However, now…
Kyōraku Callum waved his hand and turned to leave. "I'll return to Seireitei in three months. Don't forget to prepare extra copies of the research results."
Watching Kyōraku Callum's departing figure, Kurotsuchi Mayuri's twisted expression gradually returned to normal, replaced by a progressively more manic grin.
"Objective achieved," he muttered, his fingers tightly clutching the dimensional container, gently shaking it before his face. "Kyōraku Callum's power… finally, I can answer the questions that have plagued me!"
The mystery of Kyōraku Callum's power had relentlessly tormented his curiosity, yet he couldn't directly investigate. The disparity in strength was too significant. One misstep, and he'd likely end up like Barragan.
Fortunately, this transaction yielded valuable samples. Kurotsuchi Mayuri was highly satisfied.
"Two birds with one stone. Sharing some research results is a small price to pay," he mused.
Behind him, the Senkaimon slowly opened, and Kurotsuchi Mayuri excitedly returned to the Seireitei.
After his departure, Kyōraku Callum reappeared in the same spot.
"I hope Kurotsuchi Mayuri's mentality doesn't become even more twisted after the research is complete," Kyōraku Callum said, a slight smile playing on his lips. "And I hope the research results meet my expectations."
Kyōraku Callum didn't particularly object to the task of guarding the World of the Living.
He had a rough estimate of how long the Hollow disturbance would last.
Perhaps when Aizen's plan fully unfolded, the World of the Living would return to normal.
A decade, perhaps.
He'd recently heard that Shiba Isshin had changed his surname to Kurosaki Isshin. While Shiba Isshin claimed it was to better conceal his identity, Kyōraku Callum knew the old fox was undoubtedly after the Kurosaki bloodline.
He wouldn't interfere, however. If a certain overpowered individual failed to be born, how would his subsequent check-in tasks progress?
He suspected the check-in tasks were somehow linked to the world's trajectory.
But Kyōraku Callum had his own plans.
Karakura Town. Urahara Shop. Underground Research Facility.
Kyōraku Callum observed Urahara Kisuke, engrossed in his research, noticing a striking similarity to someone else. As the former head of the Research and Development Institute, Urahara Kisuke mirrored Kurotsuchi Mayuri in certain aspects.
Urahara Kisuke held seven test tubes, his complex expression tinged with thought.
After a long pause, he placed the tubes back on the rack.
A hint of dejection clouded his features.
"No, it failed again," he sighed. "The Quincy's Hollowfication remains uncontrollable." He'd been trying to find a way to suppress Kurosaki Masaki's Hollowfication, even a temporary delay would be beneficial.
"Hollows correspond to humans; Shinigami correspond to Quincies," Kyōraku Callum stated, producing an apple from seemingly nowhere and taking a large bite.
"Shinigami living in the World of the Living should reside in Gigai; it's the correct approach."
He'd specifically requested a spiritual pressure-isolating Gigai from Urahara Kisuke to mask his spiritual pressure.
"To suppress Hollowfication, you need to inject a stronger corresponding power," Kyōraku Callum continued.
"Click. Clearly, the second-generation White Hollow was incredibly powerful!"
He had a general understanding of the concept, but the specifics would require Urahara Kisuke's expertise.
"Of course, it was powerful," Urahura Kisuke explained, smiling. "If Kurosaki Masaki hadn't arrived, Isshin might have died in Karakura Town. And I have some suspicions about the person who attacked him."
Before he could finish, Kyōraku Callum interrupted.
"Aizen! Such an obvious character, does it really require guesswork? Only he possesses such capabilities. Kyōka Suigetsu, Gigai, and Bakudō #26, Kyokkō. Even I would struggle to detect his spiritual pressure, let alone Isshin."
Urahara Kisuke rubbed his nose, neither confirming nor denying Kyōraku Callum's assessment.
"Indeed, his spiritual pressure concealment is impeccable. But…"
Kyōraku Callum tossed the apple core in a perfect parabolic arc, landing squarely in the trash can.
"Don't 'but' me. These are secondary concerns. Your priority is resolving the Quincy Hollowfication issue. Time is running out."
Having revealed some information about the Sternritter, Urahara Kisuke took the matter seriously. Kyōraku Callum was confident in Urahara Kisuke's ability to find a solution. After all, Urahara Kisuke, one of the five special war potentials, was a master of unconventional methods.
If he couldn't solve a problem, it was because the problem hadn't been presented to him effectively.
Urahara Kisuke's track record was impeccable. If Kurosaki Masaki represented overpowered abilities, Urahara Kisuke was the one who created them.
"I'll do my best," Urahara Kisuke said, his expression regaining its usual determination.
A meow echoed from the underground research facility. Before Kyōraku Callum could turn, a black figure landed on his shoulder.
"Kyōraku-kun, that Shinigami has arrived in Karakura Town," Yoruichi Shihōin whispered in his ear.
"Already?" Kyōraku Callum's eyes lit up. "Perfect timing. Let's go."
In an instant, he vanished.
Urahara Kisuke paused, realizing something was amiss.
"Using a spiritual pressure-isolating Gigai and still moving with such speed?
That Kyōraku Callum…"
