"Gino?! Can you see anything?!" Nina hissed impatiently as the boy in front of her watched everything that was happening outside.
"...n-no...ah!, my father is there he's going to!- Gino wanted to shout with joy but his words got stuck in his throat literally
The small smile that was beginning to form on his lips vanished in a fraction of a second as he looked at what was happening outside.
"What? What happened?! Has Lord Timothy defeated the intruder?!" Nina asked impatiently as she tried to look outside, but Gino had frozen in place without warning.
'I-impossible! He defeated my father instantly!' Gino screamed in terror in his mind as he watched what was happening.
He hadn't been able to see either of their movements clearly, but he did see his father defeated and humiliated in fractions of a second.
His face turned pale, his body began to tremble, and a cold sweat ran down his sword.
Gino and Nina had heard the commotion when it started, but it's not something out of the ordinary.
Hundreds upon hundreds of wandering swordsmen come to the sacred land of the sword seeking to become more powerful or with the foolish notion that they can defeat the Sword God just to die in the attempt.
But after this dragged on, they both decided to investigate on their own, but the Sword Emperor warned them to stay hidden, which they reluctantly did.
But the commotion and confusion only increased, and coupled with the mention of Gull Farion, who had been missing for five years, they simply couldn't help but spy.
"Gino! Stop acting like a statue and move!" Nina shouted as she pulled Gino out of the way.
Both were hiding near the entrance to the dojo in a blind spot, and both were watching the attackers who had arrived.
"Ha! Lord Timothy and Lord Clint will finish off the bastard together!" Nina shouted with excitement when she saw that the only Sword Emperors in the dojo would attack the bastard who was attacking the place.
'They're not as strong as Dad...but they're still unbeatable!'
"Haa!!!"
"Nnngh!!"
Thus both swordsmen rushed at the handsome boy with lizard-like features, but were immediately stopped and disarmed.
"Huh?..." These were the only sounds Nina could make due to the enormous shock she felt at seeing two of the best swordsmen in the dojo defeated so easily.
"I-impossible!" She wanted to scream but the tremendous fear she felt at that moment prevented her.
So she remained motionless in her place, trembling with absolute terror at everything that had happened.
The only protectors the dojo had lay at the feet of the handsome young man with brown hair, who had a solemn expression and was without a scratch.
Seeing those two powerful figures bowing down to the genre evoked a sense of terror in Gino and Nina that neither of them had ever felt before.
They didn't even notice Reida, who had walked right past them without paying them any attention.
Their minds couldn't process what had happened, so neither of them could remember what that handsome boy had said to the two swordsmen who were still on the ground.
"Alright! Now everyone return to the dojo so that the union between the sacred land of the sword and the kingdom of Asura be established!" The handsome young man with brown hair shouted.
"!!!"
"!!!"
Nina and Gino quickly snapped back to their senses upon hearing those words.
Neither of them had ever moved so fast in their lives as they tried to get up.
"What do we do now?!"
"We can't fight, it'll turn us into mush!"
"I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about running away!"
"What? What are you, a faggot? When the option of fleeing even became a possibility! You're a disgrace to fencing!" Nina hissed indignantly at Gino's words and even considered seriously in cutting him in half right there.
"A-ah! I-I'm sorry! But it's clear this isn't going to end well!" Gino retorted, "We don't know if he's going to kill us all!!"
"...then die with honor" was all Nina said before sitting down in one of the corners of the dojo with her legs crossed and an impassive expression.
Gino wanted to shout and make her see reason, but the swordsmen started entering the place, so he had to leave alone.
Nina saw all this and could only sigh to herself.
'How foolish...' she murmured through light tears.
So the swordsmen began to enter the place and she had to keep her composure no matter what.
...
One by one the swordsmen began to enter the dojo with grim faces and absolute terror
Every single one of them was dragging their feet, trembling, or completely pale, and none of them dared to raise their eyes.
Reida had entered the dojo but had gone further; as I recall, where she had gone was towards the area of the rooms.
Perhaps Isolte was there, or perhaps she was simply training alone.
Ghislaine walked behind me, looking around with a nostalgic expression.
It's like going back to that old arcade where nothing is the same after so many years.
In my past life I had that feeling several times, so I didn't bother her.
Even I looked at the place and...
It's horrible, or maybe not, don't get me wrong, but maybe I was expecting something else and it wasn't like that.
It was a huge building about fifty meters long and ten meters wide with a Japanese tile-style roof.
The interiors were like a huge faded red carpet, torches on the walls, a sliding door on both sides of the building, and the throne that belonged to Gull Farion.
The building was almost empty, in short, and it was a bit disheartening for the home of a world power.
The swordsmen began to sit about thirty meters from the throne, facing it with tense expressions.
I also looked at Ghislaine and she started walking and sat down on the throne in a nonchalant manner, just as she remembered Gull Farion doing.
Immediately some swordsmen wanted to express their indignation, but the more intelligent ones silenced them.
I won't lie, seeing Ghislaine sitting nonchalantly claiming her title of Sword God filled me with pride.
And she noticed my gaze because she blushed immediately when we made eye contact.
"Now then, could the Sword Goddess explain what happened that day?" I asked, and Ghislaine nodded.
