Akashi sat down and opened the letter in his house. It was a summoning to the court as a witness in the case of the Equalists. Amon and Tarrlok would be judged as the leaders of the movement.
"What the fuck is wrong with them? You need to have at least a cop or an officer waiting for me to sign this up." Akashi sighed. There were still two days until the court date. It happened too fast, to be honest. After all, cases like this usually take weeks to months before the court gets established. If it started early, it meant that the public demand for the trial was too much.
'So, I guess the Earth Kingdom demanded the leaders to be handed to them. As expected from that old lady. Bet she didn't expect that Amon would be defeated or Tarrlok. Hahaha… sweet experience points, babe.'
Akashi thought to himself, making plans for the future. No, he had already made a plan for this scenario when he had gone to the Equalists' base. Nothing was assured in this world. Everything followed the law of cause and effect, and the effect was based on probability.
But if things happened according to his plan, then he would gain a lot of levels in a row while taking down an enemy with the least damage.
Akashi contained his smile and decided to focus on what he had in hand. He was one of the main witnesses in the case. He wasn't just the officer who had exposed their location, but they had attempted to kill him—supposedly.
Until then, he could use his time to manage his life and focus on improving the things within his control.
One of them was his strength, and the other was flying.
Akashi went to the fridge and grabbed a couple of 10-liter water bottles.
Then, he closed his eyes and started floating. Surely, with extra weight came the challenge to move at the same speed.
He moved forth and back. After around 5 laps around his room.
[Flying… +3 exp]
Akashi's eyes lit up. 3 whole experience points. That's massive compared to when he had started training airbending.
Anyways, he continued his training. He had plenty of time. And his stamina's regeneration outperformed the effort. He could do this without end. Well, until his stomach growled.
Akashi continued moving in laps. One may wonder why he doesn't get outside and fly high. But he feared that his Chi may end, and he would fall from high.
'Remind me of the time I gained the title Monster Cock.' He thought. 'Man. I'm starting to miss those days.'
Anyways, with plenty of time in hand, Akashi kept training his flying. And when he got bored, he would sit down and think of ways to use airbending creatively in combat.
And after finishing thinking about that, he would go to his bed and roll on the pillow.
Had he still been in the police station, he would have gone to the Police Chief's office and had a quickie.
But, as a busy woman, she wouldn't be able to leave the office. Not to mention that she was the leader of the task force of metalbenders.
"Well, I'm happy as I am."
And he went back to train again.

And he could move smoother while holding weights.

And the earned experience got less.
"I'd still have to get some heavier weights. Maybe I should borrow some armor from the station." He muttered to himself as he laid on the ground.
Seeing how bored he was, and how much plenty time he had in his days, he started thinking if he had made the right decision. There is no TV yet in this world. There was no Internet, smartphones, or games to play. Not to mention, any game in this world needed to be played with someone. Other than that, it's just toys for children.
Knock Knock
Akashi stood up and stared at the door. He flicked his finger, the air pulling down the handle of the door and opening it, revealing a slightly older man who used to work for him.
"Sergeant… Oh, right. Just Mr. Akashi now. Sorry that I bothered you late at this time," he said.
He was Jang. A young detective under Akashi.
"What's bringing you here, Jang?" asked Akashi, curious.
"Remember when you said we could hire you for consultation as long as we pay the fees. I hope it's working hours. And is there some first-timer discount?" he asked.
"Wording, man. You make me sound like a man whore." Akashi replied.
"Hahahaa. Sorry about that, sergeant. Sorry, mispronounced you again."
"Don't worry about my title. Call me however you feel comfortable. And don't worry about the fees." Akashi said, grabbing Jang and wrapping his hand around his shoulder. He went to the corner of the kitchen, grabbing some coffee.
He had severe jobless withdrawal symptoms and was desperate to work on some case.
"So, tell me, what you got?" asked Akashi as he placed the coffee in front of his first client.
"We've found a puppet."
"Yeah…" Akashi had a sensation where this was going.
"It had been placed in an art museum. At first, it seemed to be a piece of art. Few days later, the foul smell came from it. And then, as we got called, we saw that the puppet of the woman had a penis. And feet that didn't match.
"The final conclusion was that the puppet was made by connecting three bodies." Jang reached his coat and grabbed the case's file, handing it to Akashi.
Akashi felt a sensation of euphoria, getting locked down as his eyes swept by the file.
"And that's all you found out?" he asked.
"Yeah. The department was quite busy. With the pressure of expectations on us, we had a lot to do." Admitted Jang. "As for this case, if we don't solve it, the whole department."
"And did you find another clue?"
"No."
"Alright. Let's see this." Akashi said, "the body had been sold to the art museum. Only a week later was it found to be a dead body.
"Needless to say that a waterbender was freezing the fluids inside the puppet. And if the smell was found out a week later, it meant that the waterbender would visit every other day to refreeze the puppet.
"As for it being in an art museum, it's either a serial killer who's saying that 'I'm an artist.', or someone close to these murdered people that he would visit them every day to preserve their bodies.
"Gather the human resources and split them into two. A team should get the details about who visited the mummies last days. And the other should look for a shared friend or relative to the dead people. Try to connect the dots, and you may find your killer if it's my second guess."
Jang was writing so fast on his notebook, trying to keep up with Akashi, who was talking as if he was a professor.
"And what if it's a serial killer."
Akashi pondered for a second.
"Have some undercovered visiting art museums. Tell them to touch the puppets, or human statues. If found cold, have a waterbender trying to warm them up. If it got warm, it means you have another body… Ah, and don't think of taking the whole credit, or else, you may end up with a lot of pressure on you in the future…"
"Good point," said Jang.
"Which point?" Akashi asked.
"All of them," he replied, smiling weirdly.
"Let's go and see the crime scene." Akashi stood up, finally having something to do.
And so, Akashi went back to the police station, as a consultant. And he worked with his previous colleagues. At the end of the days, they found the killer, just by selecting shared friends, relatives, between the victims, and with further investigation, they selected the waterbender one.
After that, Akashi got to continue his life working like usual, hiring people for his businesses, before continuing training his flight skill. He had gotten heavier weight, and he leveled up smoothly.
By the end of the trial, he had heard the notification.
[Flying up to level 3]
Currently, he was donned in an attire fitting the court. And with a nod to the mirror, he left to join the trial meant for the Equalists.
