I descended into the warehouse, my footsteps echoing against concrete walls. The scent of fear hung thick in the stale air. My wolf prowled beneath my skin, demanding blood.
Daniel Reed and his security team had done their job well. In the center of the room, illuminated by a single harsh light, was the rogue who had dared attack my Luna.
"Alpha King Valois," Daniel said, straightening as I approached. "This is Darius Reed."
The man bound to the chair looked nothing like the professional enforcer I'd expected. He was scrawny, with matted hair and wild, desperate eyes. Blood had already dried on his face from what appeared to be an earlier interrogation.
"You're the one who attacked my Luna?" I asked, circling him slowly.
His eyes darted frantically. "I didn't know she was your mate! I swear on my life!"
I grabbed his chin, forcing his eyes to meet mine. "Tell me why."
