Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: I hate you, Aubrey.

As for Aubrey and Serena, the two of them—father and daughter—had accidentally encountered each other, at this very moment. Which made him, unable to believe his own eyes. Witnessing this, he pressed her with questions, word by word:

– Tell me! Why,... Why are you still alive? But,... you didn't,... come back home?

– And tell me,.. tell me! Was it you,... You who did,... all of this,... wasn't it?

Hearing him ask that much, she sighed heavily and looked at him straight in the eyes, with an extremely angry and resentful expression.

Then, she answered, his questions:

– You really want to know the reason, don't you?

– Aubrey: Yes, I do! Tell me!

Looking at Aubrey's appearance now, so eager to hear the answer from Serena, made her even angrier. Then, she clenched her teeth, furrowed her brows and shouted loudly at Aubrey.

– It's because, you abandoned me! No matter how much I begged you!

– You still ignored me! And chose to save those filthy peasants instead!

– Do you have any idea! How I've had to suffer through the past decades?

– And do you know, how desperately I wanted to escape, that damned place?

– I begged those demons, with all I had! Hoping they would release me!

– But I knew, those bastards! Would never, do such a thing!

– But then one day, luck finally smiled on me! When I accidentally heard, their secret!

– Those cold-blooded mages, were hiding a gemstone, that contained an enormous source of power!

– So I waited for the moment, when those damn bastards let their guard down, then ate that gem! To gain more power!

– And sure enough, after eating that gem! I was able, to awaken my powers and easily defeat them.

– But maybe, the way I see it,... With this level of power, I still couldn't beat you!

– So I came up with an idea, that is,...

– To hunt down others, and absorb their powers!

– To become stronger!

– So now! I can finally, face you head-on, and defeat you! Right here and now.

Upon hearing this, Aubrey was completely stunned. His face turned pale, as if all the blood had drained from it. Hearing these words, from his own biological daughter. Now, all he could do was helplessly stammer, and ask her with a trembling voice:

– No,... no way! Why,... Why did you,... End up like this,... Serena?
