Chapter 2 - Chapter ★2 "A Wedding Without a Bride"

A new day began early. Everyone was bustling to prepare and finish the last errands. Huda and Salma were up at dawn, heading to the spa to relax their nerves before the wedding chaos began. Of course, Samira didn't trust them completely, so she sent a few female relatives along for supervision.

After enjoying a hot shower and a muscle-melting massage, Huda and Salma left the other girls in the salon and headed upstairs to the clinic floor, which was booked in advance for cosmetic procedures.

Salma raised an eyebrow:

"I still don't get why you're going through with all this… tightening and the whole 'purity' thing. Are you really going to let him touch you?"

Huda smirked:

"If he's a real man, not just some weakling, not only will I let him—I'll give myself to him. But if he's just another loser like before? Then no thanks. I'd rather gift it back to Anas so he knows what he missed. And I'm not even doing this for him—this is for me. I want to feel like I own my body again. I want to enjoy things like any other woman... and maybe try a new... connection."

Salma stared, stunned:

"Wow… You're bold. I don't envy you, but good luck if Anas ever finds out!"

Huda:

"Let him find out. Maybe it'll burn him inside. He caused all this anyway."

Salma:

"Even if you still love him... you'd be okay being with someone else?"

Huda:

"Love is in the heart, not the body. What do you want me to do, cry in silence forever? No thanks. I don't hold onto pain. I move on… but only for someone worthy."

Salma chuckled:

"Something tells me this new guy will be hot... though I doubt he's hotter than Anas."

Huda bit her lip with a sly smile:

"From your lips to the universe's ears. And if he's even just good in one way… that's all I need."

Salma teased:

"You really live for the thrill, huh?"

Huda leaned in, whispering playfully:

"There's nothing better, sis."

Their conversation was cut short by the entrance of the doctor. She asked Huda to lie on the medical bed and prepare for the procedure.

Doctor:

"As we agreed, we'll do the laser tightening first, then the cosmetic restoration. But since you asked for visible signs afterward, I'll do a double-layer technique that combines both. You'll get the effect you want, and it will also enhance tightness. It's faster and better for someone like you, especially with your wedding tonight—since the standard method requires a week of no activity."

Huda grinned playfully:

"You're the expert. Just make it tight—no holding back!"

The doctor chuckled and started working. The local anesthetic took full effect, and Huda was relaxed and calm, chatting comfortably through it.

Huda:

"Doc… I won't be numb forever, right? I still want to feel things, you know."

Doctor:

"No worries. The numbness will wear off shortly. You'll walk and move normally. You might feel slight discomfort when sitting, but that's all. And I'll prescribe some meds. Just know that if you try anything physical soon… it'll hurt more than usual, and there will be bleeding since it's still fresh. Ideally, you'd wait three days."

Huda:

"It's okay. I can wait."

Doctor:

"Great. Almost done!"

Time passed…

The wedding was underway. The grand ballroom was filling with both families' guests. It was a royal affair—music, gourmet appetizers, staff running around. Everything was ready—except the bride and groom.

Back in the bride's suite, the makeup artist and her team stood confused by the door. Something was clearly wrong. Salma, Samira, and her three stylishly dressed daughters-in-law were all gathered, tension building in their eyes.---

Samira banged on the bedroom door with both fists, her voice rising in panic:

"Huda! Open the door before you embarrass us in front of everyone! Don't make me call them to break it down on your head!"

Salma pleaded beside her, visibly shaken:

"Huda, please... for God's sake, just open the door!"

Samira turned toward Salma, her face flushed with anxiety:

"Why does this always happen to me?! What am I supposed to do with this disaster of a daughter? She's going to kill me!"

Salma, trembling, replied:

"She told me to call you... but when I came back, she had locked the door and refused to open up!"

One of Samira's daughters-in-law muttered:

"Auntie, should I call Nabil and the boys to come check on her? We've been delayed too long already."

Salma turned to her quickly:

"We're not that late—besides, the groom and his family haven't even arrived yet."

Samira sat down, holding her jaw with both hands, visibly about to crack. She whispered in dread:

"Please God, tell me she didn't actually do it..."

---

Inside the locked room...

Huda stood in the center, pacing nervously in her wedding caftan. Her heart was pounding so hard she could feel it in her throat. Her hands trembled as she clutched her phone, staring at it, waiting—hoping for a message.

Finally, her phone buzzed. A text.

It was him.

He wrote that he was already at the wedding... and asked her to kick everyone out of the room and lock it, so he could see her.

Suddenly, a soft knock came from the balcony door.

Startled, she rushed to the window—and her eyes widened in shock.

It was Anas.

He stood there, waiting for her to open. As soon as she unlocked the door, he stepped inside quickly and shut it behind him so no one could see them.

Huda, breathless and panicked:

"Are you insane?! What the hell are you doing here? That was just a message, not an invitation! Do you want someone to die tonight or what?!"

Anas stepped closer, unable to take his eyes off her.

She looked like something out of a dream—draped in white silk, her hands dyed with henna, her forehead adorned with a sparkling tiara. A goddess in human form.

He whispered as he reached for her waist:

"I couldn't stay away... I had to see you, Huda."

She shoved him back angrily:

"Well now you've seen me! Now leave before this whole night turns into a nightmare!"

Another loud knock at the bedroom door echoed through the room—her mother's voice calling her again.

She looked toward the door in terror, then back at him.

But Anas didn't budge.

He moved closer, eyes fixated on her lips, and leaned in—only for Huda to push him away again, this time with a desperate cry:

"Have you lost your mind?! I told you to go! Do you want to ruin everything?!"

Anas, calm but intense, held her face between his hands:

"I'll go... but only if you come with me. Let's run away, Huda. Let's leave all of this behind and start fresh—just you and me."

She swallowed hard, torn between desire and dread. The knocking at the door grew louder.

Huda (whispering in fear):

"But... what if—"

He cut her off:

"No more 'what ifs'. If we don't do this now, we'll never get another chance. Let's run. I promise you—I won't mess it up this time. I'll change for you, I swear... Just say yes."

She stared at him, eyes wide, her heart aching.

Then... she nodded.

Without a word, he grabbed her hand and led her toward the balcony, ready to disappear into the night with the bride.
