Chapter 3 - Favor Point

Walking into the living room on the first floor, the famished Anna looked at the large pot of steaming boiled fish and bread on the table.

The aroma of the bread and the meaty scent of the fish stirred Anna's sense. Her dark, beautiful eyes flickered with intense desire and she swallowed hard.

God, it smells so good. If I could eat just even a little... that would be the best thing in the world.

But she couldn't. Slaves were not allowed to sit at the table and eat with their masters.

Suppressing her hunger, Anna walked to a corner of the living room and squatted down, trying her best not to look at the delicious food on the table.

"Anna, what are you doing squatting by the wall?" Lucian asked, puzzled.

Anna turned her head, her cat ears drooping with a bitter expression on her face. "The fish and bread smell so good, I'm afraid I won't be able to resist pouncing on the table."

When a person was starving, they could do anything.

Once, Anna was so hungry that she snatched food from the slave traders and almost got beaten to death by them.

Since then, she never dared to offend slave traders again, nor did she dare to offend Lucian, her slave owner.

Lucian smiled, this cat girl was quite honest.

He explained to Anna, "This was made for you anyway, come and eat."

"For me? But I'm just a slave."

Anna's beautiful eyes widened slightly, unable to believe what she had heard.

A slave owner inviting a slave to eat at the table?

What a magical thing, it was like the sun rising from the west or finding a virgin in a brothel.

Lucian said indifferently, "Slaves are also people and they need to eat too. I bought you at a high price of one hundred gold coins, so I can't let you starve, can I?"

Anna was too hungry.

Having received her master's permission, she no longer had any reservations and pounced on the table like a hungry ghost.

She picked up two pieces of bread, opened her mouth wide, took a bite from the left, then the right, stuffing her cheeks as she chewed nonstop.

The soft, sweet bread, with its wheaty aroma filling her mouth, was simply delicious.

"Meow~ So good, so delicious."

"It's a hundred times better than the coarse bread in the dungeon."

With her mouth full of food, Anna spoke in a muffled voice, her face beaming with a happy smile.

"Eat freely, don't be polite with me."

As an Apprentice Priest of the Holy Church, Lucian was richer than most people and didn't care about this little bit of food.

"Nya~ Thank you, Master."

She quickly devoured two pieces of bread, then picked up two more and gobbled them down.

This slave owner seems different from the ones her elders had warned about. She thought inwardly.

[Ding!]

[Anna's favorability towards the host +10]

[Current favorability: 10/100]

The system's voice sounded.

Feeding food to the beasts indeed earned their favor.

Lucian secretly rejoiced and then said to her, "That pot of boiled fish was also made for you."

Finishing the bread in her hand at the fastest Speed, Anna's gaze fell on the large pot of steaming boiled fish in the middle of the table.

She directly reached into the pot and scooped out a piece of fish, putting it into her mouth without minding the heat.

The fish melted in her mouth, incredibly tender. The fresh flavor instantly exploded on her tongue, and the pleasure spread from her tongue throughout her entire body.

Anna trembled with delight, becoming excited, as if her body had reached its climax.

[Ding!]

[Anna's favorability towards the host +10]

[Current favorability: 20/100]

The system's voice sounded.

Twenty points of favorability gained from one meal, Lucian was very satisfied with this.

Anna finished the pot of boiled fish, then picked up the pot, drank all the soup and slumped back into the chair, her body and mind greatly satisfied.

"Anna, from now on, you'll follow me and work for me. You'll have delicious food every day."

"Work? What work?"

She sat up straight, her cat ears perked and looked at Lucian warily.

There was no reproductive restriction between different races on the Gritonia Continent, so bad things might happen.

"Main job is to hunt monsters. Side job... ahem... I'll tell you about the side job later."

Such a beautiful cat girl, it would certainly be a lie to say he didn't want to take advantage of the situation, but right now Lucian needed to improve favorability with Anna. He would talk about it after maxing out the favorability first.

"Okay, Master."

Hunting monsters, though a bit dangerous, was a legitimate job.

Obtaining food through her own hard work was much better than breeding offspring for an evil slave owner.

At this moment, Anna felt her future was bright.

Lucian had raised a tabby cat before and often used a cat teaser wand to play with it, knowing that cats are naturally lively and curious.

He wondered if cat people were the same?

He walked to the living room window, picked up the feather duster next to the window and came over to Anna.

He used the feather duster as a cat wand, waving it in front of Anna.

Anna narrowed her eyes slightly, a bit speechless, "Master, if I were a few years old, I might be interested in a feather duster but I am nineteen this year, a mature cat girl. I am not interested in feather dusters."

"Really?"

He didn't stop, continuing to wave the feather duster in front of her.

The colorful feather duster swayed back and forth in front of her, as if it had a magical power, stimulating Anna's most primitive desires, giving her an urge to grab it.

No, no, I am already an adult cat girl, I can't do such childish things. She strongly resisted the temptation of the feather duster.

She held out for a few more minutes, then could no longer resist the temptation and reached out to swat at the feather duster.

The colorful feather duster, so beautiful, so fun. Hehe~

Lucian revealed a triumphant smile, as if his trick had succeeded; the feather duster was simply a treasure for cats.

"Meow meow meow~ Meow meow meow~"

This was so much fun.

Anna's eyes sparkled, a smile on her face, and she continuously made joyful cat sounds.

[Ding!]

[Anna's favorability towards the host +5]

[Current favorability: 25/100]

The system's voice sounded again.

Lucian played with her for a while, then contentedly put away the feather duster. His favorability with Anna reached 25 points.

This little kitty was easier to win over than he had imagined.

Anna looked resentfully at Lucian, feeling sorry for herself. Damn it... I was controlled by a human.

....

The next day.

Lucian took Anna to the Quain Town's Holy Church.

The Holy Church was not large, built entirely of black stone, with towering spires, a typical Gothic building.

In the small square in front of the church, stood a graceful and gentle female statue, with long ears like those of the Elf race. Some of her long hair cascaded behind her, while some was braided into a large plait resting on her chest. A few leaves adorned the hair near her ears and she wore a thin veil, her beauty reaching its peak.

The Holy Church worshipped the Life Goddess and every church had a statue of the Life Goddess in front of it.

Worshippers stood in front of the Life Goddess statue, closing their eyes, clasping their hands and silently praying.

A young worshipper greeted Lucian, "Priest Lucian, good morning. I really envy you for being able to become a Priest."

"This is all the guidance of fate."

The Life Goddess governed life. To become a priest of the Holy Church, the first condition was to learn the most basic Healing magic.

Lucian's Healing skill happened to have the same effect as Healing magic, so the people of the Holy Church thought Lucian knew Healing magic and allowed him to be an Apprentice Priest in the small church of Quain Town.

Lucian walked into the church, the front hall was adorned with patterns resembling tree branches and tender shoots.

The Life Goddess was also known as the Goddess of Plants and it was said that this was the Life Goddess's original form.

"Priest Lucian, where is Father Wilbur?"

A man asked Lucian.

"I don't know, I'll go check the back hall."

Lucian guessed that old man Wilbur had overslept.

The Quain Town's Church only had two clergymen, Lucian and Wilbur, with Wilbur being Lucian's superior.

Father Wilbur was usually not very dedicated to his work. Although he couldn't be considered a good priest, this didn't prevent him from being a good boss who easily signed off on things.

This time, Lucian had discussed the purchase of the beast slave with Father Wilbur beforehand and Father Wilbur had readily agreed.
