Chapter 5: Journey to Ling Shan
Xiao Feng and Gu Lang stepped out of the cave, fresh air filling their lungs.
Xiao Feng said seriously,
— It's a long and dangerous road, but I'm ready.
Gu Lang wagged his tail and said sleepily,
— Well, there's one thing important: if I get hungry, promise me good food!
Xiao Feng laughed,
— Don't worry, we'll find plenty to eat on the way.
Suddenly, the rustling sound of leaves was heard, and a man emerged from the shadows.
The man said with a mysterious smile,
— New traveler, Ling Shan isn't a playground for rookies.
Xiao Feng drew his knife and said,
— My game is to survive. If you have intentions, you should know I'm not empty-handed.
The man smiled and placed a bowl filled with dark liquid in front of Xiao Feng,
— This is the soup of Ling Shan. One bite and it ends everything.
Xiao Feng smirked and said,
— Fine, then I'll see how it tastes!
Gu Lang wagged his tail and said,
— I'm just saying, if you die, I'm off to find better food!
Xiao Feng looked at the bowl of soup and smirked,
— Soup of death? Well, I'm a chef! There's no soup I can't handle.
The man who brought the soup said in surprise,
— You've got guts? Most people fall right here!
Xiao Feng took a spoonful of soup.
His eyes widened for a moment, but he quickly smiled,
— It tastes more sour than I expected, but bearable.
Gu Lang wagged his tail and said,
— Well, this is better than my usual dinner! Just bring something tastier next time!
The man smiled and said,
— See you again soon, Immortal Chef!
Xiao Feng and Gu Lang continued on their way to Ling Shan,
with firmer steps and renewed spirits.
When Xiao Feng and Gu Lang reached the village, the smell of diverse foods and the sounds of people intertwined.
Xiao Feng took a deep breath and said,
— Finally, we've arrived. This is where things get serious.
Gu Lang wagged his tail excitedly despite his sleepy eyes,
— First thing, find a good restaurant!
Suddenly, an old man with a straw hat and white mustache appeared before them and said loudly,

Xiao Feng replied with a confident smile,
— Challenge and good food. That's why we're here.
