Chapter 5 - Blame Me

"Blame Me"

I tried to speak my heart,

but words came out like thorns—

I meant to show my love,

but I left behind some scars.

I forgave you,

not because you asked,

but because my heart

knows how to heal others first.

I was enough—

like water to a thirsty soul,

but still, you chose the storm,

and left my calm behind.

It's all my fault,

so go ahead, blame me—

I'm used to being

the ending in every story.

I got used,

then thrown away like waste—

like paper that held poetry,

but was never read with grace.

My silence means pride to you,

rudeness, attitude, maybe anger too—

but inside,

I was just breaking quietly for you.

I gave chances,

like open doors in heavy rain—

but when it was my turn,

no one even knocked again.

He thought I didn't care,

but forgot to ask me once—

like assuming a book is boring,

without reading a page.

I always lose what I love,

like petals in the wind—

everything I hold dear

slips right through my skin.

They judge me for what I like,

for who I am, for how I feel—

like flowers blamed

for blooming out of season.

So here I am—

tired, unheard, and misunderstood.

If you must choose a villain,

then let it be me.

Blame me.
