Chapter 30 - Pillow Forts And Mischief.

The mansion was unusually quiet that morning, the sunlight slipping through the towering arched windows and painting warm patterns across the polished marble floors. But inside the living room, chaos was quietly brewing. Tina flopped onto the sofa, a small notebook clutched in her hands, eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Andy, you have to see this!"

She squeaked, tapping the coffee table for dramatic effect. Neko Neko had already claimed the center of the table as his perch, tail flicking lazily. Andrew, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes after his night shift at the bar, leaned against the doorframe.

"What now?"

His voice was thick with morning grogginess, but the faint twitch of a smirk betrayed his curiosity.

"Tiny's gotten another one of her… schemes?"

Tina grinned.

"Not a scheme! It's a… Top Secret Mischief Log!"

She held the notebook up dramatically, as if presenting a royal decree.

"I'm documenting all my pranks, doodles, and… well, you."

Andrew's eyebrows rose.

"Me? Why am I a target?"

He stepped closer, eyes flicking to the colorful scribbles already covering the pages. Stick figures, exaggerated facial expressions, and little clouds of chaos represented him, Neko Neko, and even Tina herself in her most over-the-top poses.

"Because you're hilarious! And I need evidence."

Tina said, tapping a page with a tiny finger.

"Look, this one's you slipping over my sock trap. Classic Andy."

Andrew groaned, throwing a hand over his face.

"I cannot believe I agreed to live in this… madness."

Meanwhile, Elijah, who had been quietly tidying up breakfast in the hallway, noticed the notebook. He stepped closer, straightening the scattered pens on the table with a faint, almost imperceptible sigh. Protective. Careful. As always. Tina, of course, was too absorbed in her doodling to notice him. Neko Neko twitched an ear, watching Andrew warily, then—without warning—climbed onto the coffee table. His little koala paws bumped against the cup holding colored pencils, sending them rolling across the floor.

"NEKO NEKO!"

Tina squealed, laughter bubbling up uncontrollably as she chased after the runaway pencils. Andrew groaned, facepalming dramatically.

"Why do I even try to survive mornings in this house?"

Elijah, silent as ever, knelt and began picking up the pencils with meticulous precision, arranging them neatly back into the cup. He shot Tina a faint, almost imperceptible glare—but it didn't register. She was far too busy laughing, flipping her hair, and occasionally scribbling more doodles in the notebook. Andrew bent down, helping Neko Neko avoid knocking over another pencil cup.

"I swear, one of these days, this koala will ruin something truly expensive."

He muttered. Tina giggled beside him.

"Andy... You mean like… your dignity?"

She teased, poking him in the ribs. Andrew squirmed, pretending to protest.

"Tiny! Stop calling me that!"

"I love it when I call you Andy."

Tina said, eyes sparkling, totally ignoring his protests. Andrew groaned again, cheeks turning faintly pink. The mansion itself seemed to echo with their chaos. Plush rugs cushioned every stumble, colorful cushions and soft throws were strewn across the living room, and secret little nooks Tina had decorated with stuffed animals and quirky trinkets created tiny worlds within the vast space. Sunlight reflected off the polished floors, making Neko Neko's dark fur shine in golden highlights. Tina's laughter grew louder as she scribbled another page.

"Look! This one's Neko Neko stealing your socks while you were distracted by my sticker trap!"

She held up the page for Andrew to see. Neko Neko twitched an ear, seemingly approving of the exaggeration. Andrew groaned again, plopping onto a cushion.

"How did I get stuck with this… whirlwind?"

"Not whirlwind."

Tina corrected, bouncing slightly on the sofa.

"Tiny Tornado!"

Neko Neko rolled his eyes—or at least, humans might interpret it that way. To him, it was a perfect morning. Observing chaos, judging reactions, and occasionally tipping over a pencil cup or two.

"Okay."

Andrew muttered, flopping onto a cushion dramatically.

"You've officially turned my morning into… whatever this is. Mischief log, sock theft, koala chaos… all of it."

"And I love it!"

Tina squealed, dragging him toward the garden. Neko Neko leapt gracefully from the table, following closely as the real adventures of the morning began. Elijah, silent and watchful, remained inside. He straightened the last of the pens, brushing imaginary dust from the table, and allowed himself a faint sigh. The chaos outside? None of his concern. For now. The garden was a sprawling mix of vibrant blooms and soft grass, carefully manicured but dotted with tiny surprises—Tina's little touches. Plush animals from the living room had followed them outside, some arranged on garden benches, others 'guarding' flower beds. Neko Neko padded silently behind Tina, whiskers twitching as he inspected every movement, tail flicking in anticipation of potential chaos.

"Andy!"

Tina called, crouching to arrange a plush rabbit beside a patch of marigolds.

"You have to help me build the garden fort!"

Andrew raised an eyebrow, brushing imaginary dirt from his hands.

"Tiny… I've already survived the living room. Do I really need to dive headfirst into a garden fortress now?"

"You want to help!"

Tina insisted, planting another plush bunny with utmost seriousness.

"You're officially co-architect of Mischief Fort!"

