Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

I hold back a chuckle at the shocked expression of the people in front of me. Also, I immediately notice the difference between the people here and back home. Back home, they are stronger. After scanning them all, the people back home are twice as strong compared to these people.

I guess that's what you get from cranking up the difficulty to 'Frontier' and making the strongest hunter able to fight Elder Dragon toe-to-toe, and each Elder Dragon can destroy a country.

"Um, what do you mean by Alternate World… Lord Omnevis?"

I look at the Alternate Fugen and say.

"Just that. We come from an alternate dimension, like this one, but in a different situation. You have Hinoa, Minoto, and Utsushi, and we have the same with a few differences. I come here to take care of something and perform my duty. However, I bring an alternate Hinoa to this place to let her learn something new to help her people back home."

Alternate Hinoa look at my Hinoa and say.

"Is Kamura in trouble?"

"At the moment? No. We were able to achieve a peaceful time because of the help of Lord Omnevis. Without him, I don't think Kamura Village will survive."

"What do you mean?"

Before they can have a full-blown conversation here, I decide to interfere.

"You can talk somewhere. For now, I need to check this world and perform my duty."

My Hinoa nods her head and gives me a bow.

"Of course, my lord. I shall wait for you here."

I give her a nod and start to fly away. The reason why I want to go to this world is to scan all the monsters in this world. Don't get me wrong, the monsters back in my world are stronger but humanoid.

I want monsters that look like monsters, you know? Even the massive Zorah Magdaros that died in Frost Island is humanoid in shape.

I want a kaiju to summon when I face another kaiju. When I first arrived here, I had already scanned all the monsters in the Shrine Ruins area. That means I can visit other places to scan more monsters.

I think I will visit the Misty Peaks first. It is the closest to here, and I can go to the Flooded Forest next. From there, I think I will visit the archipelago and visit Moga Village while at it. I will make sure to do everything I need here before going back.

I also need to connect this world through my Planeswalker power. I have a lot of Mana, but there is nothing wrong with gathering more.

|3rd POV|

A.Hinoa (Alternate Hinoa) looks at her counterpart from top to bottom and wonders how she can move with those massive breasts.

And Hinoa wonders how her counterpart can attract mates with that modest pair of breasts.

However, before they can ask that question, Elder Fugen breaks the silence.

"Let's break this silence and start the conversation. May I ask if what you said is true?"

"Yes," Hinoa nods her head, "I am from Kamura Village. Not this one, but an alternate version of it. According to Lord Omnevis, it is like tree branches. The creator, a powerful being that creates our world, is the trunk of the tree. Coming out of that trunk are branches, and each branch is a world just like ours. Lord Omnevis is able to visit other worlds for he is the Lord of the Sky, Elements, Death, Life, and Travel."

Hinoa proudly says that and does her part as a Priestess (Still unofficial) of Lord Omnevis. She will make sure to note and write all the powers her lord shows her and spread them around to show the world.

While she feels proud, the others look at her in shock and confusion.

"God? Really? He is an Elder Dragon. I know they were considered a God in the past, but they are still Elder Dragons, you know? They can be killed."

Hinoa looks at her alternate self with a frown and says.

"Maybe. Maybe you are right. However, to our eyes, he is a God. Can an Elder Dragon restore the massive shrine in the Shrine Ruins Region? Can an Elder Dragon create something from nothing? Can an Elder Dragon resurrect someone from death?"

The others look at her in shock, and one of the hunters, watching from outside the house, shouts.

"He can resurrect the dead?!"

Hinoa looks at that person and smiles.

"Yes. However, you need to know something before you get your hopes up. He cannot resurrect someone who died more than two weeks ago. He said something about the soul entering the Circle of Reincarnation and cannot be taken away. Second, he cannot resurrect someone who does not want to be resurrected."

"Why is someone willing to reject a resurrection?"

She looks to the side and says.

"Some who have nothing left in the living world. A father who lost his wife and children. A son who lost his friends and family. They already reunite in the afterlife and do not want to return."

"Afterlife? But I thought our souls entered the Circle of Reincarnation?"

"Ah, I don't know the details, but he said something about the afterlife being part of the circle. Our soul is not really entering the circle, but is bonded to the circle after two weeks. Once the bond is secured, the soul cannot leave."

Many do not understand, but the rest nod their heads in understanding. Among them is Alternate Fugen, who decided to change the subject of the conversation.

"Right. You said something about your Kamura about to get destroyed if not for Lord Omnevis… Can you expand on that?"

"Of course, Elder. Let me tell you about the Rampage and how it changed our lives."

Hinoa tells them about her world and how the Rampage happens each year, and it can last for seven to ten months, with only two months of break. She then tells them that one day, Omnevis appears in the Shrine Ruins Region and claims it to be his own.

They know about his presence because of one desperate wife and mother who wants to bury her family in the land of the Gods. From there, Omnevis takes control of the region and ensures the monsters do not attack them unless they go deeper into the region.

The others look at her, horrified at her story. They cannot imagine life in her world. A world where death is just outside the door and ready to take your life away. A world where trading is a massive risk job. A world where hunters rarely live past their fifties. A world where countries getting destroyed is common.

It feels like a nightmare to them.

"That's why… That's why we are grateful for him. We do not need to send our younger generation against a horde of monsters. Instead, they can train in the safer zone where they can slowly grow instead of directly entering the gate of hell."

Hinoa takes a deep breath and looks Fugen right in the eyes with pleading eyes. The eyes of someone who is desperate. Someone who is looking for hope.

"That's why… Can you help us? Anything we can bring there will be helpful. We only have one fortress left, and once that gets destroyed, Kamura Village is gone."

The people around her look at her, waiting for the answer from their leader. Fugen stays silent for a few seconds before giving Hinoa a determined nod.

"Tell me what you need."

Hinoa looks at him with happiness.
