The office was nearly empty.
Lights dimmed. Elevators quiet. The hum of air conditioning the only sound as Aanya stayed behind to "finish paperwork."
But her hands hadn't touched a single file in fifteen minutes.
Because she wasn't alone.
Riaan leaned against the edge of her desk, sleeves rolled up, watching her in a way that burned hotter than any spotlight.
"You stayed," he said quietly.
"You asked."
"No," he corrected, his voice dropping. "I didn't ask. I said nothing."
Her breath caught.
"Then maybe I wanted to."
He stepped forward — slow, calculated. Each step made the air heavier, thicker.
"Maybe," he whispered, brushing a loose strand of hair from her face, "you shouldn't want things that are bad for you."
"Then stop making them feel so good," she breathed.
That was all it took.
He pulled her up from the chair with one hand around her waist, the other cradling the back of her neck. His lips found hers—hotter than before, no hesitation.
The kiss wasn't just lust—it was tension, weeks of it, snapping all at once. He lifted her easily onto the desk, pushing papers aside without care.
She gasped as his mouth moved to her neck, his voice grazing her ear.
"This desk has heard you breathe," he whispered. "Now I want to know what it sounds like when you moan."
Her hands gripped his shirt, pulling him closer.
"Then stop talking," she whispered back. "And find out."
His chuckle was dark. Dangerous. Desperate.
And when he kissed her again, there was nothing gentle left.
