Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

Exploring a New World

After releasing their embrace, they both looked at the stack of documents beneath the letter. It contained various magic circles and blueprints of their watches. It seemed Jimmy and Irene had worked hard to create those two watches so they could return to their first world.

"These are all their research files," Adrian said.

"Yes, they really searched for a way to return to their world, but in the end, they settled on Earth. I hope they reincarnate again in this world and find each other," Elsa replied.

"Let's go look outside," Adrian invited.

"Yeah, let's go," Elsa replied.

Holding hands, they both walked to the door, then "creak," they opened it. Adrian and Elsa, standing at the doorway, were amazed to see the vast yard in front of them, planted with various kinds of plants. On the right were several apple trees, and on the left was a beautiful flower garden. In the flower garden, there were two gravestones in the middle. The entire yard and house were enclosed by a simple wooden fence, and beyond the fence, a beach was visible.

Adrian and Elsa walked around the yard, seeing rows of corn, tomatoes, potatoes, cassava, and eggplant. Elsa bent down to look at the garden produce in the yard. It was indeed true; the results were truly good and fresh. Elsa picked a tomato and immediately ate it, giving a little to Adrian next to her.

"Delicious," Adrian said.

"Yes, the tomato is excellent," Elsa replied.

They walked around the yard, which was filled with various plants, then they walked between the apple trees towards the backyard. It turned out that behind the house was a not-so-spacious yard, a shed, and a wooden bathtub covered by a canopy overhead. On the right side of the backyard, there was also a sturdy wooden dummy, seemingly used for sword practice. When they looked outside the fence, it turned out that behind them was a dense, unspoiled forest.

After passing through the backyard, they circled to the left side and paused in the flower garden. They gazed at the two gravestones in front of them. The first read "Javis" and the second "Irisphilia." Both knelt and prayed briefly in front of the two graves, then they returned inside the house. But before entering, Adrian looked up. There was a sort of semi-circular shield that seemed to cover the entire island.

"We can vacation here, and our future need for food is safe, hehe," Elsa said.

"Yeah, that's right. There are no rooms inside, are there?" Adrian asked.

"Let's go look. We haven't yet seen inside the cabin," Elsa replied.

They both went back inside. Behind the portal, there was a hallway with two doors on the right and left. Adrian and Elsa opened the door on the left. Inside was a shed containing weapons like wooden and iron swords, farming tools, and a table with many thick books on it. They closed the door again and opened the room across from it. It was a simple but large bedroom, big enough for two, with an open window.

"There's a room here," Adrian said.

"But there's only one. We have to share a room then," Elsa replied.

"Well, what else can we do? No one will know here anyway, and as long as we don't do anything else, it's fine," Adrian replied.

"Hehe, you're so silly. What were you planning to do?" Elsa teased.

"Sleep," Adrian replied.

"Ugh... weak," Elsa replied, hitting Adrian's arm.

After that, they went to the back and saw the kitchen. On the left was an exit to the backyard and directly to the bathtub. After looking around, they both returned to the front room and sat on the sofa, which seemed to have been intentionally brought there from Earth.

"I don't know why, but there are so many memories here," Adrian said.

"Yes, but they must be Dad's and Mom's memories," Elsa replied.

"Definitely. So what should we do here?" Adrian asked.

"Well, vacation, go to the beach out front, practice walking, hehe," Elsa replied.

"But you can walk fine here," Adrian retorted.

"Still, I also want to walk in the other world. I need to remember the feeling, the sensation, and how to do it here, then bring it over to the other side," Elsa replied.

"Hmm, that's true. There was a wooden dummy earlier, right? Let me try for a bit."

Adrian stood up and walked behind the portal. "Click," Adrian was heard opening a door, and soon after, he brought out a wooden sword and sat back down next to Elsa.

"A sword?" Elsa asked.

"Yup, just try practicing here, who knows, you might need this skill someday, hehe," Adrian replied.

"Hehe, that's true," Elsa replied.

"But not now, I'm sleepy," Adrian retorted.

"Yeah, it's already night here, but it's daytime there, right?" Elsa replied.

"It's another world, after all. Should we just sleep here? Tomorrow's a holiday," Adrian said.

"No, I don't think so," Elsa replied.

"Why?" Adrian asked.

"If we're going to sleep, we should bring our own mattress here. It just doesn't feel right. That's Dad's and Mom's bed from when they lived here until they reincarnated. It doesn't feel right for us to use it," Elsa replied.

"Hmm, you're right. Okay, we'll bring our own mattress here later," Adrian replied.

"Hehe, good. Want to go home?" Elsa asked.

"Yeah, let's go. I'm sleepy," Adrian replied.

They both stood up and walked to the front of the portal. "Hup," Adrian immediately carried Elsa, who wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Sorry," Elsa said.

"Sorry for what?" Adrian asked, surprised.

"You're carrying me now," Elsa replied.

"You're light. Besides, if I don't carry you, what if your legs disappear? It'd be troublesome if you fell," Adrian retorted.

"Hehe, you're really kind," Elsa replied, tightening her embrace.

"Alright, let's go, ready?" Adrian said.

"Yeah, ready," Elsa replied.

Adrian stepped into the portal and emerged in his apartment unit. Both pressed the button on their watches twice, and the portal disappeared. "Thud," Adrian immediately lay down on Elsa's bed, then covered his face with his arm, but he immediately sat back up.

"Ah, sorry, I'll go to my room then," Adrian said.

"Eh, no, I'll just sleep in your living room, keep me company," Elsa replied.

"Seriously?" Adrian asked.

"Yes, seriously," Elsa replied.

Adrian lay back down and took off his shoes, then he lifted his legs. Elsa turned off her watch and crawled to sleep next to Adrian and the wall.

"Good night, Elsa," Adrian said.

"Yes, Adri, good night," Elsa replied.

Without further ado, both immediately closed their eyes and soon fell asleep on Elsa's bed, which was in Adrian's living room and they still holding hands.