So she began to recount everything that happened regarding Gesee that day.
And honestly, I had forgotten about that guy. After years of no activity from Hitogami, I simply dismissed the idea of a new attack, even though it hasn't happened yet.
And I don't think it will happen again if Gesee is smart and values his pathetic life.
And, as was obvious, the story caused outrage and fury among the swordsmen.
"trash!"
"That's a vile lie!"
"How do they expect us to believe that Lord Sword God abandoned us just for that!"
"You killed him!"
Although these cries of protest were silenced once again, the indignation among those present was still visible.
Especially a girl who was in the corner of the dojo and stared at me, grinding her teeth.
Dark blue hair and a spoiled brat personality...
Without a doubt it was Nina Farion, the only daughter of the last Sword God.
And to my surprise, she looked at me with fury and not lust like 100% of the women around me.
"I know you're upset and confused by everything that's happened, but tell me...how long was Gull Farion missing before his title was reclaimed?!" Ghislaine sued out of nowhere, silencing the insolent ones.
Even I was surprised; she usually always kept to herself.
But I suppose she wants to assert her authority here...she's earned herself a night alone with me tonigh hehehe...
At Ghislaine's question, the swordsmen remained completely silent; none dared to answer except for one, and that was obviously Nina.
She stood up, looked at me intently, took a breath, and screamed.
"Gull Farion was missing for six months before you killed him!, But what does that have to do with..." she said, but her voice trailed off as she realized what was happening until she sat back down on the floor, completely embarrassed.
"Six months...why so long? What made Gull Farion leave like that out of nowhere? What motivated him? Have you thought about that?" Ghislaine asked with genuine curiosity in her tone, but to the swordsmen they were like daggers in their chests.
None of them had thought about why Gull had left the dojo, They had all focused on the fact that he had been murdered, but nothing more.
Now everyone cursed their poor caveman minds for having overlooked a matter just as important as his death.
At this point, my gaze shifted to Nina; she was now staring at the floor as if she wanted to remember something she had deliberately forgotten.
'Shit...shit!, shit!, why didn't I think of that before!' she screamed in her mind in frustration as she dug her nails into her thighs in frustration and terror.
She remembered it clearly.
It was exactly one week before Gull left that he started talking about a certain human god and whether this god had appeared in her dreams.
Nina obviously had no idea what her father was talking about and let it go, even forgetting about it.
The same thing happened with Clint and Timothy, who remembered Gull's strange behavior before leaving the dojo.
And just one day before he left, he spoke of how this so-called Human God could be trustworthy...
The next morning Gull was gone, and that was the last time Nina saw him.
'Why didn't I see it before?!' she sobbed remorsefully as she clenched her fists so tightly they turned white.
Her eyes filled with tears which flowed freely as she buried her face in her legs, curling up in her place and hugging them.
Rudeus, of course, noticed this and started walking towards her.
The other swordsmen moved away from him in terror, clearing the way until Rudeus reached Nina.
Only then did the other swordsmen notice that she was crying.
"M-My father... he was acting strangely a few days before he disappeared. I didn't want to pay attention to it at the time, but... I think it had something to do with him leaving," she murmured weakly, and I was intrigued.
"What was he saying? Or how was he acting?" I asked.
She frowned, lowered her head again, and looked at the floor, muttering to herself.
"I don't remember exactly, but... he said something about a so-called human god... or something like that..." she said, and I immediately understood the situation.
"Are you referring to the Human God?" I asked, and Timothy raised his head and looked at me.
"Yes!... I also remember that the master had said something about a man who appeared in his dreams and whom he had come to trust," he said, and all the swordsmen stared at him in shock.
I glanced at Ghislaine, and she just sighed with a hint of sadness but said nothing more. She had already labeled Gull an enemy since he attacked our family.
"I think I know what Gull Farion was talking about, and I believe he's a common enemy of all of us," I said, and all the swordsmen stared at me, now with expectation on their faces.
This time, none of them dared to question me or threaten to do anything. Every single one of them remained silent as I began to recount what had happened.
...So I told them all who Hitogami was, what he did, and what they should do if they encountered him, specifying that they should never do what he said, no matter how trustworthy he seemed.
Obviously, and as expected, the swordsmen were completely outraged, each and every one of them wanting to kill Hitogami with their own hands—or so they said. All of this brought a smile to my face, as it was exactly what I needed to make these barbarians listen to me and cooperate with me.
So, when I finished explaining everything that was happening, the swordsmen were furious again, but this time directed at Hitogami, especially Nina.
"That bastard! If I find him, I'll make sure he has a slow and painful death!"
"No! I'll kill him! I won't let my father's honor be insulted like that by a pseudo-god imposter!"
The swordsmen's shouts became overwhelming, so I had to tell them to be quiet, which they surprisingly did quickly.
"I know you're all angry and want justice, and I can give it to you! But you must assure me that you will all follow me and accept Ghislaine Boreas Greyrath as the new Sword God!" I shouted, and Nina immediately stood up with a murderous look.
"I accept!"
...I accept too!"
Me too!"
Clint and Timothy were next, and the other swordsmen soon followed suit. Thus, and for the first time since the end of the Second Human-Demon War, the Sacred Land of the Sword formed an alliance with a foreign power.
