Chapter 11 - his majesty is crazy

Trailing quietly behind Kairos, Lana was dreading her punishment, she didn't know what to expect, was he going to chop off her head or lock her up in that room full of skulls again

Folding her hands together, she flinched glancing at her hand, it was bruised she hadn't noticed

Walking into his room, Kairos turned to face Lana "your hand" his voice was cold

Lana flinched slowly raising her hand together like she was about to get hand cuffed, was he going to cut off her hands for being violent, shutting her eyes she turned bracing herself for the pain

But nothing came only the warm feeling of another palm holding hers

"So you got hurt" Kairos muttered, a frown on his face

Lana opened her eyes, she was too scared to look at him "I... I'm fine your majesty" she whispered

His frown deepening Kairos pulled her closer to him forcing her to look at him, his eyes darkened

"Don't lie to me Lana" he said pressing into her bruised palm, making her cry in pain

"I...I'm sorry your majesty"

Kairos didn't like her trembling in his presence, letting go of her hand

"Sit" he commanded calmly he wasn't planning to frighten her more

Lana walked to the bed quietly taking a sit.

Rummaging through his wardrobe he brought out a bottle of ointment, walking towards her he knelt on one knee

"Give me your hand" he said

"I...I'm fine"

Lana said, moving her hands away from him she couldn't grasp the fact that, a king someone who had enough power and authority to kill her was kneeling in front of her

Kairos frowned "don't make me repeat myself" his voice was calm but it held the hottest form of fire behind it

Alarmed Lana placed her hand on his, her face turning beet red as he slowly rubbed the ointment on her palm, she was confused wasn't he the heartless cold dark Lord that couldn't careless about anyone

He wouldn't even bat an eye if his most loyal aids was killed in his presence, why was he being so gentle with her, the accused thief who stole his mother's necklace, she really couldn't understand but she didn't have to her only plan is to escape him and get back home

Kairos gently rubbed the ointment on her bruised palm, he didn't know why he was so annoyed or even why he cared about little scratches on her palm

Or why he had the urge to shave that maids head and cut her tongue, better still cut her head for daring to hurt Lana, he didn't understand his emotions at all

He has always been indifferent, even on the night he killed his own father the king and his brothers just to get the throne.

"I'm fine now your majesty" Lana said bringing him back to the present

Kairos let go of Lana's hand taking a sit on the chair beside his bed, he was finally calm. A cunning smile spread across his lips

"I didn't know my little maid could be feral, I wonder what other side of you you're hiding" he said

Lana looked down at her palm, the bruises felt much better "I'm not hiding any part of me your majesty" she replied

"Is that so?, so you won't mind if I have that maid killed"

Her breath hitched, was it always killing that went through this man's mind, what a red flag she thought frowning

"You don't have to kill the maid your majesty, the last thing I want is another person dying because of me" she said, Lana felt bad, not everything the maid said was a lie, the last maid did die because of her

"Hmmm...where did the ruthless Lana go, she seemed more fun"

Lana was fighting the urge to smack this king on the head, he was completely unhinged. Letting out a sigh atleast she was grateful he hadn't killed her yet

She couldn't predict him but she'll have to be careful to keep her head intact

"You've suddenly gone quiet" Kairos said cocking his head to the side, he enjoyed teasing her. She never hid her expression behind a mask to be on his good side and it satisfied him to know at least one person by his side wasn't pretending

"You didn't wear the necklace I gave you" Kairos said glancing at her neck

"It isn't mine to keep your majesty I can't wear it" Lana replied

Heaving a sigh of defeat he said "there's a masked ball coming soon, I want you to wear the necklace that night, it is an order"

"Yes your majesty" she said bowing her head, she couldn't disobey an order from him

"Now then, it's time for dinner, why don't you have dinner with me here" Kairos smiled brightly

Standing up without hesitation, Lana wanted to flee from this crazy man, bowing deeply with her back "thank you for the invitation I will be going to my room, goodnight your majesty" saying that she dashed out of his room

Kairos chuckled "how amusing indeed"
