Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Another Call with Welt Yang

Chapter 83: Another Call with Welt Yang

"Achoo! Achoo! Achoo!"

Yaqing sneezed several times in a row, rubbing his sore nose. He said irritably, "Who on earth is cursing me behind my back? It must be Kevin. Damn you, Kevin!"

Back at World Serpent, Kevin sneezed and muttered to himself, "Could Su be talking about me again?"

In an office on the third floor of a top-tier hospital, Su sneezed several times. He wondered to himself, Could those two, Yaqing and Kevin, be cursing me?

"Achoo!"

Yaqing took a tissue and blew his nose.

"Lord Yaqing, have you caught a cold?" Rita asked with concern, a tray in her hands with delicate little pastries and a cup of coffee with sugar and milk.

"Maybe. I feel like someone's cursing me."

Rita smiled, but thought to herself, There are plenty of people cursing you. The whole internet is full of them.

As a perfect secretary, Rita naturally didn't say this out loud.

"Lord Yaqing, if you need, Rita can go buy some cold medicine for you," Rita said, putting down Yaqing's afternoon tea and leaving his office.

Only Yaqing was left in the office.

Yaqing looked at the phone on his desk, his heart a little conflicted. As Shabu had said, he did have the idea of letting Welt take the blame again. But as Patrick had said, he had no other choice.

After a strong internal struggle, Yaqing picked up his phone and called Welt Yang.

"Mr. Welt, I'm sorry to disturb you on this beautiful afternoon. I hope I haven't interrupted your afternoon tea time."

In a coffee shop in a certain city in North America, Welt Yang listened to Yaqing's light, teasing voice on the other end of the line. A vein popped on his forehead, and he said coldly, "Yaqing, if you don't learn to speak properly, I'm hanging up."

The red-headed, lobster-like doctor sitting opposite Welt Yang silently mouthed, "Who is it?"

Welt Yang covered the microphone of his phone and mouthed back: Yaqing Schariac.

Tesla nodded, indicating she understood.

"My apologies, my apologies, Welt. I forgot you don't appreciate such an attitude."

To Yaqing's unapologetic reply, Welt Yang didn't give him a good look, remaining just as cold. "Let's be frank. You wouldn't be calling me if you didn't need a favor."

"Heh, as expected, you know me well," Yaqing chuckled, stood up, and looked at the bustling traffic below. He continued, "I imagine Dr. Tesla is also listening to our conversation. Dr. Tesla, I have long admired your name."

"How did you..." Welt was shocked. Tesla hadn't made a single sound. How did Yaqing know she was sitting opposite him?

"Huh?" Tesla was also stunned.

"As it happens, I have something I'd like to ask of Dr. Tesla and Dr. Einstein."

"What do you want to do?" Welt became vigilant.

"I just want to invite the two doctors to voice a character in the movie."

"What character?"

Tesla didn't immediately agree. After all, with the precedent of Cocolia, she was also worried that Yaqing would arrange a hate-able villain role for her.

"Please rest assured, Dr. Tesla. In terms of directing, the two doctors are my life mentors. I also grew up watching the Arahato directed by Dr. Tesla."

"What do you mean you also grew up watching the Arahato I directed? Are you saying I'm old!"

"If I have offended Dr. Tesla in any way, please forgive me," Yaqing said, apologizing without any backbone.

His apology stunned the deliberately provoking Tesla. She had originally intended to overwhelm him with her imposing manner, but now her offensive had been defused by his move.

Welt Yang helplessly took the phone back from Tesla's hand and said, "If you want them to do voice acting, first send over the script and let them choose whether they are willing to do it."

"A perfect suggestion. I am more than willing to oblige," Yaqing agreed immediately.

"Is there anything else?" Welt Yang was unwilling to talk to Yaqing any more than necessary. He just wanted to hang up and enjoy his afternoon tea time with Tesla.

"Of course, there is one more question," Yaqing laughed. "Mr. Welt, you don't seem to have sent me the script and character designs for that Anti-Entropy project. So how am I supposed to find the corresponding actors for you?"

"I didn't give it to you?" Welt Yang asked, puzzled.

"Naturally not, Mr. Welt. I don't think I'm at an age where I would suffer from senile dementia yet," Yaqing said, his words laced with implication. It was clear he was not without a temper.

Welt Yang heard it, but he didn't fuss over it. It wasn't because he was magnanimous, but because he didn't want to continue bickering with Yaqing and wanted to spend some quality time with Tesla as soon as possible.

"I'll send it to you when I get to work in the afternoon."

Welt Yang hung up after speaking, not giving Yaqing any room for a reply.

Yaqing looked at the disconnected call. He didn't understand this kind of emotion. Or rather, he didn't understand love. In Yaqing's heart, there was only fun, no women.

"What should I do next?"

The salary thief, having declared his work for the day finished, left the company building under the helpless gazes of the others, drove his luxury car directly to the suburbs, and returned to the Golden Courtyard.

At the Golden Courtyard, those who had to work were at work, and those who had to go to school were at school. Only a few people who didn't have jobs, or who worked from home, were left. Yaqing came back just in time to meet Pardofelis.

"Pardofelis, are you going out?"

Pardofelis, about to go out, was not wearing her cat onesie, but a slim-fitting shirt and black sweatpants, with a baseball cap on her head and a small cloth bag slung over her shoulder, looking very girlish.

"Brother Yaqing, you're back? Big Sis Aponia asked me to go buy some things and deliver them to the orphanage," Pardofelis replied while putting on her shoes.

"Do you need a ride?" Yaqing spun the car keys in his hand.

"No need. It's not far from the orphanage. I can just ride my bike there," Pardofelis refused, took the key to her bike lock from the shoe cabinet, and prepared to go out.

Yaqing entered the house and went straight for the fridge.

A sip of iced Coke on a cold winter day was instantly refreshing.

"Eh? Yaqing, you're back so early again~?"

Without turning around, Yaqing knew who it was. "Eli, what do you mean 'so early again'? When am I not this early!"

"Your job is so easy~"

"My job is different from Kevin's. He relies on his body, I rely on my brain," Yaqing said, sitting on the sofa, picking up the TV remote, and preparing to watch Honkai I: Poem of the Wind again.

"Oh, come on, don't watch that. If you have nothing to do this afternoon, why don't you join me for a livestream~"

Elysia, afraid that Yaqing would be stimulated again, prepared to pull him into a livestream with her.

"What?"
