Chrono Genesis – Blood Layer 02: The Chamber of Memories
The walls here didn't breathe like the last layer.
They pulsed with emotion.
Faint voices echoed through the stone — laughter, screams, whispers — all flickering in and out like corrupted files trying to play. The deeper Jin and Rei walked, the colder it became.
Before them stood a monolithic door of black crystal, webbed in red veins. Engraved in it were a thousand names, glitching and rearranging endlessly.
But one name pulsed steadily among them:
> Wei Liang
Jin stepped forward, his breath fogging.
> "This is it. His last memory… right?"
Rei didn't answer. Her voice had gone distant.
> "Memories like this… they're not passive. You don't just watch them. You feel them."
Jin placed a hand on the door.
> System Notice: Blood Memory Detected — Warning: Emotional Contamination Risk: High
Do you wish to sync?
He clenched his jaw.
> "Sync."

[SYNC INITIATED — MEMORY: WEI LIANG – FINAL ENTRY]
The world blinked.
Suddenly, Jin was standing inside his brother's body. He couldn't move, only observe.
The world around him was a war zone — flesh walls collapsing, blood rains pouring, red light flaring in the sky. Screams and combat echoed endlessly.
Wei Liang stood in the center of it all, wounded, weapon broken. Across from him stood a masked man in white, surrounded by floating system cubes.
> "You weren't supposed to survive this long," the man said.
> "You made me this way," Wei Liang spat blood. "You wanted to train killers. Congratulations."
> "We wanted to create perfection."
> "You created hell."
Wei Liang activated something — a black orb in his palm, pulsing violently.
> "I'm sealing this place. No one else should find it."
> "You won't survive the recoil," the man warned.
> "Doesn't matter."
Wei Liang turned toward Jin — somehow aware of being watched — and whispered:
> "Little brother… if this place ever wakes up again—don't fight it. Break it."
> End of Memory.

Back in the present.
Jin collapsed, clutching his head.
Rei caught him before he hit the ground.
> "You saw it, didn't you?"
He nodded, breathing heavily.
> "My brother… he didn't just die here. He sealed something. Someone."
Rei's voice was grim.
> "Then it means the Blood Core is still alive. And if it wakes up fully…"
She didn't finish.
Jin stood.
> "Then I'll do what he couldn't."

Meanwhile – Surface World: Black Market Diveport – Location Unknown
Inside a hidden lab built inside a hollowed subway system, three silhouettes stood before an illegal dive terminal. Beside them, a technician adjusted a glowing pod pulsing with corrupted VR signals.
> "Connection to Blood Layer complete," he muttered. "But… you'll be stuck. No returns."
The first figure, a tall woman in red with twin blades, grinned.
> "We're not coming back until we gut the virus."
The second — a silver-haired man with tech-enhanced eyes — loaded a gun glowing with forbidden ammo.
> "One million credits, a guild prestige boost, and a shot at fame? Worth the glitch."
The third was silent.
He stood at the edge, hooded, face unseen — but his voice was cold and familiar.
> "I'm not here for the money."
He pulled off his glove, revealing a burned mark — the same type of chain pattern that Jin's weapon had grown into.
> "I'm here for him."
