Chapter 10 - The Koala Judge.

Andrew groaned as he rolled over in bed, forehead pressed against his pillow.

"Ugh... what was yesterday all about?"

"~"Ugh... yesterday didn't go well at all. Out of all days, my period had to hit yesterday. But... wait... she might have feelings for me? That's... not terrible... can I use this info to escape the engagement?... What am I even supposed to do with this?~"

He thought to himself, eyes half-shut. The memory of Tina fussing over him, the chaos of her alpha care, and his own sassy protests came back in sharp, slightly embarrassing clarity. His thoughts tumbled over themselves, a mix of panic, disbelief, and that strange, fluttering feeling in his chest. Before he could spiral further, a soft knock at the door made him sit upright, blanket clutched around his torso.

"Oh... you're already awake? That's great! I come bearing breakfast!"

Tina's cheerful voice called from outside. Andrew blinked, peeking through the small gap in the door. Tina was balancing a tray stacked with steaming bowls, plates, and small glasses of juice. The smell alone, the warm, comforting aroma of honey, cinnamon, and a faint hint of ginger-made his stomach twitch in gratitude.

"Woah... that's..."

He started, momentarily at a loss for words. Tina grinned, tilting her head in that innocent but chaotic way that always made Andrew internally groan.

"You're speechless, aren't you? Don't worry, it's all yours. Anyways... how was your night?"

Andrew muttered under his breath, rubbing at his eyes.

"Wouldn't believe there was such a thing as too much sleep until I experienced it myself..."

Tina laughed softly, stepping into the room and setting the tray on his bedside table.

"Okay... not that you're asking, but mine was great. Super cozy, low chaos, except for Neko Neko being dramatic, obviously."

Andrew raised an eyebrow, blinking at her.

"Kay... so did you... make all this?"

He gestured vaguely toward the tray: a small bowl of oatmeal topped with berries, a plate of scrambled eggs with soft herbs, a stack of pancakes with a thin drizzle of maple syrup, and a few mini muffins arranged like tiny perfectionists had placed them. There were also little glasses of orange juice and a tiny dish of dark chocolate-covered almonds, supposedly good for cramps. Tina let out a small, dramatic sigh.

"Well... no. I mean, I tried... but I'm like a disaster in the kitchen. You know I've never had to cook since... well, Elijah's grandfather was my family's butler, and then Elijah too. I tried to prove I didn't need one... I cooked for Elijah once. Hospitalized for weeks. So, yeah... no more cooking for me."

She poked at her cheeks, pouting.

"I mostly helped assemble this tray, okay? I promise... no one was harmed."

Andrew squinted, trying to look unimpressed but failing.

"Umm... okay."

He took a bite of the oatmeal, then a little of the eggs, and finally a tiny pancake, chewing slowly as Tina stared expectantly.

"Why are you staring a hole into me?"

He finally asked, lifting his gaze from the plate.

"Well... how does it taste?"

She asked softly, almost whispering. Andrew shrugged, pretending casualness.

"Does it matter?"

Tina's eyes narrowed slightly, but the corners of her lips twitched upward.

"Well... yeah. Even though I didn't really cook it, I helped a lot. So it matters!"

Andrew chewed another bite, swallowing slowly.

"It's... not bad."

Tina's grin widened.

"Oh... you say that, but you're really gobbling it up."

He groaned dramatically, picking up a mini muffin.

"That's just how I eat when I have my period."

"Okay..."

Tina tilted her head, clearly unconvinced but unwilling to press too hard.

"Still... you're enjoying it, right? That counts!"

Andrew huffed, reaching for the small plate of chocolate-covered almonds.

"Hmm... maybe. But don't get used to seeing me like this. Mr. Sassy is still sassy... even on period day two."

Tina leaned closer, hands brushing over the edge of the tray as she watched him.

"Mhm... sure, sassy... just... slightly softened sassy. I see it in the tiny twitch of your lips when you think no one is looking."

Andrew froze mid-bite.

"...What tiny twitch?!"

Tina's lips twitched into a soft, knowing smile, but before she could answer, Andrew leaned back against his pillows, blanket tugged higher around him.

"Okay... seriously though... can you... stop hovering?"

He muttered, voice tinged with both annoyance and discomfort.

"I'm not hovering..."

Tina said, hands raised in mock surrender.

"I'm just... making sure you're okay."

Andrew groaned, rubbing at his temple.

"Don't you have to go to work or something?"

"Well... of course not! My fiancé is on his period, remember? I can't just leave him like this. Besides, Miyu's helping me, so I'm fine."

Andrew sighed, trying to ignore the warmth in his chest at her words.

"Okay... but can you at least stop staring daggers at me?"

Tina tilted her head, eyes mischievous.

"Well... I lost my tablet so I can't continue reading my manga, and I don't know where it is. But I do know it's in my bedroom... I think. Elijah's looking for it too."

"Shouldn't you help him?"

Andrew asked cautiously.

"He doesn't mind."

She said lightly.

"But shouldn't you mind?"

He pressed, trying to sound stern.

"...umm..."

