Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Sprouting of Wisdom: First Steps and Amazing Words

Little Kourosh, in the warm embrace of his family in Anshan, astonished those around him every day with his amazing progress, capturing every gaze. While other infants struggled for months to take their first steps and whisper their first rudimentary words, exasperating their nurses, Kourosh surpassed the boundaries of a child's natural development with incredible speed. Before the sixth month of his life was over, his legs had gained such strength that he could sit up gently with the help of his small hands and maintain his balance for moments at a time, as if he had commanded his own body from his earliest days. These premature and unusual advancements were the first clear signs of the hidden genius and ancient wisdom that had taken root within him.

From the very first months, his whispers were more than the meaningless and incomprehensible babbling of an infant. Simple but clear words like "water," "bread," or "mother" flowed from his lips before he had completed his first year, spoken with a tone that indicated a full understanding of their meaning. These words stunned the nurses and Mandane; they would repeat the words over and over, looking at each other to make sure what they had heard was not a figment of their imagination. His astonishing intelligence was also evident in his understanding of complex instructions; with a single gesture or word, he knew what was wanted and would respond with a piercing and intelligent gaze, as if he had known the language of men for years.

Before his first year, little Kourosh took his first steps with legs that were shaky but determined. These unsteady yet firm steps were not only a sign of his rapid physical growth but also displayed an iron will and a resolute determination hidden behind his penetrating eyes. Cambyses, his father, upon witnessing these unprecedented and unbelievable developments, was overjoyed and a deep pride took root within him. He and Mandane, along with the nurses and the elders of the household, were amazed by Kourosh's unusual intelligence and remarkable calmness, and they considered him a divine gift from Ahura Mazda, as if the Divine Glory had manifested in him from the moment of his birth.

Mandane, recalling the ancient stories and her deep belief in the Divine Glory, became more convinced than ever that Ahura Mazda had placed the Farrah-e Izadi in Kourosh and had blessed him. This unnatural calmness and intelligence, unseen in any other infant, was, in her view, the only explanation for such extraordinary progress. She felt that this little infant, despite his young age, was the bearer of a grand plan for the future of their land and that a great and unique destiny awaited him; a destiny that might perhaps surpass all the previous kings of Media and Persia and make the name of Iran eternal for thousands of years.

Kourosh, with a mind that held all the knowledge of the twenty-first century, observed his surroundings with the precision of a researcher. He analyzed every sound, every image, and every movement in complete detail. The Old Persian language he heard from Mandane and those around him was quickly absorbed into his mind and adapted to the modern linguistic structures he knew. This process of comprehension was not only easy and intuitive for him but also enjoyable, as if he had always known this language and it only needed to be awakened within him. In silence, he was acquiring a treasure trove of vocabulary and grammar that would prepare him for the future.

Although he was a small child and his body imposed limitations on him, he did not see himself as confined to his small form. His mind floated amidst a sea of information, and he tried to adapt this vast knowledge to the realities of the ancient world and find ways to implement it. In his childhood games, instead of the usual play, he often engaged in building with stones and wood, as if practicing for the great engineering feats and monumental constructions of the future. Even at this age, he was looking for a way to communicate more effectively with the world around him so that he could convey his ideas in a more tangible and understandable way.

This early development and brilliant intelligence were, for young Kourosh, not just a divine gift but a tool; a powerful tool to win the trust of his parents and those around him and to prove that he was no ordinary individual. He knew that to implement his ambitious plans, he first had to establish his position and show that he was beyond an ordinary child, so that in the future, he could execute his revolutionary ideas without undue resistance and gain the necessary support to achieve his ideals.