Andrew groaned dramatically, kneeling beside her despite himself.

"Co-architect, huh? Guess I'm doomed to be dragged into this nonsense."

Neko Neko, hopping onto a low stone wall, tilted his head and blinked at Andrew. He flicked his tail, narrowly missing a plush giraffe, and then watched Tina place a tiny blanket over the 'bunny guards'. Meanwhile, inside the house, Elijah lingered near the sliding glass doors, silently watching the scene unfold. His hands were clasped behind his back, posture perfectly straight, as if nothing could ruffle him. But a faint crease of concern crossed his brow whenever Tina leaned too far over the garden fence. He didn't interfere—Tina had no clue about the emotions quietly simmering in his chest—but Andrew caught glimpses of Elijah's careful, protective gaze. He smirked to himself, clearly unbothered. For now... Back in the garden, Tina twirled, arms outstretched, pretending the plushies were marching soldiers.

"See, Andy? You have to guide them! Lead them!"

"I… lead them?"

Andrew squinted at the assortment of stuffed animals, raising one brow.

"I'm a bartender, not a toy general."

"You are a general!"

Tina declared, eyes sparkling.

"And you're my brave, sassy general!"

She leaned toward him, pinky extended in mock solemnity.

"Do you accept your mission?"

Andrew groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I—Fine. Mission accepted… but only because Tiny insists, and I can't resist… this adorable chaos."

Neko Neko, watching from the edge of the flower bed, flicked his tail in amusement. He padded closer to Tina, brushing a paw against a plush bunny, sending it tumbling into the grass. Tina squealed, Andrew winced, and the chaos escalated with laughter filling the garden. Tina darted toward Andrew, tickling his side just enough to make him yelp.

"You're so stiff, Andy! Lighten up!"

"I am not stiff."

He protested, voice thick with feigned indignation.

"I am… tactically serious."

Tina tilted her head, grin wide, clearly enjoying the verbal sparring.

"Tactically serious… in a plushie battle. Classic Andy."

She leaned closer, brushing his arm accidentally—or maybe on purpose. Andrew's cheeks tinted pink, but he quickly masked it with a huff. Inside, Elijah shifted slightly, hands still behind his back. He adjusted a vase on the table near the doors, his expression carefully neutral. Watching Tina move about, a small, almost imperceptible tension tightened his shoulders, but he said nothing. Observing quietly was enough. Outside, Tina grabbed a small notebook she'd brought along from the living room and began scribbling new doodles: Andrew tripping over a plush rabbit, Neko Neko perched imperiously atop the garden fence, and herself dramatically directing the chaos.

"Andy! Look!"

She squealed, holding it up.

"Top Secret Garden Mischief Log! You're immortalized."

Andrew squinted, groaning.

"Immortalized as… what? The guy who trips over toys and gets tickled constantly?"

"Yes! Precisely! Your legacy is secured."

Tina said, bouncing in place.

"And look! Neko Neko gets his own page too!"

The koala, perched on the fence like a tiny, judgmental king, twitched an ear. 'Yes. My contribution is noted'. Andrew threw his hands up in mock defeat, his usual sass intact.

"How did I even get stuck with… this level of chaos?"

Tina giggled, leaning against him.

"Because Tiny finds you irresistible, Andy."

She winked. Andrew groaned, shaking his head.

"Classic Tiny…"

Neko Neko's tail flicked, brushing against a flower petal. 'I approve'. As the sun climbed higher, the mansion behind them sparkled in warm light, the polished marble floors of the halls visible through the open doors, the grand staircase a silent witness to all their antics. Tina's childlike chaos had transformed an ordinary garden into a playground of laughter, sassy comebacks, and mischief, while Elijah remained a quiet, invisible presence inside, noting everything without ever interfering. By mid-morning, Tina collapsed onto the soft grass, notebook clutched to her chest, eyes sparkling with delight. Andrew sat beside her, groaning but smiling faintly, while Neko Neko observed with quiet judgment, occasionally nudging a stray plushie into place. Tina grinned.

"See? Chaos is good for the soul!"

She wiggled, making Andrew laugh despite himself. Neko Neko, tail flicking in content amusement, settled on a nearby bench, silently judging, silently approving, and silently documenting the chaos in his own koala way. The sun dipped lower, painting the garden in warm golds and ambers. Tina tugged Andrew's hand, skipping lightly along the stone path leading back to the mansion.

"Andy! Inside HQ awaits! There's more chaos to conquer!"

Andrew raised an eyebrow, with a faint smirk.

"Inside HQ, Tiny? That sounds dangerously close to… 'chaos territory.'"

"Exactly!"

Tina squealed, bouncing on her heels.

"And you're my brave co-architect! No backing out now!"

Neko Neko padded behind them, tail flicking, black eyes bright with quiet amusement. Observation continues. The massive glass doors slid open with a soft whoosh, revealing the familiar grandeur of Tina's mansion. Polished marble floors reflected the sunlight streaming in from tall windows. The furniture gleamed with careful perfection, yet there were subtle touches of Tina's personality everywhere—plushies perched on armchairs, colorful cushions scattered like confetti, a miniature tea set atop a side table. Andrew stepped inside, hands on his hips, surveying the space with mock severity.

