Chapter 44 - CHAPTER 44

After Cabba left, Linze attempted the ritual two more times, but the result was the same.

Failure.

Now visibly frustrated, Linze clenched his fists.

"Why isn't this working…?"

Just then, Android 18 walked over. She noticed Linze's tense expression, reached out to wipe some sweat from his brow, and asked with concern:

"Still no success?"

Linze exhaled slowly and shook his head.

"Tried three times. Nothing."

The frustration lingered on his face.

It made him question: Was the issue his own heart? Did he truly lack a heart of justice?

Or… was the problem something deeper?

After all, while he now possessed a genuine Saiyan body, his soul wasn't originally Saiyan.

That alone could explain the inconsistency.

Perhaps the ritual required more than just biology maybe it demanded a soul born of Saiyan lineage, a spiritual connection to their warrior ancestry.

And if that was the case… there was no fixing it.

There was no workaround.

No second chance.

Just then, Linze sensed something shift.

The battle aura in the distance Cabba's was growing faint.

Too faint.

"Cabba's energy... it's weakening fast."

Linze narrowed his eyes.

The guy was holding his own before. What happened?

Still frustrated, Linze set aside his doubts and focused.

"Cabba did well. He deserves better than to die like this."

Without hesitation, he grabbed Android 18 and placed two fingers to his forehead.

A flash of light and they vanished with Instant Transmission.

…

Meanwhile, at the edge of the battlefield:

"Frost… Why are you doing this?"

Cabba staggered, blood trailing from the corner of his mouth, one hand clutching his chest. His armor was cracked, his breathing ragged, but the pain in his heart far outweighed the wounds on his body.

"I was such a fool…" he whispered.

His voice trembled with sorrow and disbelief.

"I admired you. You won the Universe Peace Prize three times… You were my idol. My inspiration."

"But you… you're the one leading the universe thieves. You're the one behind this invasion."

Cabba's words were quiet, but his eyes shone with fierce disappointment.

Frost smirked coldly, lifting one hand lazily.

"You want the truth, Cabba?" he said with a sneer. "Then listen carefully because you'll be dead in a moment."

"You Saiyans… always getting in the way. Always interfering when I expand into other planets."

"Because of you, a garbage planet like Sadala ended up on my hit list."

He extended one clawed finger, pointing it directly at Cabba's heart.

"So really, all the Saiyans on Sadala should hate you."

Frost let out a chilling laugh that echoed across the ruined field.

Cabba could only stare in stunned silence.

"I can't believe this… I really thought he was someone great…" Cabba thought.

Regret twisted in his chest like a knife.

"Time's up, kid," Frost declared.

He began to gather energy bright yellow ki coalescing into a sphere at the tip of his finger. The ball of energy pulsed ominously.

"You're a nuisance. So disappear."

With a simple flick, the energy sphere launched toward Cabba and the injured Saiyans around him.

Cabba looked up at the glowing death racing toward him.

"So this is it."

"Killed by the very person I once believed in."

He let out a bitter laugh not of fear, but of overwhelming regret.

He closed his eyes.

And waited for the end.

Whoosh...

Just when the energy ball was about to strike Cabba and the others, a sudden beam of energy pierced through the air.

Then the energy ball exploded mid-flight, vanishing in a flash of golden light.

"What—?!"

Frost's eyes widened in disbelief. He spun toward the direction from which the beam had come.

"Who dares interrupt me?"

His voice was sharp and irritated.

A figure appeared through the smoke, slowly descending from above. The ki radiating from him was overwhelming.

"Mr. Linze!"

Cabba's face lit up with hope and awe the moment Linze landed.

"It really is you!"

Frost's gaze darkened.

"Tch. Linze…"

"So, it's really you, Frost."

Linze's voice was cold, steady his eyes focused like blades.

"You picked the worst time to show up. I'm not in the mood for mercy right now."

"Heh. In the mood?" Frost clenched his fists, baring his fangs.

"You dare interfere with my conquest? I'll crush you whoever you are!"

"Annoying pest."

Linze narrowed his eyes, raising his right hand calmly.

In the next moment, an enormous energy sphere dense with compressed divine ki—formed in his palm.

BOOM!

With a flick, the blast erupted forth.

The detonation tore through the air, swallowing Frost and his entire battalion of Universe raiders in an instant.

Four or five ships hovering above were consumed by the explosion, reduced to molten wreckage in seconds.

The ground shook violently.

Cabba and the nearby Saiyans stared in stunned silence.

Frost—the Universe 6 tyrant, the one second only to Hit in strength had been erased without resistance.

Along with him, hundreds of powerful Universe pirates vanished.

"M-Mr. Linze… thank you…"

Cabba's voice trembled with disbelief and gratitude.

Just moments ago, he had accepted death.

Yet Linze had arrived like a god and vaporized their enemies in an instant.

"Thank you, Mr. Linze, for saving us!"

As Cabba spoke, the rest of the Saiyans looked at Linze with awe and reverence, as if witnessing a divine figure descend from the stars.

Linze, however, wasn't interested in their worship.

In truth, he hadn't intended to help them specifically.

His attack wasn't for Frost. It was an outlet born of pure frustration.

The failed transformations, the mounting pressure…

But then

"Linze, look!" Android 18 tugged on Linze's arm urgently.

He turned to follow her gaze.

And froze.

A golden aura glowing, gentle, and divine was emanating from every Saiyan nearby.

Hundreds of Saiyans stood bathed in waves of light, pulsing like the tide. A shimmering halo danced around each of them.

Though their power levels hadn't spiked, something else had changed.

Their hearts.

Their spirit.

"Cabba! Have everyone join hands exactly like before. Focus your hearts into me. Quickly!"

Linze barked the order, barely containing his excitement.

This time it could work this time it felt different.

Because he had saved their lives moments ago, the Saiyans were fully devoted hearts aligned with Linze without hesitation.

Cabba and another Saiyan placed their hands on Linze's back.

And then

Linze felt it.

A surge of divine energy coursed through his veins.

Sssshhkkk…

A brilliant column of golden light burst into the sky, piercing the clouds and linking with the cosmos.

CRACK!

Lightning shattered the sky.

A raging storm engulfed Planet Sadala.

Thunder echoed across the mountains.

The clouds turned radiant gold, as if heaven itself were opening.

The entire world trembled under the weight of the transformation.

It lasted five full minutes.

When the sky finally began to calm, Cabba and the five Saiyans collapsed to the ground, completely drained.

But Linze stood tall at the center his body surrounded by a divine, flame-like aura.

His pupils and hair now glowed with a brilliant crimson-red.

He had ascended.

In Dragon Ball Super, when Son Goku first achieved Super Saiyan God, his hair and eyes turned red, but his physical form remained lean and refined closer to his base form than his Super Saiyan transformations.

But Linze's body… had changed even further.
