Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

The day was bright and sunny, the birds chipping and dancing, everything felt in place.

Tracing a Cupid arrow on the window of my taxi, my eyes fell on the diamond ring on my finger as I smiled at the thought of my fiancé and what he had installed for tonight's dinner. The green, knee-length gown he bought graced my skin beautifully.

Stepping out of the taxi, I thanked the driver who returned it with a smile and nod.

I brought out my phone to inform him that I was outside, but the phone kept on ringing with no answer. 'he probably must not be close to his phone, I'll surprise him then ' With that thought I gleefully but carefully brought out the key from my purse, opening the door with minimum noise and closing it back.

The light in the living room was dim, seeing the reflection coming from the kitchen I decided to check it first but he wasn't there, knowing the final place he could be in this house I turned around but not before an object caught my attention, I moved closer to check the cups with unfinished red wine on the counter, in one of them was a lipstick mark. ' perhaps he had a guest from the office or something' I thought, but my heart was still unsettled for some reason.

Deciding not to waste much time I went upstairs, I could hear mumbled voices through the closed door 'Is the guest still around ?', I brought my ears closer to the door.

"Ahh!! Yes, faster…..please!!!oooooh that's the spot"

"Ahhh Baby!, more!!"

The bed moved continuously.

I couldn't believe what was happening, why was it happening, I slammed the door open but they either did not hear me or ignored me while he continued pounding her.

"Cole!!" I screamed out his name, finally hearing me he turned to look at me stopping their actions. I expected him to start denying or begging me at least but he didn't do any of that, I turned my gaze to the girl beneath him "You…Ari..Arianna!!" I stuttered in disbelief, this isn't happening, right? I'm dreaming, it's all in my head but that hope was immediately crushed when I heard their laughter.

Mockery filled their faces as my sister and my fiancé looked at me.

"I can make a space for you if you don't mind," Cole, said, his eyes scanning my body "Virgin slut", they both snickered at some kind of inside joke.

"How can you both act like this? How could you do this!"

"It took you long enough darling sist…" she slurred as Cole slowly pulled out of her earning a soft arousing moan from Arianna.

The feeling of disgust overwhelmed me "Why?" was all I could ask.

"Really?"Arianna said sarcastically as she picked up Cole's shirt lying on the ground, sniffing it before wearing "Did you really think he would marry you? An illegitimate daughter?"

"Arianna!" I yelled as my vision blurred with either anger or unshed tears.

Tsk tsk tsk " You look so miserable right now, why don't you leave already, go cry to mummy, oops, you don't have one?" she snickered.

"You..you said..you loved me" I wiped away the small teardrop that had formed at the corner of my eyes as I turned my gaze to Cole. "how could you do this to someone you love?"

"Love? You expect me to love a cheating whore? You couldn't even let me do it once yet you opened it for numerous men" he scoffed, while Arianna sat on his lap.

"Whore? What do you mean by numerous men? I've never cheated on you Cole believe me!" I pleaded as my inside arched badly.

"Believe a whore?"

"Cole" I called breathlessly as I inched forward.

"Drop my keys and leave my house, I don't want to ever see you here"

"But..but" I stuttered confused on what to say or do next.

"You heard him didn't you, illegitimate whore"

Coming from Cole was one thing but coming from the person who deserved the title was another, in anger, I raised my hand to slap her but Cole held it while Arianna slapped me twice causing me to fall harshly on the floor.

"How dare you try to hit me you bastard" Arianna got up angrily kicking me multiple times on the floor, "Bitch!" She screamed as the kicks got more fierce.

"Darling, we don't want a dead whore here," Cole said as he carried Arianna away, turning to me "What are you still doing here? Do you want to die that bad?"

With that I slowly stood up from the ground, holding my stomach "I'll make you regret everything " I walked away not before hearing Arianna say " What's the worst a trash like you can do, don't forget to leave my father's house today!"

I shut the door and all the tears I tried to hold back came rushing down.

"Are you still there?" Arianna's voice came from behind the closed door, I quickly left his house boarding a taxi back to my father's house.

Dragging my heavy feet to my room," You really thought he would marry you didn't you, coming to this house flaunting your newfound rich fiancé only for him to fall in love with my beautiful daughter, such a shame"

Susan, my stepmother, used her shoulder to move me aside as she walked away.

Thinking about how I've always treated her like my mother hurt me deeply, I never knew who my mother was and my father was rarely around and when he was, there wasn't any difference as he never cared, I have always turned a blind eye to their maltreatment thinking it would get better someday, then I found Cole who made me feel wanted and loved, but that was all a lie too.

I entered my room feeling overwhelmed. I walked over to the closet, grabbed the gown I had been wearing, and in a fit of frustration, I threw it out of the open window. Feeling emotionally drained, I collapsed onto the bed, tears streaming down my face as I eventually cried myself to sleep.

———-

The sounds of screaming jolted me from my sleep, then came the sound of items being smashed, knowing fully well the possible perpetrator I sighed as I picked up my phone to check the time which was barely five in the morning. Arianna never ceases to amaze me.

I sighed as I laid back down on the bed but before I could close my eyes a knock came from the door, more like someone banging the door.

"Jade!" the voice of our housekeeper, Maya, resounded from behind my doors, i quickly jumped out of the bed to open the door as her voice was filled with panic.

"What's going on, are you okay?" Maya is one of the few people who treated me nicely, like her own daughter.

"I'm sorry for disturbing your sleep but there's a big problem!" Her voice rushed.

"What problem?" Before I could receive an answer she dragged me by my hand, forcing me to keep to her pace as she ran down the long flight of stairs.

I wondered what the hell must be going on as this no longer looked like Arianna's regular episode.

Stopping on the last stair, that was when I saw what all the noise was about, a group of men were scattered all over our sitting room. Their presence emanated a strong sense of trouble, my heart pacing in my chest as I took one step forward, taking a glance at Susan, Arianna and my little six-year-old stepsister Devi, they were cramped at a far corner their head bent down as they shivered continuously.

It was rare to find them in such a situation, I felt the urge to laugh as I was always the one shivering like this, but as much as I would love to do that, I didn't because Devi was still a child, she wasn't innocent as her mother had already started filling her head with nonsense.

"What are you guys doing here" It took all the courage in me to let that one out, but the courage was rewarded with nothing but further silence and more destruction.

'Seriously!'

I rushed to stand in front of one of the bulky guys who was about to throw the vase at the TV "No" I said looking him in the eye.

I had no idea where this confidence came from, it was not there when I needed it yesterday.

Finally garnering their attention I asked

" I said what do you want?"

"The second little one can talk " one of the thugs I didn't notice earlier spoke, I had a feeling that he was their leader.

"You can't keep throwing things without explanation" The confidence reduced bit by bit as he walked closer to me.

"Is that so? Forgive my manners dear, I'm just looking for your father"

"He hasn't been home in weeks, please leave"

"That's not a very nice thing to say to your guest" he placed his hands on his chest, faking hurt.

"Now listen to me, if your father doesn't show up in twenty-four hours then I will be forced to initiate the second contract " he smiled sinisterly.

"What contract?" I asked.

"Ownership contract"

"Of what?" My voice quivered as my heart quickened its pace.

"Not of what but of who"