"Tiny… you do realize you live in a palace of chaos disguised as a mansion, right?"

Tina twirled dramatically, twirling a loose curl around her finger.

"It's not chaos—it's… strategic mischief! And you, Andy, are my perfect co-architect!"

She dove onto a pile of pillows near the sofa, patting a spot beside her.

"Sit! Observe! Contribute if you dare!"

Andrew groaned, sinking onto the soft cushion beside her, still maintaining his sassy composure.

"Observe… sure. Contribute… strategically. And only under protest."

Tina giggled, plopping a plush bunny into his lap.

"See? Operation indoor chaos begins!"

She scattered more pillows across the room, rearranging them into a fortress-like HQ for her plushies.

"Every great HQ needs… towers, secret tunnels, and—most importantly—strategic chaos!"

Andrew pinched the bridge of his nose, suppressing a smile.

"Towers… secret tunnels… chaos… got it. Your miniature plushie kingdom is fully operational."

From the hallway, Elijah quietly appeared, carrying a tray with Tina's afternoon tea. His dark eyes flicked to Tina and Andrew, noting the way Tina bounced around like a whirlwind and how Andrew attempted to maintain his sassy, controlled demeanor. He set the tray carefully on a side table, straightened a stray cushion, and stepped back into the shadows.

~Tina... radiant chaos. Andrew... sassy omega... reacting predictably. My duty... continues.~

Neko Neko leapt gracefully onto the armrest of the sofa, tail curling around his paws, his black eyes watching every motion. Tina clapped her hands, eyes sparkling.

"Andy! You must inspect the HQ and report! Are the towers stable? Are the tunnels secure? Is the chaos… maximum?"

Andrew's lips twitched into a reluctant grin.

"Stability… check. Security… check. Maximum chaos… absolutely... this is tolerable."

"Oh, Andy!"

Tina squealed, bouncing closer, resting her head lightly against his arm.

"You love it! Admit it! Tiny and Andy… unstoppable chaos duo!"

Andrew groaned, pressing a hand to his forehead.

"Love it… tolerate it… same difference, right?"

Tina giggled, tossing a plushie at him.

"Close enough! Now… we need more… fluff! More chaos! More…"

She paused dramatically, surveying the pillow fort and plushie towers.

"…perfection!"

Andrew leaned back, giving a faint smirk, exhaling in mock defeat.

"Perfection… strategic perfection… got it."

Neko Neko flicked his ears, tail twitching in amusement.

Neko Neko's mini theater🐨🐨

From my cozy perch by the sofa, I watch. Every movement, every squeal, every groan—it's all worthy of careful scrutiny. Tina bounces like a soft storm, tossing pillows and plushies everywhere as if she's conducting a symphony of chaos. Andrew—Andrew with his exaggerated groans and dramatic eye-rolls—tries to maintain some semblance of dignity, though I know better.

A plushie cat flies through the air. Andrew catches it with a precise, annoyed flick of his hand, and I tilt my head. Predictable. Delightful. Tina squeals, clapping her hands, eyes sparkling with pure mischief. Humans can be so easy to read when you know what to look for.

I watch the pillow fort grow. Towers lean dangerously, some collapsing under their own weight, yet Tina only laughs harder. Andrew bends to rearrange one tower, muttering something about 'strategic chaos', though the corner of his mouth betrays amusement. I flick my ears. They are chaos incarnate together, yet… coordinated chaos. Fascinating.

Tina darts across the room, throwing another cushion into Andy's lap. He groans, pinches the bridge of his nose, but doesn't push her away. She sits on his lap briefly to inspect her handiwork, bouncing lightly, and he freezes for a second. Interesting. Very interesting. I make a mental note: Andrew's restraint is admirable but… fragile under extreme chaos exposure.

From the shadows, Elijah watches, always carefully, always precise. He straightens pencils and cushions with quiet sighs. Protective, yes, but the tension between Tina's oblivious delight and his subtle frustration is… entertaining. I flick my tail. Humans, their emotions are so loud when you pay attention.

Tina squeals again, giggling, and tosses a tiny stuffed bunny onto Andrew's shoulder. He swats it off, half-grumbling, half-smiling. That sound—half irritation, half enjoyment—never fails to amuse me. Tina claps and squeals again, running a small race around the fort. Andrew follows, groaning, pretending exasperation, but I see the way his eyes linger on her. Chaos, indeed.

I stretch, curling my claws lightly on the sofa edge, content. This is my theater, my observation post. I may be small, I may be quiet, but I see everything. Tina is radiant, chaotic, impossible, and Andrew… Andrew is sassy, flustered, but thoroughly invested in the madness. It is delightful. Perfectly delightful.

And as the afternoon sun drifts lower, spilling golden light across the growing fortress of pillows and plushies, I settle down, tail curling neatly around my paws, eyes half-closed in contentment. Chaos reigns, humans bicker and laugh, and I… I approve.
