The sky split open.
A black rift tore above the skyline as a sleek, obsidian warship descended. From its underbelly poured Voidspawn — shrieking monsters of shadow and bone — crashing into streets, tearing through school grounds, spreading chaos.
Sirens blared. People screamed. And from the sky, Synkris descended — floating above the chaos in dark armor, her corrupted Shard glowing like a storm contained.
And by her side... was Lyra, her eyes vacant, armor darkened, the pink energy pulsing black.
Synkris (broadcasting across the city):"This world will not be conquered. It will be cleansed."
Nova Chamber
Zevor: "She's forcing Lyra into battle. Her mind may still be inside—but the shard clouds everything."Kael (furious): "Then we break through. Or we fall trying."
Battle Begins – School Grounds
The Rangers morphed and charged.
🟥 Kael cut through beasts with blazing strikes, eyes only on Lyra.
🟦 Zayn rewired a communications array mid-battle, using it to redirect drones against Voidspawn.
🟨 Rayna led the defense, organizing evac routes while launching pinpoint blasts.
⚫ Jett blinked through shadows, planting mines and pulling creatures away from civilians.
And then—
Lyra struck.
She moved like a storm of glass and fire. Her strikes precise, merciless—aimed to disable, not kill.
Kael (pleading): "Lyra—this isn't you!"Lyra (cold): "She showed me truth. You… only ever showed me lies."
Synkris (laughing): "She fights because she's free."
But as Lyra's blade clashed with Kael's, there was hesitation.
Kael (softly): "Then why do your hands shake?"
Her eyes flickered—pink beneath the black.
Just for a second.
Elsewhere – Veyra
High above the city, Veyra battled a massive Void beast solo, holding the line.
Veyra (through comms): "We can't beat Synkris today. But we can stop her from breaking us."