"Just because he doesn't,doesn't mean you shouldn't."

She groaned.

"Okay... but I can't just leave you unsupervised."

"I'm not a kid, I don't need supervision."

Tina's eyes lit up with a tiny spark of mischief.

"Oh! Wait... I've got an idea."

Before Andrew could react, she darted out of the room and returned almost immediately, cradling Neko Neko in her arms.

"Huh?"

Andrew blinked.

"Neko Neko will look after you."

She said, plopping the little koala onto the blanket beside him. Andrew muttered, half-grumbling, half-relieved.

"Well... at least he's better than you staring daggers at me."

Neko Neko squeaked indignantly as if accepting the new role, hopping slightly closer to Andrew's side, tiny paws kneading at the blanket. Andrew tried to focus on his breakfast, but the soft, judgmental squeaks and the faint warmth of Tina's nearby pheromones-sweet vanilla-mint,made him feel oddly... soothed, even amidst the discomfort of his period. He picked up a piece of pancake, chewing slowly while stealing glances at the little koala. Tina sat cross-legged nearby, sipping her own tea, watching him with a quiet, hidden smile. She leaned just a little closer, not intrusive, letting the faint scent of her pheromones waft over him, mingling with his natural honey-spice aroma. Andrew shivered, momentarily distracted from his sassy defenses.

"Mm... good pancake."

He muttered through another bite, eyes flicking toward Tina.

"...But shouldn't you go and help Elijah now ... Neko Neko's... watching."

Tina chuckled softly.

"Okay... fine. Neko Neko's your supervisor... I'll just... sit nearby... quietly... definitely not glaring... just... caring."

Andrew sighed, setting down his fork with a faint clink.

"No, you have to go help Elijah and stop hovering over me."

Tina pouted, lips pursed like she'd just been scolded.

"Do I have to?"

"Yes."

His tone was flat, but his eyes flicked up at her.

"Don't you want to find your tablet quickly?"

Her expression shifted in a heartbeat, curiosity winning over pride.

"Well... yeah...Okay then."

She hesitated just long enough to make him wonder if she'd argue again, but finally turned on her heel and padded toward the door. The faint trail of vanilla-mint pheromones followed her out, leaving the room strangely quiet once she was gone. Andrew let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding and picked up his fork again. Peace at last until he noticed another pair of eyes drilling into him. He turned slowly toward the windowsill. Sure enough, Neko Neko was perched there like a tiny, furry judge, tail flicking lazily while his eyes gleamed with suspicion. Andrew groaned.

"Oh, don't you start."

The koala tilted his head.

"What? You think I'm the bad guy here? She was practically burning a hole through me with all that staring. How's a guy supposed to eat in peace?"

He shoved another bite into his mouth, chewing louder than necessary as if to prove a point. Neko Neko didn't blink. Andrew narrowed his eyes right back at the little creature.

"You're worse than her."

For a second, it looked like the koala smirked. Then his tail gave a smug little flick, as if saying ' I'm watching you, Omega.' Andrew pulled the tray closer protectively, hunching over his food like a dragon guarding treasure.

"Great."

He muttered under his breath, glaring at the fluffy judge on the windowsill.

"Now I've got two alphas breathing down my neck."

The silence stretched, filled only with the scrape of his fork and the steady flick-flick of Neko Neko's tail. Breakfast had never felt more like a battle.

Neko Neko's Mini-Theatre:

The sun peeked through the curtains, casting warm streaks across the room. From my spot on the windowsill, I, Neko Neko, observed the morning battle of wills between my two humans. The alpha brought a tray, stacked high with food-eggs, toast, fruit, even soup. I tilted my head. She looked proud, as if she had hunted all of this herself. Truth be told, I smelled Elijah's careful cooking all over it. Still, she bounced in like she was the grand chef of the century.

The omega blinked blearily at the tray, then at her. His eyes narrowed, like he couldn't decide if he should complain or laugh. I flicked my ears. Typical Andrew-always grumbling, even when he secretly likes something. The alpha hovered, practically wagging an invisible tail, waiting for his approval. He took a bite, then another. I twitched my nose at the way her shoulders relaxed when he didn't spit it out.

"Why are you staring a hole into me?" he asked, voice dripping with sass.

"Because I want to know how it tastes," she shot back.

I almost purred. These two-so dense, yet so loud with their feelings. The room was already thick with their scents. Sweet, sharp vanilla-mint rolled from her, sharp enough to tingle my nose, while his honey-spice pheromones spread like a soft blanket. Together, they clashed and blended, making the air heavy and warm. I kneaded my paws against the sill. Honestly, how did they not notice what was happening?

He muttered something about "eating like this on his period," and she just nodded as if that made perfect sense. I snorted. Humans are strange. Omegas even stranger. But the alpha? She looked at him like she'd conquered the world just by serving breakfast.

I licked my paw, watching them exchange hidden smiles. Breakfast was only food to them. To me, it was proof: my humans were circling closer, one bite at a time.

The omega human is feeling very uncomfortable with me staring at him but I might be enjoying see him all flustered.
