Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Third Movie Production Begins

Chapter 90: Third Movie Production Begins

The Spring Festival concluded with Eden's song, and the third film in the Honkai series was soon put on the schedule. Yaqing had set his sights on this year's summer blockbuster season, which meant Cheng Lixue and Patrick, along with Shigure Kira, were once again sighing at the workload.

Recently, Yaqing had split Patrick's department in two. Patrick would continue to be in charge of character modeling, while Shigure Kira's team would be responsible for scene modeling and rendering.

"Teacher."

Yaqing was on a call with Otto.

"Yaqing, my old friend, your talent impresses me. In just a few short minutes, you can show the audience a villain who is both mad and unscrupulous." Otto's tone was unreadable, making it unclear whether he was pleased or angry.

"Teacher, I..." Yaqing took a deep breath. "Whether you agree or disagree, Teacher, I will not revise the script. I cannot let my personal emotions be responsible for His ending."

"Oh~, this is the first time you've ever talked back to me. Is it for the script? Or do you truly see this movie as the development of another world?" Otto said with a laugh.

"Both, I suppose."

"Hahahaha, very good, very good. I didn't expect you to still maintain such a childlike heart. Mmm, I never chose to refuse from the beginning. The voice files you need will be sent to your email in a week."

"Thank you, Teacher." Yaqing took a sip of his coffee.

In Yaqing's heart, Otto was both a teacher and a father. Thus, he always held a strange fear of him.

"Yaqing, can you tell me, which 'you' am I speaking to right now?"

Otto's words stunned Yaqing.

"Haha, just kidding, my friend."

Otto hung up.

Yaqing's mind kept replaying Otto's final words.

"What on earth am I thinking? Overseer Otto just likes to tease people," Yaqing muttered to himself, a faint smile on his face as he tapped the desk, making a dull thumping sound.

But his furrowed brow indicated that his heart was not at peace.

"Knock knock knock... knock knock knock... knock knock knock."

The continuous knocking on the door didn't stir the pensive Yaqing. Shabu, outside the door, couldn't wait any longer. She pushed the door open and walked in, saying, exasperated, "Boss, I thought you weren't here. Stop tapping that desk."

"Shabu, what are you doing here?" Yaqing stopped thinking and looked at her.

Shabu unceremoniously sat down on the guest sofa. "Boss, you should be the one to contact Kiana and the others. With the script you wrote, I'm really afraid of offending people."

"Fine, I'll contact them," Yaqing said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. But he had no choice. The script he wrote first took a knife to the plot of the first movie, and then followed it with a series of more knives.

"Boss, when Kiana and the others arrive, have them send me a message. I'll take them directly to the recording studio. It'll save you the trouble of them coming upstairs," Shabu said, flashing her signature shark-toothed grin.

"Alright."

After Shabu left the office, Yaqing called Theresa.

"Hello, Yaqing. Are you slacking off again?"

The moment Theresa saw it was Yaqing calling, her first reaction was that he was slacking off again.

"Don't make me sound like a salary thief. I work very hard too."

"Give me a break. I'd sooner believe Himeko could quit drinking than believe you work hard."

Yaqing could clearly hear Himeko shouting something on the other end of the line.

"Himeko, I'm on the phone!" Theresa dealt with Himeko, then said to Yaqing, "You wouldn't be calling me if you didn't need something. Spit it out."

"Theresa, that's not the level of intelligence you should have," Yaqing teased.

"Shut up, or I won't agree to anything you say!" Theresa said angrily.

"Are you sure, Theresa? I'm inviting you to do voice work for the third Honkai movie," Yaqing said playfully.

"The third movie has already started recording?!" Theresa couldn't suppress her voice.

Yaqing listened to the chaotic noise from the other end of the phone. There was Kiana's voice, Mei's, Bronya's, Himeko's, and Theresa's own. He couldn't make out what they were saying at all.

"Is Sirin still at the academy?" Yaqing asked.

"She is," Theresa said, looking at Sirin being fed by Bella with a strange expression. Although it felt strange, her heart accepted it all, as if she had seen such affection many times before.

"Call Sirin too. She has a lot of scenes as well."

"Okay, who else?"

"Fu Hua."

Yaqing looked at the script and reported the names to Theresa one by one.

"But they have classes this afternoon, and Himeko has classes too," Theresa was in a difficult position. She couldn't just have the students go do voice acting and skip class.

"Then schedule a time in the afternoon when they don't have class. Himeko can come in batches. Her role is quite large, so one afternoon probably won't be enough to record everything."

"Himeko has a large role?"

Himeko, who was preparing her lesson, looked up subconsciously when she heard Theresa's voice.

"Alright, I understand."

The moment Theresa hung up, Himeko couldn't help but lean over and ask, "Theresa, were you just on the phone with Mr. Yaqing? What does it mean that I have a large role?"

"You want to know?" Theresa said with a smug look.

Himeko nodded.

"I'm not telling you~"

Theresa lifted her little face proudly.

Kiana also came over. "Great-Aunt, Uncle must have given you the script, right? Let us see."

"Mmm, no," Theresa pouted. "Perhaps the failure of the last movie stimulated him, so he's being extremely secretive about this one. It's possible that when we go to do the voice work, we'll only get the script for our own character."

"Ah, why is it like that!" Kiana wailed at the sky.

Theresa, as if remembering something, continued, "Yaqing also said that if we're really short on time, we can go in batches. For example, Himeko and Sirin have a lot of scenes, so one day might not be enough to record everything."

Sirin, who was enjoying being fed, had a look of confusion.

Her character was already offline. What scenes could she possibly have?

Kiana had the same confusion.

"Isn't Sirin already offline? Why does she still need voice acting? Is she appearing in a flashback?" Kiana's head was full of question marks.

"If you ask me, I don't know either," Theresa said with a helpless shrug.

"And Fu Hua. Maybe everyone who's supposed to be on screen in this movie will be," Theresa said.

"I have a feeling my uncle is preparing something big," Kiana shivered and said to herself. "I have a bad feeling about this."

Bronya was playing games with Senti.

After the game ended, Senti said, "Just the old-timer? When is the role Yaqing promised me going to be on screen?!"

Bronya considered that she had seen through it all.

The role Yaqing promised Senti was probably just to comfort her.
