When Ryan didn't get anything since the start of the week, his coworkers got curious but didn't know how to ask him about it directly. They kept throwing glances at him, whispering between themselves from their desks.
"Did Ryan meet another scumbag?" Mary muttered behind her screen, her voice low, but not low enough.
"I thought this one was better than the ex. What was his name again?" Stella quiped. "The one… barely lasted a week."
"Cole."
"Yes, Cole. At least we kept seeing him for 3 months nonstop." Stella continued.
"Maybe Ryan told him to stop," Mary guessed. "He's not the type for PDA anyway."
"True," Stella said, narrowing her eyes toward Ryan's desk. "So they might be together now?"
"I wonder what he looks like," Mary whispered with a grin.
Alex finally set down his pen with a sigh, getting to his feet. "Don't worry, ladies," he cut in smoothly, loud enough for Ryan to hear. "Ryan's got it covered."
