Part 0 – Volume 0 – Chapter 4: The Shadow Rabbits
The rabbit masks materialized between their fingers.
A simple gesture, a sharp snap — and they brought them to their faces.
Immediately, the masks adhered to their skin, as if refusing any separation. A dull, deep pain passed through them, like an internal pressure, an invisible tear. The world seemed to waver for a moment, then stabilized.
When the feeling wore off, their faces were no longer human.
Two rabbits stood there, distinguished by their forehead markings: 3 and 5.
Raniela exhaled slowly.
— It still hurts… but it's become bearable.
A soft, almost benevolent voice echoed around them.
— One must suffer to obtain power.
Without warning, the ground disappeared.
They fell.
Space distorted, colors blurred, and the world became an endless mist. They fell into a suspended void, without top or bottom, until wooden planks appeared out of nowhere—vertical, horizontal, oblique—forming an impossible, infinite structure, defying all logic.
By reflex, Raniela and Luó landed on two vertical planks, maintaining perfect balance.
Luó, jaded:
— Not bad… for the fifth member.
Raniela smiled.
—The number on your forehead is not a ranking. Just an admission order.
Luó stood up. His voice changed, deep, solemn.
— The rabbit's foot brings luck. For us, it's the chance to evolve.
We are the Shadow Rabbits.
The light rejected me, so I embraced the darkness.
I will become the most menacing shadow under the moon.
The nightmare of my enemies.
The rabbit marked with 3 accepts the luck of the Dark Client.
Raniela responded without hesitation, with the same fervor.
— The rabbit marked with 5 accepts it too.
A translucent sphere encompassed them.
— VORTEX SYSTEM ACTIVATED
You are the hunters hiding in the shadows.
Reapers disguised as lambs.
Your hunt begins in the Bear Cave.
Hunter, beware of the wolf, the owl, and the one who seeks the light.
If you fail, the rabbit hole will always welcome you.
"Of course," they replied in unison.
Above them, a door of light opened.
They jumped.
---
They reappeared in the heart of a road saturated with traffic jams. The cars were at a standstill, blocked by a red vortex, pulsing with unstable lightning.
A driver trembled when he saw them in his rearview mirror.
Rabbit masks… The Dark Hunters…
Luó and Raniela moved forward calmly, crossing the road as if chaos did not exist. Some agents let them pass. Others fled. Some called the Wolves of Light—too late.
They passed through the gate.
The sensation was fluid, like passing through a liquid veil.
Then they landed in a vast rocky cavern, heavy with air and dust.
Luó wrinkled his nose slightly.
— Unpleasant smell. Let's finish quickly.
"Thirty minutes max," Raniela replied ironically.
Luó calculated quickly, then sighed.
— Two hours minimum for a dungeon of this size. How lazy...
They moved forward. Nothing. No monsters.
Luó closed his eyes and released a wave of wind that traveled throughout the cavern.
— Strange... The monsters were eliminated recently.
He smiles.
- Perfect.
He beckoned Raniela to come closer. An invisible bubble encompassed them. In his hand, a silent whirlpool formed—a movement that did not affect the air.
A snap.
The world stopped.
In an imperceptible moment, they crossed the entire dungeon.
They were now standing in front of the Lion King Hall.
Raniela, still in shock:
—What did you do...?
Luó simply replied:
— The chance that was granted to me.
Raniela smiles carnivorously.
"You're a lot more fun than I expected, princess.
Luó stared at him.
— Be careful. You're walking on the snake's tail. And I'm poisonous.
In front of them, the boss's door waited.
The hunt had only just begun.
