"Callum-kun," Aizen Sousuke said, his tone far more casual than Kyōraku Callum's formal address.
"Captain Aizen, when are we leaving?" Kyōraku Callum asked directly.
Aizen paused, then smiled.
"No rush. The Research and Development Institute has already pinpointed Hinamori's location. We can go to the World of the Living around dusk."
Kyōraku Callum remained calm, sitting opposite Aizen. "Captain Aizen will lead this operation. I'm ready to depart whenever."
Aizen's gentle smile remained unchanged. "Callum-kun, I have a question for you."
Kyōraku Callum nodded calmly. "Captain Aizen, please ask." He wasn't worried; he would face whatever came.
"What are your thoughts on the Central Forty-Six's decree?" Aizen asked, his voice steady. His thick glasses obscured his eyes in the fading light.
"Oh, I'll complete it, of course," Kyōraku Callum replied casually, his tone light and familiar. "Shinigami of the Gotei 13 can't disobey the Central Forty-Six's decrees!"
Aizen paused, slightly surprised by the answer, yet it wasn't entirely unexpected. Kyōraku Callum had consistently acted this way.
His only transgression against Seireitei rules was a self-defense battle forced upon him by Zaraki Kenpachi.
Compared to certain notorious Captains, Kyōraku Callum was practically a model Shinigami. Yet, Aizen felt that Kyōraku Callum concealed his true thoughts.
"As it should be," Aizen said, glancing towards the west.
The setting sun cast a warm glow outside the window. "Time passes quickly. Let's go report to the Captain-Commander and depart for the World of the Living."
"Yes, Captain Aizen." Kyōraku Callum pressed his fingers together, following Aizen out of the Fifth Division.
Even with the Central Forty-Six's decree, reporting their departure to the World of the Living was necessary.
This process didn't take long. Yamamoto-Genryūsai seemed prepared. As the sun completely set in Soul Society, Kyōraku Callum and Aizen, guided by Hell Butterflies, stepped through the Senkaimon.
World of the Living, Karakura Town.
With the advancement of technology, the beauty of the night sky was a rarity. Amidst the endless neon lights, a simple door opened in the air. Kyōraku Callum and Aizen appeared in the World of the Living.
They stood in mid-air, their spiritual pressure condensed beneath their feet. Aizen looked down at the scenery for a long time before speaking.
"The Research and Development Institute has pinpointed Hinamori's location. Let's proceed to that area."
Kyōraku Callum nodded, and they vanished using Shunpo.
Meanwhile, on a street near Kurosaki Clinic.
Hinamori Momo walked alone. Since losing her spiritual power, she'd remained in her Gigai.
However, her spiritual power hadn't recovered, causing her much concern.
"I hope my spiritual power recovers quickly so I can…"
Light footsteps approached from behind. A familiar spiritual pressure spread through the street.
Hinamori Momo stiffened, turning to see Kyōraku Callum behind her.
"Callum-kun," she whispered, surprised.
Kyōraku Callum smiled gently. "Found you, Hinamori."
Hinamori Momo managed a strained smile, unlike her usual demeanor. "Callum-kun, listen…"
Before she could finish, her eyes widened in shock.
Another familiar spiritual pressure descended upon the street.
Hinamori Momo stared in disbelief at the newly appeared figure.
"Captain Aizen?!"
Her voice was filled with surprise and a hint of joy. She hadn't expected to see Aizen again in the World of the Living.
This joy clouded her judgment.
Hinamori Momo instinctively ran towards Aizen, but a powerful spiritual pressure stopped her in her tracks.
"I apologize, Hinamori," Aizen said calmly, his usual smile gone.
His next words sent a chill down her spine, leaving her mind blank.
"I'm here to take you back to Soul Society as a criminal. Your actions have violated Soul Society's laws!"
Seeing her usually gentle Captain speaking to her in such a cold tone, Hinamori Momo felt her world crumble.
She tried to explain, but didn't know where to begin. Aizen's disappointed gaze pierced her heart like a blade.
"Callum-kun, let's return."
Kyōraku Callum drew his Zanpakutō, ready to open the Senkaimon.
As he raised his arm, a blue beam of spiritual energy shot from afar.
Ding! Kyōraku Callum deflected the beam with a fingertip, causing it to dissipate.
Under a streetlight, a figure in school uniform emerged slowly.
"Two armed men bullying a defenseless girl. That's unacceptable," Uryū Ishida said, his hands bandaged, holding his bow, Kojaku, and a convenience store bag.
"I hate this kind of thing!"
Before Kyōraku Callum could speak, Aizen said, "Who are you?"
Uryū Ishida pushed up his glasses. "I'm this girl's friend. And I hate Shinigami!"
Aizen looked calmly at the fallen Hinamori Momo.
