Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Year 5300, Principle of Astral, Solar Era, Month of Chroma

After that first fateful meeting, Persius leaves for his studies and is gone to Baehalan for three years. During that time he meets with all kinds of governments like the Seven Kings of the territories and the Pharaoh. He sits in on every kind of diplomatic meeting and makes great strides in his studies. He records as much data as possible to try and bring back a stack of papers and in the time he is gone, he thinks about his friend, Ajii. He did just leave and that was his only friend that knew him like no one else except maybe the dean. He's gotten quite close to a lot of others of different races: a couple of succubi and incubi around his age, some mages, some ants but no mythics…no no. Most aren't here but no one knows how bad it's gotten. He keeps his promise and sends letters periodically to Aiah to keep her updated. He actually loved writing to her and putting a bit more emotion into it versus his letters to the dean which were primarily about his lessons and how they were going. It was a stark difference but at least he got to show excitement with someone and also get a response faster than the usual weekly letter. He had all the letters from everyone stored in a small chest and kept the chest tucked away in his pocket on a keychain; he had learned the shrinking and enlarging spell from his tutor recently and used it to sneak away all kinds of things, some sweets, some sushi and fish, different books that are of an…*ahem*...adult caliber, because he had the most intense curiosity. But…he learned…and learned quite a lot over the years and it's been interesting to see his growth. He also did grow physically too with his blue hair being past his shoulders now.

He is currently writing one of his last letters to Aiah and of course one to the dean after. He likes writing to Aiah first because he gets a response faster plus her words give him warmth.

Dear Goddess Aiah,

Hello! I will be coming back in a week and I'm excited to share all my progress and my expeditions. It's going to be amazing. I can't wait to see you and everyone. I've missed everyone but it'll be nice to see you honestly. I'll show you photos too! I have a gift for you as well. I hope you like it. I'm not sure what gods or goddesses like, especially one who is the Goddess of All Treasures. You probably have this already…I'm still going to give it to you. Anyways, I have a meeting in a bit. See you soon! Bye!

Persius

He writes his letter to Natasia after his last sit-in meeting, where the Seven Kings actually got along and established fairer trading systems. He felt it was a good end to his diplomatic period.

Dear Dean Haile,

I shall be back in Resosia in a week. I am very excited to come back home and share with you all my traveling and experiences throughout the continent. It'll be wonderful to see you again and I hope you can make time for me. I am eating and sleeping enough so you don't have to worry. Thanks for even giving me this opportunity Dean. I have a small gift that I hope you like. I have no idea what you like except if it's beautiful and is colored blue and gold. Hehe. I really appreciate this and you. See you soon.

Persius.

He starts getting packed up as his caretaker invites him out to a restaurant to celebrate a job well done on his studies and on his diplomatic duties. He spends the next week wrapping up a few loose ends, preparing all of his documents and research, and he's off to Resosia once again via SolarPlane, a solar powered speed aircraft that is focused on getting places fast and efficiently. It only takes him roughly 6 hours to get back but he is extremely jet-lagged.

Once he landed, he got off and thanked the skies for allowing him safe passage. He looks at his phone already receiving a text message from Natasia about arriving in Lucid City and where her office is located just in case he forgot. He did so he's glad for the information. Although Natasia urged him to come into Lucid city first…he can't help but to go to the Ivory Sanctuary first. A golem with a body made of light energy, golden hair pulled up into long twin tails, no taller than four feet, of the temple greets him at the door and leads him through the temple to that oh so familiar throne room. He is announced and once again he's standing face to face with Aiah. He gulps from nervousness as if he's seen her for the first time but still musters a smile and waves to her.

Aiah: -she smiles softly down at him- Welcome home Persius. You've grown so much my dear.

Persius: *comes to the stairs of the throne and bows* Thank you so much for the welcome. It's good to be back. I missed my home, and the people I care for. *smiles up at her, his chiseled jaw reflecting in the sun and his eyes casting such a faint glow*

He has grown from a 14 year old 5'8 teenager to a 6'0 17 year old. Still young but he's matured quite a bit…still has some ways to go though.

Aiah: -she beckons him forward- Come, show me all that you've seen and learned. It'll be nice to hear it in person…not just in letters.

Persius: *starts pulling out his binder and holds it up to her* So here, I actually traveled to meet an Orc leader who was having a food crisis and I traveled with the ruling King Satan in his region to these caves. I thought that was interesting because I thought orcs were quite scary but they were more scared of him…he was very scary though. And I got some magic feathers for it.

Aiah: -she giggles quietly- Come closer, next to me. You'll be able to show me better without reaching so far up.

