Chapter 3 - Seeking wisdom

Kamarani's journey led him to a remarkable place, the Great Library, a hidden treasure of knowledge and history. Only a few scholars and mystics were aware of its existence. It was believed to contain scrolls and manuscripts from ancient times, and whispers suggested that its archives held secrets capable of shedding light on even the darkest aspects of one's journey.

As Kamarani neared the library, he felt both nervous and respectful. The library was a large stone structure covered in ivy and surrounded by tall trees. The atmosphere around it seemed to hum with a magical energy, as if knowledge itself was alive.

When Kamarani stepped inside, an elderly man with a long silver beard greeted him. The man had an aura of wisdom and kindness. Dressed in simple yet elegant robes, he looked up from a stack of old manuscripts with a warm smile.

"Welcome, Prince Kamarani," the scholar said in a deep voice. "I am Master Eliton, and I have been waiting for you."

Kamarani's eyes widened in surprise. "You know who I am?"

Master Eliton nodded knowingly. "Yes. I used to be a loyal advisor to your father, King Arian. Your father's wisdom and kindness made a strong impression on me, and I have kept an eye on you from afar, waiting for the moment you would come seeking advice."

Kamarani was surprised; he hadn't expected to meet someone who knew his father so well. "It is an honor to meet you, Master Eliton. I seek your guidance not only to understand the challenges ahead but also to learn more about my father's legacy."

Master Eliton signaled for Kamarani to follow him further into the library. The enormous halls were filled with shelves stacked high with books and scrolls, their spines dusty and worn from age. The scholar took Kamarani to a quiet study area illuminated by the gentle flicker of candlelight.

"Your father was a wise and fair ruler," Master Eliton started as he invited Kamarani to sit down.

"He was cherished by the people and held in high regard by his colleagues. His time as king focused on bringing peace and prosperity to Galilia. However, he also faced many difficulties, especially with those who wanted power for themselves."

Kamarani listened carefully, taking in every word. "My uncle's rebellion was a heartbreaking event that has influenced much of who I am today. I wish to honor my father's memory by restoring the kingdom and finding the woman meant for me."

Master Eliton's eyes softened with empathy. "I know you are searching for Alana. The love you seek has transcended lifetimes, and it is a worthy journey. But before you can truly succeed, you must understand both your past and the current challenges facing Galilia."

The scholar paused briefly before continuing, "To assist you, I will share the knowledge and strategies your father once used. But keep in mind that wisdom isn't just about remembering the past; it's about using that understanding to tackle present issues."

Master Eliton began to reveal a set of documents and scrolls that covered different parts of Eryndor's history. These included records of political actions, treaties, and strategies used by King Arian. Kamarani examined these papers closely, appreciating the fine details and the depth of his father's strategic thinking.

"The kingdom still suffers from internal conflicts and outside dangers," Master Eliton explained. "Your uncle's rebellion created a power gap that has caused unrest among the nobles. Additionally, your uncle is using sneaky tactics to weaken your efforts and damage your reputation. You need to tackle these problems with both negotiation and strength."

With each point made, Kamarani felt more determined. "How can I fight against these threats without making things worse?"

Master Eliton smiled thoughtfully. "There are several ways you can handle this. First, you should form alliances with those who are unhappy with your uncle's leadership. Reach out to nobles and important people who have been pushed aside or ignored. They will be crucial in bringing back stability."

"Secondly," he continued, "you need to present yourself as a symbol of hope and change, not just for your own goals but for the entire kingdom. Your charitable actions and genuine care for the people can help you build a positive reputation."

Lastly, Master Eliton warned, "And most importantly, be careful of those who want to undermine you from within. Trust must be earned, and every alliance needs to be chosen wisely. Remember that reclaiming the throne is full of tricks and schemes."

Kamarani took in these lessons with gratitude and determination.

He understood that the road ahead would be tough, but the advice given by Master Eliton gave him a clearer view on how to navigate the tricky world of politics and power.

As Kamarani finished his session, he stood up to leave, feeling a strong sense of purpose. "Thank you, Master Eliton. Your advice has been invaluable. I am committed to honoring my parents and achieving my destiny."

Master Eliton nodded in approval. "I believe in you, Kamarani. Your father's spirit is alive within you."

With a respectful nod, Kamarani exited the grand library, now carrying the weight of his mission along with newfound clarity and confidence.

He found a quiet alley and looked around to see if anyone was watching him. He thought about the room he had occupied for the past five years.

It was a red-brick room with just one desk and a chair piled high with papers. In the corner was a bed with worn cream-white bedding and a quilt that belonged to his beloved mother—he missed her so much.

As he focused, he felt the familiar tingling sensation and buzzing again. He waited for it to fade before opening his eyes.

Looking around, Kamarani sighed; what he had just done was risky but absolutely necessary.

Hearing a noise from inside the room, Jarek walked in.

"All preparations are complete, your highness. People have started to talk, and by sunrise tomorrow, news will reach the King's advisors."

Kamarani nodded as he looked at the silver bangles in his hands and sighed, "Soon, you will be free again, old friend."
