The sudden scene shocked almost every alien watching. What was going on?
Why was this man suddenly hurting himself again?
Of course, that "again" came from Ethan's thoughts, as he'd seen too many weird things today.
In front of the crowd, the one-armed man calmly reached into his backpack and pulled out his severed left hand. Then, without hesitation, he pressed it against his stump in full view of everyone.
The detached hand was marked with glowing cyan inscriptions, and the cut looked fresh, still blood-red as though it had been severed only recently. Clearly, some professional had used their powers to preserve it perfectly.
As soon as the two wounds touched, the cyan runes began to glow, threads of blue light stretching from the severed edges to knit the hand back together.
In seconds, the arm was whole again.
Click… click… click.
The man flexed his fingers and twisted his wrist. Everything worked fine.
The crowd gasped. The once-one-armed man was no longer disabled. The reason soon became clear — he had known the long-armed alien long ago.
He tore off his organization mask and revealed a sharp, vengeful grin.
"Hey, ape-man," he said coldly. "Do you still remember me, Dad?"
The long-armed alien narrowed his eyes but said nothing.
"After you ripped off my arm that day," the man continued, his voice trembling with fury, "I swore that mission would never be forgotten. I didn't reattach my hand, not until today. For years, I searched for you, and now I've finally found you."
His tone deepened. "Today, I'll avenge my crew. I'll break every one of your limbs before I kill you — slowly. It's been so long, and I've got plenty to say."
As his voice echoed across the clearing, the other Dragon Cave members arrived, forming a tight circle.
They were stunned.
Their leader — "Boss Ma" — wasn't actually one-armed?
No wonder he had refused any medical treatment all these years. With modern healers, he could've regrown his arm in minutes. But he hadn't — because he'd kept it as a reminder.
And now, with his past revealed, they finally understood why he was promoted so suddenly after the "Beard Master" fell. Every single member of his old squad had died. Boss Ma was the only survivor.
The admiration among his men was clear. He had lived with one arm for years just to hold on to his hatred.
Then, Boss Ma barked, "You all handle the rest. Delay the enemies. That ape-man is mine!"
With that, he leaped forward like a cannonball, his fist blazing with blue energy.
A massive fist shadow roared toward the long-armed alien, forcing everyone nearby to scatter.
The alien, whose arms hung almost to his knees, crossed them in front of him, blocking the blow.
BOOM!
The shockwave pushed him several meters backward, his feet dragging twin trenches in the dirt.
But Boss Ma didn't stop.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Punch after punch landed like thunder. His newly reattached arm worked flawlessly, moving faster and faster.
The long-armed alien didn't counterattack — he simply defended, letting the fists crash against him.
Each time the shockwaves erupted, nearby wild creatures dropped dead from the sheer pressure.
Boss Ma threw hundreds of punches without pause, his breath ragged but eyes blazing with vengeance.
Finally, when he stopped, gasping for air, the alien flexed his swollen arms and said calmly,
"Oh… now I remember. It's you."
He tilted his head. "Sorry, I've killed so many professionals over the years that faces like yours don't stand out."
Boss Ma froze. His attacks hadn't even hurt the alien.
A grim seriousness filled his face. He silently slipped his mask back on and sent a call for reinforcements. He was no fool — he knew something was wrong.
The long-armed alien scratched the back of his head lazily and grinned.
"Ah, now I remember more. That female professional who was with you back then — she tasted good. Tender."
He chuckled cruelly.
"As for the other kid, he was too chewy. Seya, wasn't it?"
Those words snapped something inside Boss Ma.
"You bastard! I'll kill you!" he roared.
Rage consumed him. He rushed forward again, his fist bursting with power. But just as the punch was about to land, the alien's arms suddenly bulged with thick black hair, muscles expanding like coiled steel cables.
In seconds, his limbs transformed into the arms of a giant ape.
Boss Ma's punch met them head-on — and instantly shattered.
CRACK!
The sound was sickening. His right arm twisted grotesquely, the bones crushed and exposed through torn flesh.
The pain was unbearable; even the spectators flinched.
But Boss Ma didn't stop. He screamed in defiance and swung his newly reattached left fist.
The alien sneered. This time, he didn't bother blocking. Instead, he caught the fist mid-swing.
His giant palm closed around it like a vice.
A smirk curved his lips.
"You? Still talking revenge at this level?"
With a single squeeze, the sound of bones shattering filled the air.
Boss Ma's left hand turned to pulp, the blood and tissue dripping between the alien's fingers like mashed fruit.
The agony hit him in waves — it felt as though both his hands had been shoved into a meat grinder.
Boss Ma screamed, his blood-red eyes filled with tears that he hadn't meant to shed.
But the worst pain wasn't physical.
Why? Why was it so hopeless?
He had trained for years, pushing his body beyond human limits. His fists could break rock and crush mountains — yet in front of this creature, they were worthless.
He realized the horrible truth: the enemy had never even taken him seriously.
Shame and regret crushed him. His vision blurred.
Xiaowu… Yaoji… Dafa…
He whispered their names, his fallen comrades.
"I'm sorry… I couldn't avenge you…"
All his fury drained away. He sank to his knees, staring at the ruined mess of his hands.
The proud warrior who once led dozens of fighters now looked utterly broken.
Seeing Boss Ma's despair, the long-armed alien laughed coldly.
He crouched down, wiping his blood-stained palm on Boss Ma's jacket like it was nothing more than a rag.
To him, this was a game — a delightful way to torment humans who once looked down on him.
He relished the fear, the hopelessness, the tears.
But just as his grin widened—
A flash of golden light cut through the air.
A golden blade shadow streaked toward him faster than sound. The alien's mocking smile froze.
His pupils shrank in panic as he sensed true danger for the first time.
"W-What—?!"
The golden blade struck.
And in that blinding moment, everything changed.