Persius blushes but he looks up: Well…where should I sit?

Aiah: -she snaps her fingers and a chair appears next to her, along with a small table for his files- Here is fine.

Persius looks up and is amazed at her powers, letting out a visible awe of inspiration: Wow…that's amazing…I mean- yes thank you goddess I would be happy to show you my files. *he comes up to her and sits down, spreading the files by region* Okay so ah! Here is when I met King Mammon, a bit of a prude but not too bad based on his region of greed. He wanted to do some expansions into Pride but the reigning deity, Lucifer Morningstar preferred not. Although I also spoke with his Majesty and he doesn't seem like the type to want to run things at all. *he explains how all the kings are very different but are all territorial as well and he's just going through his adventures* Here I went to a town that borders Luxuria because they needed more resources and I had to go to Luxuria and talk with the Mayor there, they are very sex-positive which is great but it was hard for a diplomat as I haha.

Aiah: -she listens to all of his stories intently, smiling fondly at him the whole time- My my it seems like you've had quite the adventures. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Have you given any thought to continuing your studies?

Persius: *looks at her for a second and then looks back at the files* I…would like to yes. I've actually been having so much fun but also just getting to know the different cultures and races of people has been such a blast. It's really different and it's hard work but nice..although…

Aiah: Although?

Persius: Hmmmm I…would miss some people and my home that I've known although I like the weather and decor over there haha it's not as cold.

Aiah: If you'd like..you can spend the summer here and learn more about Resosian politics. And I could renew your travel visa…and add more stops for your studies. It would be easier for you to come home more often while still following your dreams.

Persius pauses for a long time but also looks at her and their eyes meet, finding each other almost, as if they are searching for signs to be in each other's presence but Persius breaks first.

Persius: Hmmm…I wouldn't mind getting to know Resosian politics since I don't have the faintest clue about them. What stops would you like to add also?

Aiah: Istrelar and a brief passage in Dzular. I believe you should be well rounded. As for your time to learn more of Resosia…how would you like to be my representative in Parliament for the summer season?

Persius looks shocked: Y-your representative? How could I represent someone so amazing? What would you have me do?

Aiah: I currently don't have any eyes in Parliament and I believe with the expertise you've gained so far that you'd be a good fit. Worry not, one of my golem's would go with you to answer any questions you have and to record things for me as well. Currently I only have golems to go for me and let's just say…most mages do not respect golems. There is much for you to learn and this would be the best opportunity for you to do so. Would you accept the position?

Persius starts laughing: hahah sounds like a job interview…um I would love to…I don't know how well I would do but I'll do my best. *he smiles genuinely to her.

He begins packing up his files as a hint of red flushes his cheeks.*

Aiah: I believe you'll do wonderfully…now if you'd like, one of my darlings can show you to your room. It will be yours for the summer.

Persius: Oh you gave me a room here? Thank you, to be honest I wasn't sure at all where I would stay. I just rushed here haha. Now I must see the Dean before she calls for me haha. Oh of course after I put my things in my room. And Again thank you. *he stands up and bows to her, gets his binder but then a red gift box falls out and his eyes light up* Oh my I forgot..*he picks up the red box and hands it to Aiah* I did say I got you a gift. Hehe, I hope you like it.

Aiah: -she smiles softly and gently takes the box from him- Oh my how sweet of you dear. -she happily opens the box-

Persius watches as she opens it: It's red crystal from a cave in Ember Province that I found, it was gorgeous but my camera wouldn't work down there.

Aiah: -she picks it up and inspects it closely- What a darling specimen~. It will be a perfect addition to my collections~. Thank you Persius, this gift is absolutely wonderful.

Persius blushes and shuffles his hands a bit before starting to walk to his room: Of…of course…I should head over to Mythic before the Dean calls me hahahah *starts off with one of the golems, as they take him to his temporary room*

The golem leads him deeper into the sanctuary. She stops in front of his designated room, opens the door for him and bows. The room is an incredibly large suite with a king size bed in the middle of the room, floor to ceiling windows with long curtains on either side of the bed, a desk workspace off the the side and a bookshelf filled with different kinds of books, and another door to the other side of the room that leads to the bathroom, the whole room done in white, cream, black, and gold.

Persius: Thank you…ummm I don't know what to call you..

Golem: I do not have a name. The Goddess calls us "Sister's" or her "Darlings".

Persius: Well you are rather cute haha but can I call you "Clover"? If not, completely fine! Because I don't know…you remind me of a clover. They can have different leaves but usually represent luck and serendipity.

