Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

After sleeping the night in his shop's office, Akashi knew that it was time to make real decisions.

Knowing that he would be against the most advanced bloodbender in the world, Akashi had to make his backups. One of them was Korra arriving and learning airbending from him quickly, in the hope of activating her Avatar state.

But that didn't mean that he couldn't increase his power.

After all, he was the one in the center of the risk.

The Avatar could always be ignored while he was targeted.

And if the situation called for it, she'd be protected above him.

Akashi opened a skill tree. There was an option to add a skill three under the Airbending tree. He pressed on add.

At that time, a few good choices appeared.

[Pressure bending]

[Waves bending]

[Farts bending]

[Spirit bending]

[Spirit projection]

There was even a flying sub skil tree.

But against someone like Amon or Tarrlok, what could flying do?

When he had been held by bloodbending, all he could do was mutter grunts.

He could hope that by increasing his level in airbending that he could bend with his mind to counter them.

But that seemed to be quite a difficult feat to achieve when all of the blood in his muscles was almost clotted.

And he could always learn how to fly on his own with airbending skill-tree alone. And maybe, by leveling up his airbending, he could learn another sub-bending skill-tree.

'Waves bending… Waves… Like Sound Wave' Akashi opened the description of it. 'Waves travel through the air. It allows me to bend those waves, amplify them, and manipulate them.'

Akashi smirked, thinking that it could be awesome to manipulate waves. Imagine just screaming at your enemy, and they just fall down.

He could already picture the scenario. When his ass is beaten to a pulp, he tries to grunt something. The bloodbender gets closer to hear what he says, only to face a sonic bomb.

He could gain stealth power, and he could even manipulate other types of waves. Maybe the frequency to cause max damage.

Though it may cost a few skill points, or many, this sounded like a good choice; it would be worth it.

"If I could do one Kamehameha wave, I'd die happy." Akashi muttered, looking at the roof while thinking about his childish fantasies.

[Sub-Skill Tree has been learned]

[You can gain experience as much as two times until the sub-skill tree matches the level of the original tree.]

Akashi yawned as he looked at the notification.

Even with double experience boost, it was still a long path. And he had only one Skill Point left.

It was a lot of work to do.

But he needed to master this technique to counter bloodbenders.

As for no bloodbenders… he had already developed a proper technique.

Akashi extended his hand in the middle, creating a vacuum core above his hand to grab the air. Then, as winds got grabbed, Akashi bent them to rotate in different directions, forming a sphere.

But the sphere wasn't just a normal one.

It moved in every possible direction. Up, down, left, right, in between, in between reverse, and in between between… until it got annoying. And these winds could rotate as long as he allowed, and they were pretty sharp too.

At first, Akashi had a problem with creating this technique. And it was compressing the air to make the air sphere strong and do actual damage. But by creating a vacuum core at first, and letting it do the work, it got easier.

Akashi had tested this technique.

It destroyed a very large rock.

Of course, the power came from the sharp wind and the shockwave.

If he reached a level where he could amplify the shockwave through waves bending, it could be called a perfect technique, Rasengan.

'Fuck chakra, I can control winds.'

The sphere flew off Akashi's hand, before dissipating gently in every direction.

Akashi closed his eyes, strong air echoed everywhere.

It was the only side effect to dispel the Rasengan.

And as he had done so, he noticed something.

He suddenly understood why he had to reach his level to get a sub-bending.

He needed to be very sensitive to the air, and as his displayed the technique, he could sense the waves vibrating through the air.

'I may not be spiritual like my ancestor airbenders. But I know some of the modern science.

'I only need to find the right frequency, and then, screaming alone would cause my enemies internal damage.'

Akashi couldn't wipe his smile.

"Okay." As he spoke, he felt differently. The words that left his mouth… he could feel how the air vibrated with them.

He may not be at the level to bend with his mind and all.

But he wanted to try it.

He spread his hand and clapped.

From his clap, sound echoed. And from his swing, airbending followed, stretching the wave that traveled through them.

A very loud clap, as if it were a bomb, echoed.

Akashi unconsciously checked his palms to see if they got red or swollen.

That clap was so loud that it felt like it would hurt.

But it was just a casual clap.

[Airbending +1 exp]

[Wavesbending +4 exp]

'It seems that I can get through the first levels easily through training. But I need to pack up my training. I should take a vacation…. '

Akashi nodded to himself. After washing his face and brushing his teeth, changing to new work attire, he began writing an unpaid vacation demand.

He no longer felt needy for a paid vacation anymore.

As for the serial killer that he's tracing, the full moon day still has around 26 days. And he'd strike around this time of the year.

Just as he was about to leave through the back door, before his employees arrived, he found a very large bison landing in front of his place.

Tenzin smiled.

Three kids ran to him, two young girls and a 3-year-old boy.

Akashi greeted the kids and smiled. "Hey… you're already back. Did you bring me anything?"

"I brought you ice. But it melted on the way." Meelo replied.

"The young doesn't have to bring something for the old." Jinora shrugged.

"And I see that Ikki lost a tooth." He turned to the middle girl.

She just smiled and said, "It'll grow back anyway."

"We also brought a guest." Ikki said.
