Rufut, who also suffered greatly from his mind going haywire in fear and disgust, quickly noticed Ralif's fallen figure. So he quickly tried with all his might to clear his head and steel his mind, in order to help his sister.
After steeling his mind and clearing his head of disgust and fear, he quickly went over to her to check her vitals in great concern. While hunched over, a rain of blood strangely started falling onto him, and his sister. But he didn't pay attention to it, until he was certain everything was fine with Ralif. He ignored the blood rain that dripped into his eyes, causing him pain, and irritation.
He ignored the rain that entered his nose when he tried to breathe, which caused him to suffocate with each breath. He ignored the strong metallic taste that entered his nose and mouth that made him want to throw up in disgust, as well as the groggy feeling of delirium that overwhelmed his mind, that came with the bloody rainfall, until he was sure his sister was fine.
After carefully inspecting Ralif's body for a couple minutes, he noticed that her pulse and breath were steady and rhythmic, and her vitals were fine. 'It seems she just passed out, out of exhaustion. She'll likely be fine when she wakes up in a few hours.' He thought to himself, after breathing a sigh of relief.
After making sure Ralif, whose body was now covered in a rain of blood, wasn't hurt, he slowly stood to look up at the sky that was now curtained by a veil of blood red clouds.
Looking at the clouds that covered the entire sky no matter which direction he looked, an involuntary feeling of fear and disgust bubbled up from within him. He couldn't help but realize that countless people must've been killed in the past for this amount of blood to fall from the skies.
His intuition told him, as he stared at the clouds above him, that the blood that was currently falling on top of him was likely the blood of countless fallen beings, and not something created by magic from thin air.
Looking at the rain of blood that had now covered everything within the broken city, he suddenly felt physically and mentally exhausted. He then remembered the words of the cook from the tavern he had just left earlier today. 'It seems the corpse race will not be the only powerful enemy that we will fight in the coming days.' He thought gloomily to himself. The deep fear that came with the rain gave him a deeper understanding of the dangers that will befall him and his siblings in the future.
