Chapter 10 - 10. Stone Mother

Alka looked at Aunt Marcy who was leading the way in front of him, and the priest who was already walking towards the entrance of the boulder cave.

When this question came to his mind, he began to think unconsciously.

Looking through the memories in his mind, he couldn't figure out how they knew it.

The vigilance and little sense of security of the new arrival in the alien world made him start to think about the worst, and his pace began to slow down, falling behind his aunt.

"Should I ask directly? According to logic, normal people should be able to think of it."

Alka thought.

Before he had time to speak.

They had already arrived inside the boulder.

Walking in from the entrance, it was unusually open inside.

Alka looked at the surrounding environment. There were obvious signs of artificial excavation inside, and the size of the space inside was compared with the size of the boulder outside.

Basically, the middle of the entire boulder was hollowed out, and some patterns were carved on the stone wall of the boulder, but it was not completely visible due to the obstruction of torches and other things.

It was a bit rough, a bit like a fairy tale.

A small hole was dug through the top of the boulder, about the size of a head.

The light from outside passed through this hole and filled into the dim stone cave, illuminating the environment inside the cave together with the surrounding torches.

With this not-so-bright light, Alka was able to check the surrounding environment.

Around about one meter above the ground, grooves were dug out one after another, and each groove was connected around a circle.

Layer after layer was stacked up until it reached a height of about three or four meters.

Alka counted and there were about 9 layers in total, and each layer of grooves contained a stone of different shapes.

The only thing in common is the material of these stones, which seem to be exactly the same, with almost no impurities in appearance.

At this time, Alka saw the real stone sculpture.

In the middle of the whole space is a stone sculpture about three meters high, and the stone used for carving is exactly the same as the material of the whole boulder.

The statue is a faceless woman with long hair holding a baby wrapped in a swaddle in her arms, and a circle on her head, which looks like a headband made of wheat ears.

There is also a child of a few years old beside her legs, pinching her trouser legs.

Looking at the statue in front of her.

It is obviously extremely rough and there is no detailed carving on the face, but it has carved out a trace of kind motherhood in the hands of the sculptor.

It gives people a strange charm.

Aunt Marcy stopped about three or four meters away from the statue, and Alka, who was following behind, also stopped immediately.

The priest came to the statue holding his mother's bones.

First, he lifted the bag of bones slightly.

Then he slowly crouched down, giving people a solemn feeling, and gently placed the bag of bones on the ground.

The sound of bones colliding sounded in the silent environment.

He opened the bag, reached in and took out the bones one by one, and piled them in front of the statue.

And Alka and the others just watched, standing there and waiting quietly.

Seeing that his aunt didn't say a word, Alka could only wait quietly by the side.

Until the end, he took out the skull and placed it on top of the pile of bones.

"Don't interrupt me."

The mature, slightly hoarse voice of the priest sounded.

Standing up straight, his hands crossed on his shoulders, his head slightly lowered.

Sunlight poured down from the cave entrance.

I don't know if it's my illusion, but I feel that the sunlight is even more dazzling now.

The statue, the priest, and the mother's bones are bathed in the light.

Such a scene suddenly has a hint of holiness.

At this time, the priest's voice suddenly sounded.

"The sharp blade pierced through the back, and the blood-stained sword blade pierced straight out of the chest."

"Unbelievable, betrayal, regret."

"Silent darkness."

"Blood connection, the last instinct."

When Alka heard the first sentence, he couldn't help but frowned, because it matched the wound on his mother's body.

The second sentence is the emotion at that time?

Betrayed.

The third sentence may be about the feeling after death.

The fourth sentence is completely unknown.

The voice stayed here, and the space returned to silence.

This is the simple information that Alka can get in a short time.

At this time, the priest suddenly opened his eyes.

He turned his head and stared at Alka who was looking at him.

Alka was sure that he was not mistaken. The priest's eyes had just turned from dark green to normal pupils.

"Your mother's soul dissipated last night? Did you see her for the last time?"

"Her bones were stained with a curse, but her death had nothing to do with the curse."

At this time, Aunt Marcy next to her also turned her head and stared at Alka.

"Little Alka, what did you experience last night?"

Seeing this situation, Alka's brain worked quickly and opened his mouth, quickly organizing his words.

"I... I don't know if I was too excited or tired from treasure hunting last night, when my mother's body stood up and opened her palm to me."

At this point, Alka took out a silver snake from his arms, and there was a blade mark on the snake head of the silver coin.

"Then, this silver coin flew from my hand into my mother's palm, and then she scattered.

I thought it was my hallucination, and the silver coin might have been thrown by me in a panic."

Hearing this, the priest took two steps forward and stretched out his hand: "Show me the silver coin, where did it come from?"

Alka gave the silver coin to the priest.

He picked up the silver coin, squinted his eyes and looked at it carefully for a while, and even sniffed it carefully.

"There is indeed a curse on it, but the smell is very light." He turned his head and stared at Alka and asked: "Where did this silver snake come from?"

After asking again, the priest and Aunt Marcy were stunned.

They both seemed to have thought of the reason.

They asked in unison: "Which treasure did you find first?"

Some time ago, Alka found a silver coin and made a big fuss about it on the island.

This island is so small, and everyone has known each other for generations. As long as they are not ignorant, they basically know something.

Seeing that both of them had guessed it, Alka nodded.

"Yes, it's that silver coin."

After a pause, he continued: "When I found the silver coin, there was a passage engraved on the box."

"What is it?" The priest asked hurriedly.

"Let me return the silver coin within 7 days, otherwise I will be cursed."

Alka made some deletions and modifications, changing the sentence that would directly cause death to directly encounter a curse.

And continued: "I fell seriously ill on the 7th day after I found it, so I started to look for the treasure seriously and wanted to return the silver coin."

Hearing this, Aunt Marcy came up and hugged Alka's head, and couldn't help complaining: "So you got sick because of this curse those two days? Why didn't you tell me?"

"I was afraid you wouldn't believe it. After all, curses are just like stories."

Hearing Alka's words, Aunt Marcy couldn't help but sigh.

The priest threw the silver coin to Alka, and Alka caught it.

"You should thank your mother, her last soul dissipated the curse."

After saying that, he looked at Aunt Marcy and nodded to her.

Aunt Marcy made a gesture of praise with her hands crossed, nodded, and left the cave.

Before leaving, he said to Alka: "Come to my house for dinner tonight. Sigt said you have to follow a merchant ship."

After Aunt Marcy left, the priest stared at Alka.

"Come here, little Alka, and pray for peace for your mother."

Hearing this, Alka walked over.

Looking at the bones piled under the statue, he crossed his hands and lowered his head slightly.

The priest's voice sounded in his ears.

"Calm your mind, praise the Stone Mother in your heart, and pray that He will grant your loved ones peace after death.

The Stone Mother's grace is in your heart, as hard as a rock."

The priest's voice seemed to have some kind of magic, and Alka's heart was inexplicably calmed down very smoothly.

Follow the guidance of his voice.

Pray to the Stone Mother in your heart.

He silently recited in his heart:

"The Stone Mother's grace is as strong as a rock."

Suddenly, there was no sound in his ears, as if he was immersed in a silent world.

"Crack."

A piece of stone suddenly broke.

Arka suddenly opened his eyes.

He didn't know where he was.