Clover: ..I find this name acceptable. Many thanks for this name. If you need of anything else please call for one of us. -she bows- Also I have received a message from the Goddess; she forgot to mention earlier that the Prince is experiencing random mana bursts and may fall out of the shadows at any moment. Please be mindful.

Persius: Hahah okay I'll keep an eye out for random children falling from the ceilings. I'm glad you like your name also Clover.

Clover: It is acceptable to me. Enjoy your day. -she bows once more and leaves-

Persius: Thank you and ummm you too. *he sits down and lays on the bed* Mmmm this is nice. *pulls out phone and calls the Dean*

Persius: Hello Ms. Haile, are you at the school? I should be there within the hour.

Natasia: Ah Persius, I was wondering when you would come in, I saw your plane arrive but I hadn't heard from you yet. I was about to send a golem to escort you here.

Persius: No need no need I am perfectly fine. Thank you so much. Like I said I should be there within the hour.

Natasia: Excellent. I look forward to seeing your research and hearing of your travels.

Persius hangs up and changes into something more comfortable, deep blue harem pants and a sheer black crop top. Comfy yet stylish. He thinks to himself as he checks himself out in the mirror. As he leaves his room to head to Lucid City, all of a sudden the sound of a child screaming suddenly appears from above him and a child lands in his arms. Thankfully he catches him with his quick reflexes. Just like Clover said, the Prince of the Ivory Sanctuary, Adrian, has landed in his arms from a random place. He's a small ten year old boy that feels a bit heavier than he looks, with bronze skin, glittering emerald eyes, and chin length curly black hair.

Adrian: -he catches his breath and looks up at Persius- Hi…sorry for falling on you…

Persius, after catching and putting him down: Woahhhhh little man! That's crazy, you okay??

Adrian: -he fixes his clothes- Yeah I'm okay…I stepped on a shadow and fell through…I thought I was being careful enough.

Persius: Does this happen often? Aiah knows what would've happened if I wasn't standing here.

Adrian: Oh I wouldn't have been hurt I promise, just embarrassed. I don't have bones.

Persius: You don't have bones? *Persius' looks shocked* How are you walking around? You don't have bones??

Adrian: -he gets a big excited smile- Oooh I love doing this! -he holds out his hand- Touch it!

Persius: *he touches him very slowly, and it goes tink* Woah. That's insane. Wait, this feels so metallic? What are you made of? I'm just made of skin and bones haha.

Adrian: Mother crafted me out of bronze, so when I need to I can harden myself so I don't get hurt.

Persius: Wow, that's impressive. Wait but you aren't like a golem? So you also won't pass right? Oh wait you are a god huh? Interesting. I don't think I've met anyone like you in my travels.

Adrian: Mother says when I reach my prime I'll stop aging. She said I'm going to become the God of Secrets and Shadows.

Persius: Really? *gets down to Adrian's level* So little God of Secrets and Shadows, what secrets do you have for me?

Adrian: -he gets closer and whispers to him- My best friend is a Sun Goddess..but she doesn't know it yet.

Persius: *looks at him in shock but straightens his face* I understand, your secret is safe with me my friend. Now is your best friend around?

Ra comes around the corner a bit frantically. She is a very beautiful youthful ten-year old with white curly-wavy hair and dark skin. Her eyes look crimson in the sunlight with hints of orange like a fire. As she approaches, Persius looks up at her and waves.

Ra: Addy! I was so worried you just disappeared! Are you alright? *she frantically comes running over, looking at Adrian with tears in her eyes*

Adrian: -he smiles softly and meets her half way and takes her hands- I'm okay Ra I promise. I just stepped on a stray shadow. This pretty guy caught me.

Persius: Who, me? Stop, stop you children are the glory of this palace. But I'm glad I was there to catch you hah.

Ra: *looks at Persius and smiles* Thank you, pretty boy. Come on Addy, I wanna go play with that game again, hopefully, you don't fall through the ceiling again haha.

Adrian: -he blushes and pouts- It was an accident..! But..fine you're on! I'm so gonna win again hahaha~.

Ra: You wish! *Ra and Addy scamper off, giggling*

Persius: Such cute kids. *he goes to the throne room to see Goddess Aiah, one last time before he heads off to see the Dean*

He enters the throne room and Aiah is reading some books, possibly doing some research.

Persius: Greetings your Majesty. I will be going out for the day.

Aiah: -she's still looking at the books floating around her- Very well dear…do be safe. The doors will be open to you no matter how late it is so do not worry.

Persius bows and takes his leave, looking back one last time at her as she's buried in her books.
