Barragan's expression remained unchanged by the death of his Fracción. He propped his chin on his hand, his single eye filled with thought.
After a long silence, Barragan's raspy voice echoed. "Is this the power of a Fourth Division Vice-Captain?"
How amusing. "Do you know the price of deceiving a king?"
Kyōraku Callum brushed the lingering white smoke from his hand, smiling.
"Still clinging to your title of king, Barragan? Your clinging to pride has cost you any chance of reclaiming your position."
Barragan narrowed his single eye, fixing it on Kyōraku Callum. "You seem to know a great deal."
Kyōraku Callum nodded, matter-of-factly. "Far more than you imagine. But as a discarded pawn, you're hardly worth further discussion."
Barragan's gray eyebrows shot up in surprise. "What do you mean?"
Kyōraku Callum sighed. "Exactly what I said. You're a useless pawn."
While Kyōraku Callum didn't know Aizen's true intentions, it didn't prevent him from ensuring Barragan remained in the World of the Living. After all this talk, was he really going to let him leave?
Barragan rose from his throne, stretching his body.
"You're like that repulsive fellow; always spouting nonsense. But since those three fools failed to kill you, I shall send you to your grave."
Barragan's imposing stature amplified the oppressive feeling.
His terrifying spiritual pressure enveloped the entire city, causing all the Shinigami stationed there to tremble.
Even Rukia, nearby, could barely suppress her fear, forcing herself to face the former Hueco Mundo God-King.
Barragan extended his arm towards his bone throne.

Barragan, wielding the double-bladed axe, exuded an even more terrifying aura. The spiritual pressure of the Segunda Espada was fully unleashed.
Rukia's face paled; she suddenly realized something. "If they fight, City will be destroyed!" Overwhelmed by the spiritual pressure, Rukia almost forgot her duty.
Yoruichi Shihōin, however, remained impassive.
"Don't worry, Kisuke and Tessai arrived in City when he did. They began evacuating the city's human population while Kyōraku was fighting those ugly Hollows. Only a few people in the outskirts remain."
Rukia breathed a sigh of relief. While not particularly compassionate, she couldn't bear to watch an entire city perish.
Suddenly, Yoruichi Shihōin's brow arched; she produced a prepared Gigai and covered herself and Rukia.
Transforming back into a cat, she and Rukia were concealed within the Gigai.
"Yoruichi-san, what are you…" Rukia questioned, looking at the black hooded garment and the black cat on her shoulder.
"The Seireitei Captains are arriving," Yoruichi Shihōin said, her voice taking on a more masculine tone. "We shouldn't be seen. Hide. You know Bakudō #26, right?"
Rukia nodded instinctively.
