Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: The Scimitar’s Strike

Noticing this, Ralif couldn't help but frown. She then looked away for a second, to see if freezing the other corpse race villains around her had any effect. And strangely, the extremely cold air from earlier seemed to have a great effect on them.

From her intense scrutiny, she noticed that the extreme temperatures from the wind seemed to have slowed down their mental faculties to a crawl. Making it very difficult for them to unfreeze their bodies using their abilities, although the cold seemed to have no effect in killing them.

But this slight victory was all she wanted. She wanted enough time to study, and kill the blue gowned man, before the rest of his group escaped, and seeing that it'll take a few minutes before they could unfreeze themselves from the extreme cold brought by her cold breath, she quickly jumped into action again.

But before she could rush towards the blue gowned man, the scimitar that was lying on the ground next to her feet had at some point in time appeared behind her silently by itself. And with a quick slicing motion, flew towards her neck at blinding speeds. Bringing with it a sharp glint that looked like it could tear through the hardest metal.

Even before the scimitar touched her neck, she already felt the skin on her neck being torn apart by an invisible aura so sharp, that if she wasn't quick enough, would decapitate her instantly.

With a quick reaction to the danger, brown scales quickly grew on neck, narrowly saving her from being decapitated by the scimitar, as it sliced at her neck with a violent force that sent her staggering forwards, before falling to the ground with a roll.

Even with the protection of her reptilian scales, the force from the impact bruised the organs within her neck, and almost shattered her neck bone, making it hard for her to catch her breath while she tumbled on the ground helplessly. On the impact site on her neck, the scales that were there now had long and shallow cuts on them. It seemed if she took any more strikes like the one from before, she may lose her head in this battle.

Yet, as she was tumbling on the floor from the force of the impact, before she could steady herself, and stand up, the scimitar had already appeared above her tumbling figure once more. It then bore down at her with another slicing strike that seemed far more powerful than the one from before.

This time it seemed it was aiming to slice her tumbling body into two pieces with great force, from head to toe.

As the scimitar's sharp blade came down on her with a force that looked like it could cleave the planet into two pieces, the slightly disoriented Ralif immediately sensed danger above her.
