Chapter 25 - The Gamer's Bargain

I stood in Leo's bedroom doorway, surveying the disaster zone before me. Clothes scattered across the floor, game controllers tangled in bedsheets, and a seven-year-old completely absorbed in his tablet.

"Miss Beaumont! You cannot simply destroy property in this household!" Marcus the butler was practically shaking with rage behind me, his face an alarming shade of crimson.

"Send the bill to my account," I replied without looking back. "I'll cover the door."

"This is completely unacceptable behavior for—"

"Is there anything else, Marcus?" I cut him off, turning to face him with a raised eyebrow.

His mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water before he finally huffed, "Mr. Valois will hear about this."

"I'm sure he will." I gave him a sweet smile. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a lesson to teach."

Marcus retreated, muttering under his breath about "improper conduct" and "standards of decorum." I stepped into the room and closed what remained of the door behind me.
