Chapter 47: The Final Battle (Part 1)
[The square-shaped Infinite Corridor was directly blown apart by the towering flames. Sirin stared in astonishment at the man before her, who was wielding a greatsword of flames, looking neither human nor Honkai Beast. As the voice in his head chanted "Kill the Honkai," the skin on Siegfried's right arm had turned black with purple textures, and his five fingers had become sharp claws. A thick, powerful tail had grown from his shoulder blades.
"Hmph, just an ant in the end..."
Sirin waved her hand dismissively. Before a Lance of the Void could even be launched, Siegfried had already leaped high into the air, pouncing on her like a ferocious beast. His sharp claws pressed her pretty face to the ground.
"Get... off me!"
An extremely enraged Sirin used the authority of the Herrscher of Flame. Amidst a vortex of fire, Siegfried raised the Might of An-Utu and cleaved the sea of flames in two with one stroke. Luckily, Sirin flew up in time to create distance; otherwise, she would have been easily split in half.
Seeing Sirin trying to pull away, a battle-hungry Siegfried roared to the heavens and shot up like a meteor. The very floor collapsed from the reactive force. A frightened Sirin quickly flew even faster.
With no point of support, Siegfried fell back to the ground. He dug his beast-like claws into the outer wall of Babylon Tower. The greatsword of An-Utu gathered flames, and with a powerful swing, the fire transformed into a vortex that engulfed Sirin.
"What on earth... is happening?" Theresa, at the bottom of Babylon Tower, watched all this, completely bewildered. Einstein came up from behind and helped her up.
From their conversation, it was revealed that Welt had not died after all. His consciousness remained within the core, merged with the Arahato.]
"So cool!" Kevin's eyes were shining. No man could resist a beast transformation and a flaming greatsword, complete with awesome special effects for the fight.
"The special effects are amazing, but I still feel they're not as good as Hua's," Pardofelis said. Siegfried's effects were impressive, but they didn't have the same stunning impact on the audience as Fu Hua's Taixuan Sword God.
"Sirin is getting beaten so badly." Kiana was confused. How was this Theresa's highlight? This was clearly Siegfried's highlight, beating the world-destroying Herrscher until she was running for her life.
"Aaaaaah, Siegfried!!!" Seeing her highlight stolen again, Theresa let out an unwilling wail, waking up Himeko.
"Mmm... what's wrong?"
Bronya watched strangely. She couldn't understand why Welt Yang just couldn't be written off. Was this the special privilege of being a collaborator?
Senti nudged Fu Hua and said, "Old Timer, let me tell you..."
[The camera cut back to the Schicksal command post. Amber, having received six reports of An-Utu reactions, was a little panicked. Otto's appearance calmed her down. He looked at Siegfried on the screen.
"Less a savior of the world, and more... a demon seeking revenge on the Honkai."
Siegfried, relentlessly hunting Sirin, constantly heard the voices "Kill the Honkai, kill the Honkai" in his head. After using {An-Utu} six times in a row, the greatsword's energy was depleted, and the core gem on its hilt had gone dark.
"Have you finally run out of energy?!" Sirin panted, her fair face covered in soot. She snapped her fingers, and countless Honkai Beasts teleported from a void with a single target. "Get him!!!"
But in the next second, the once-arrogant Sirin froze. Siegfried was actually restoring his energy by gnawing on a Honkai Beast. This feral behavior stunned Sirin. When she came to her senses, she quickly threw several Lances of the Void.
Siegfried leaped high. The greatsword of An-Utu was unexpectedly knocked from his hand by a Lance of the Void. He used his tail to wrap around the greatsword, leaped again, and severed Sirin's arm. Taking advantage of her cry of pain, he slammed her to the ground with a blow from behind.
Sirin, having fallen to the ground, was just about to struggle up when Siegfried stomped his foot hard on her pretty face. He plunged his sharp claws into her chest and, amidst her agonized screams, forcibly ripped out the Herrscher of Death core.
"The Honkai... must be destroyed!"]
"Stinky old dad!" Sirin puffed up her cheeks and glared at Siegfried.
Siegfried whistled, not daring to meet Sirin's eyes. The entire movie had focused on Cecilia's motherly love for Sirin, but he, the father, seemed to have never shown Sirin any fatherly love.
"Mama, look at him!" Sirin turned to Cecilia to complain. "And stinky uncle too!"
Cecilia patted Siegfried irritably and said to Sirin, "Sirin, you have to take this up with Yàqīng. He's the screenwriter; he wrote the whole plot."
"Stinky uncle..." Sirin sulked to herself.
"I bet Sirin is crying and throwing a tantrum right now," Kiana snickered like a cat that had gotten the cream.
"Uh... what's with all this animosity?" Raiden Mei didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"I never thought Siegfried's highlight would be achieved by beating up his own daughter," Theresa said with a strange expression.
Sirin was also a student at St. Freya Academy, albeit on indefinite leave. If he had beaten up Sirin like that in the story, Theresa really wouldn't know how to face her.
[Kevin's simulated phantom appeared behind Siegfried, constantly giving him psychological suggestions. But he found that Siegfried's brainwaves were chaotic. The thing affecting him was the Infinite Corridor box in his hand.
Cecilia, still inside the Infinite Corridor, had her concern for Siegfried transcend space, causing him to stop his actions and regain a little clarity. And Kevin, whose consciousness was linked to Siegfried's, felt his own heart beat violently from this strange emotion, making him unable to help but recall a certain person.
"Forget it. Just protect what you think is important."
Kevin gave up on continuing to give Siegfried suggestions. The Herrscher of Death core was already in hand anyway; Sirin could no longer be revived.
On the verge of death, Sirin was still thinking of her god. She asked everyone, but no one answered her. It was as if she were in a dark ocean, slowly sinking.
The power of the Herrscher of the Void began to go out of control, and the Infinite Corridor was about to collapse.]
"I can't believe the big boss is finally done for, and at the hands of... that rotten guy. I thought it would be Director Cecilia." Shigure Kira hadn't guessed the plot's development and had thought it would be Cecilia's final highlight.
"Kirara, if you go to the Far East..."
Sitting next to Shigure Kira was a girl who looked about her age, with long, linen-gray hair of the same shade as Yàqīng's. Her eyes held the same gentleness as Cecilia's, and she wore a pendant around her neck.
"It's almost the finale..." Pardofelis suddenly had a bad feeling. Based on this development, the ending couldn't possibly be sunny, positive, and uplifting.
Sirin is so pitiful. In her final moments, she sought help from her god, her mother, and her companions, but no one alive answered her call. She could only fall alone into that dark, deep sea, Sakura thought.
"So, even after 50,000 years, I still haven't forgotten her." Kevin tightly gripped MEI's hand.
