Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Rosette Young POV'

Priscilla words reverberated in Taylor's mind causing him to become eeriely silent —pondering of something

As I placed the dish down on the table, my gazes locked with Taylor's who was seemingly angry.

God knows why??

Then without my notice, he yanked my hair harshly, pulling me forcefully out of the booth.

Taylor dragged me to the manager's office, the sound of my heels clicking on the floor echoed through the hallway, the polished wood floor reflecting the fluorescent lights above.

My eyes welled up with tears as I tried to hide my pain and humiliation, the sting of my tears bitter on my cheeks. The manager's office was a blur as Taylor threw me to the ground, the cold floor unforgiving beneath me, the chill seeping into my bones.

Taylor's anger was palpable, his eyes blazing with fury, his nostrils flaring like a wild animal.

"What is the meaning of this?" he growled, his voice low and menacing, the vibrations of his words resonating in my chest.

I and the manager were left in daze.

The manager trembled, wiping the sweat from his forehead with a shaking hand, the beads of sweat glistening on his brow like tiny diamonds.

"What is..is wrong Mr. Yves?"

"Her?! What is she doing in this restaurant? "

"How dare you hire undergraduate and inexperienced person in my cousin's establishment."

The air was thick with tension as Taylor berated me, his words cutting deep into my psyche like a sharp knife.

My body ached from the pain,my scalp throbbing from Taylor's grip on my hair, the pain radiating through my head like a migraine.

I felt like a rag doll, tossed around without care or compassion, my limbs flailing like a puppet on a string.

"I didn't .. didn't know Mr. Yves." The manager trembled noticably.

"Really, how stupid can you be? Only a fool would see her as a suitable candidate.

Didn't you interview her, or where you busy relishing her body."

Taylor mocked, disgust laced in his tone.

He kicked me to vent his frustration, my world went dark for a moment, the pain like a tidal wave crashing over me.

I felt a searing pain in my stomach, and my vision blurred, the room spinning around me like a merry-go-round.

He held my hair, raising my face to his.

"Isn't it b****"

By now he was consumed with anger, that my little nodding frustrated him even more resorting him to kick me harshly across the stomach

My body hit the wall, unintentionally pushing a vase over.

The sound of the vase shattering was like a distant echo, a reminder of the destruction that had been unleashed, the shards of glass glinting like ice on the floor.

"Fix this trouble or get ready to kiss your career days over."

Taylor growled at the manager firmly and sternly.

Taylor left momentarily after..

When Taylor left the office, the manager's expression turned from fear to hatred, his eyes narrowing like a snake's.

"You dared lie to me, and that too about the young master,"

he sneered, his voice dripping with venom, the words like acid on my skin. "From henceforth, Rosette is banned from this establishment and would never step foot as a waitress or customer here ever again.

You would pay for lying and breaking an expensive and antique vase .

Maybe a moment behind bars would show you."

My eyes dimmed as I looked at the manager, my voice barely above a whisper, the words trembling on my lips.

"Please don't do this, sir. This is the only job I have which caters for my needs. If I lose this job, my family and I would be downfall. Please spare me, I would do anything but please don't kick me out."

But it was too late. The manager's mind was made up, and he called the police to take me away.

As the onlookers jeered and catcalled, my desperation and fear grew, the sound of their voices like a cacophony of hate.

I knew I was in grave trouble, and I didn't know how I would get out of this situation. The sound of the police sirens was like a death knell, a reminder that my life was about to take a drastic turn.

As I was dragged away, I felt a sense of hopelessness wash over me, the cold metal handcuffs biting into my wrists like a vice.

What would happen to me next? Would I ever be able to escape the darkness that had consumed my life?
