Chapter 164 - Chapter 164: A Lonely Scimitar

Hearing his calm words, and feeling the imperial aura that emanated from his body, the people within the cave slowly calmed down their aching hearts, and accepted his imperial presence within the cave, but still continued their sorrowful chanting.

"I'm sorry, sire. Our ancestors passed this song down to our people, and told us to sing it in our moment of need. For some reason, we couldn't help but sing our ancestors' chant of sorrow today. I beg for your forgiveness." An old woman, who wore a disheveled brown colored, grass-straw dress slowly stepped out of the group of people in fear, and spoke to him gently in fear and respect, while choking back tears of sadness.

It seemed she was planning to ask him questions to ascertain who he was, judging by her questioning eyes. But Rufut could tell by the dried up tears on her face, her shallow voice, and her weary, tear-filled eyes, that she was having a hard time inside the cave that barely had circulating air at her old age. If she stayed any longer, the shortness of breath from the lack of fresh air could end her old life.

So before the old woman could open her mouth again in order to ask him questions to ascertain who he was, and if they would be safe, now that he had opened up their secret passageway, which could likely lead the corpse race members that they ran away from into the cave to kill them, Rufut continued with a wave of his right hand. "Let's not talk here. Follow me, and I'll take you to somewhere safer."

With that hand wave, a massive white circle appeared below the feet of everyone within the dark cave, and their belongings. They then fell into the circle, before disappearing from sight. Left behind was a dark and empty cave.

Three seconds prior to the group's disappearance, somewhere within the empty and broken city, a three meter, circular clearing, that was free from grass and debris could be seen. At the center of that clearing, was a lonely scimitar, whose blade had pierced halfway into the dirt.

Although it was now ownerless, there was a strange sharp aura that it emitted from its body, that seemed to be capable of tearing everything within a three meter radius around it to shreds. All plants, critters and debris within those three meters had at some point in time been destroyed by the sharp aura coming from the lonely scimitar. The only thing that could enter its perimeter without being shredded to pieces, was the endless rain of blood that drenched the blade, until it turned completely blood red.

Just as Rufut disappeared from the cave, a white circle also appeared on the ground and surrounded the scimitar, which caused it to disappear as well.
