. To keep the demons out, there's a barrier set up in the cave!"

After flying a bit more, we spotted a cave up ahead, surrounded by green prism pillars.

"There it is!" Miyoko gunned the flying carpet straight toward it.

"While I draw the demons' attention, you guys go grab the Demon World Chronicle!" Miyoko called out to us as she circled above the cave.

"Got it!"

Then, with Miyoko handling things outside, we used our copters to zip off the carpet and into the cave.

Doraemon worried Miyoko couldn't hold off the demons alone, so he stayed back to help.

But he'd forgotten—the barrier could block demons anyway, so why didn't Miyoko just come in with us?

Once we were inside, the green prism pillars outside the cave lit up with a pentagram magic circle. A green light beam shot up, forming a barrier that kept the demons out.

Inside the cave, we spotted the stone coffin holding the Demon World Chronicle right away—no clichéd traps or trials to pass.

The old-timers were straightforward; they probably figured anyone who made it here was in dire straits, so adding mechanisms would just be cruel.

Gian saw the stone coffin and tried to lift the slab right off the top.

But it was too heavy. Suneo gave it a shot too, even threw some magic at it, but no dice.

That's when I remembered—this stone coffin opened with a mechanism. So I pressed a protruding stone block nearby.

The box with the Demon World Chronicle slid out from the side, like an old slide phone.

It left everyone speechless—turns out the top slab didn't open at all!

I grabbed the box, opened it up, and sure enough, there were two scrolls of the Demon World Chronicle inside.
